Chapter 7: E6-Geto Suguru
Rika lay apparently subdued on the ground, or at least that's what it seemed. However, she had reserved her last strength to launch a full-power attack.
Her eye suddenly opened, revealing a monstrous mouth. Hashirama, alarmed, tried to control the wood that surrounded the cursed spirit to contain her.
'Damn it,' he thought, feeling the pressure of the situation.
A large mass of energy began to form around Rika's mouth. The pressure emanating from that energy was so intense that it even distracted Hashirama.
The energy beam shot directly toward him, although its power turned out to be less than expected.
The beam hit Hashirama head-on. At the same time, Rika disappeared into shadows, as it seemed she had used her last reserve of cursed energy in that final attack.
Sweat ran down Hashirama's face as he closed his eyes, knowing it was too late to use the wood element.
However, at that moment, a figure emerged in front of him, as if materializing from the air itself.
The beam collided with the figure and exploded on the wooden golem. When the dust finally settled, there was Satoru Gojo, standing on the burnt wood of the golem's head, right where the beam had exploded.
With a smile, the veil disappeared, and the wooden golem finally vanished, turning to smoke after all the damage it had received.
Hashirama exhaled deeply and, after a moment, smiled at his mentor, who returned a calm smile.
"You did well handling Rika on your own," Satoru said in a calm voice, patting him on the back to comfort him.
Then, Satoru walked toward the others, observing how Yuta, surprised, watched the scene. In his eyes reflected a mixture of happiness and relief, knowing that no one had died.
Hashirama, although exhausted, managed to walk without assistance and tried to reach the car. With a tired smile, he leaned against the wall at the entrance to the school, as he couldn't move any further.
Yuta, worried, approached to help him. Although he held him firmly, his expression revealed the guilt he felt for not having handled Rika better. He remained silent, embarrassed, while helping Hashirama into the vehicle.
"Everything will be fine. You didn't do anything wrong, and I'm not mad at you. So relax," Hashirama said in a serene voice before closing his eyes to rest.
After the incident with Rika Orimoto, they went to the hospital so that Maki and the children could receive medical attention.
After that, several days passed normally. Yuta resumed his training with Maki, Tobirama, and the other members of the Jujutsu school, except Tsunade, who was rarely present. Tobirama, the only other sword user, became a key influence for Yuta, helping him improve his techniques in a short period of time.
Tobirama was stoic and serious, always focused on his goals but also willing to help others progress.
If Yuta got distracted, Tobirama would put him in his place immediately; he wasn't someone who beat around the bush.
Today was a new mission for Yuta, and to his surprise, this time Hashirama wouldn't be sent to monitor them. Instead, the sensei decided to send him with Tobirama. Apparently, the goal was for Yuta to interact more with his teammates, not just in the school environment, but also on the battlefield. His teacher wanted to improve the chemistry between them, making sure that teamwork felt natural and fluid.
The team, made up of Yuta, Inumaki, and Tobirama, got into a car that Gojo had prepared for the mission. Tobirama was dressed in the traditional Jujutsu uniform, accompanied by a katana that was a cursed weapon. According to what he had told Yuta, his weapon was called the Sword of the Thunder God (Raijin no Ken).
The sword was eye-catching: its blade gleamed in a bright yellow, and its gray hilt seemed designed to channel energy. The most peculiar thing was that the blade seemed to emerge from the hilt like a lightsaber, even producing a similar sound. Infused with pure electrical energy, it truly lived up to its name. Although Tobirama hadn't revealed more details, Yuta knew it was an impressive and lethal tool.
Upon arriving at the location, they found themselves in an urban area where a veil had been placed. There, they were greeted by Ijichi Kiyotaka, who explained the situation. According to Ijichi, the place was going to be used for a new project, but due to the presence of low-level curses, the investors were concerned. They wanted to avoid incidents like those in Five Nights at Freddy's. Therefore, they requested that Inumaki handle the issue, with Tobirama supervising and supporting both of them.
After receiving the instructions, the team entered the barrier. As soon as they stepped in, Tobirama felt his whole body tense up. With speed and precision, he kept his grip on his sword, holding it firmly. There was an immense production of cursed energy, so powerful that it rivaled Yuta's. This was a clear sign: someone of special grade was inside the veil, and that was not a good sign.
However, neither Yuta nor Inumaki seemed to notice anything strange, and Tobirama didn't blame them. After all, he was the only one in the school capable of detecting cursed energy with such precision, even if it was suppressed. Not only could he identify its presence, but he could also sense the emotions it transmitted. And the cursed energy signature he was sensing at that moment was filled with curiosity and intrigue.
As his teammates advanced without showing any signs of concern, Tobirama stayed a few steps behind, his gaze alert yet maintaining his stoic appearance, scanning every corner for anyone who might be hiding.
'Why would a special-grade curse be in a place like this...?'
The question lingered in his mind when Inumaki's voice abruptly pulled him out of his thoughts:
"EXPLODE!"
The shout resonated forcefully, and the cursed energy in the air seemed to intensify even further, creating waves that shattered the surrounding curses.
Inumaki had cast his cursed speech without hesitation, ignoring Yuta's attempts to stop him. The power of his words was enough to destroy the group of curses in front of them. Once finished, the two turned and approached Tobirama, who remained standing with his arms crossed over his chest. His expression was grim and thoughtful, which caught both of their attention.
"Tobirama-san, are you alright?" asked Yuta with concern, confused by the seriousness Tobirama was showing.
Tobirama didn't respond immediately. However, his serious demeanor didn't go unnoticed. Before he could answer, a cursed spirit suddenly appeared behind Yuta and Inumaki, creating a beam of light that engulfed both boys. Tobirama, having sensed the spirit's presence before they did, moved swiftly. In the blink of an eye, he positioned himself between his teammates and the attack, pushing them away with both palms.
The energy beam fell directly on Tobirama.
Yuta and Inumaki rolled on the ground, surprised and worried. They quickly reacted, getting into battle stance, but what they saw left them even more stunned. Where Tobirama's charred body should have been, there was only dust.
Before they could process what had happened, a scream from the curse echoed in the air. Its body writhed as it was pierced from behind, followed by an explosion of electrical energy that completely destroyed it. Tobirama emerged from the shadows, having suppressed his cursed energy to move stealthily and strike the enemy by surprise.
"So you decided to make your move, huh? Attacking like a cowardly rat," Tobirama said with a cold tone, his eyes scanning the area with deadly calmness.
Suddenly, a calm laugh resonated throughout the place. In the mall, a handsome man revealed himself from the shadows, sitting on a platform. His appearance was unsettling, with a strange worm wrapped around his back and torso. His calm smile contrasted with the sinister aura surrounding him.
Tobirama's brow furrowed deeply as he recognized the figure in front of them. A chill ran down his spine. The cursed energy emanating from him was heavy and oppressive, a clear indication that this enemy was no ordinary foe.
"You..." Tobirama murmured, his voice barely audible but full of tension.
"I see, it's you," Tobirama's voice became more distinct, his tone grave.
"Suguru Geto, the other special-grade sorcerer more powerful than even Gojo-sensei," murmured Tobirama, his voice heavy with gravity.
With a sigh, Suguru Geto's figure rose from the platform where he had been sitting. His relaxed posture contrasted with the tension that filled the air.
"You really just ruined my plan, Senju-san," Suguru said, letting out another sigh as his eyes settled on Tobirama with a mix of annoyance and amusement. "Now I'll have to adjust my plans... though for now, let me take a look at the power of the cursed spirit, Rika." A sinister smile formed on his face as he directed his gaze towards Yuta.
Tobirama didn't wait any longer. In a fluid motion, he threw a kunai imbued with cursed energy directly at Geto. However, with a simple head movement, Suguru allowed the weapon to pass by him without any apparent harm. Believing he had gained the upper hand, Tobirama appeared behind Geto in a flash, using his teleportation technique, Hiraishin. With incredible speed, he imbued his sword with cursed lightning and launched an attack at his enemy's head.
But Suguru, anticipating the move, elegantly dodged. Using his bare hands, he blocked Tobirama's attack and easily deflected his body. Then, with a swift movement, he launched a palm strike aimed at Tobirama's back. The Senju, thanks to his Hiraishin, managed to evade the impact at the last moment, disappearing in a blue flash.
Suguru smiled, confident. "You thought I hadn't researched you, huh?" His voice was calm, but there was an implicit threat underlying it.
Tobirama reappeared next to Yuta, his expression serious and his brow furrowed. He observed Suguru while keeping a firm hand on his sword.
"Yuta, he's after you. I won't be able to protect you constantly. His technique allows him to control curses, and he will likely try to separate us. If something happens, you need to be ready," Tobirama declared in a firm, cold, and demanding voice.
Tobirama's warning made it clear that the situation was dire. In his brief confrontation with Suguru, Tobirama had glimpsed a power equal to that of a special-grade curse. Though facing Gojo regularly had prepared him for formidable opponents, there was no comparison. Satoru Gojo was perfection incarnate, but even that perfection had failed to protect his best friend from himself.
Suguru Geto had been, and still was, the second most powerful.
However, his mind had fallen into an abyss, transforming him into a man who saw humans as a plague to be eradicated. As Tobirama watched Geto, a small part of his mind couldn't help but align with the ideals of his enemy.
'Why protect those who bring about our misfortune? Why risk ourselves for those responsible for so much suffering? Why should we submit to beings incapable of controlling their own emotions?'.
His thoughts were reflected in the tightening grip on his sword. He looked at Geto with a mixture of rejection and understanding.
"I can't use my Hiraishin outside the barrier... Somehow, Geto has restricted my movements within the veil," Tobirama thought with tension.
Geto, with a swift movement, leaped off the platform and landed on the ground with an impact that reverberated through the area. The Jujutsu sorcerers, instinctively, took up combat positions, their bodies tense and ready to react.
"This generation is full of interesting young people," Geto began, his voice loaded with both irony and admiration. His gaze slowly swept over each of them as he spoke. "A young man capable of manipulating nature and suppressing cursed spirits. A prodigy who moves at astonishing speeds, revolutionizing barrier techniques, and creating methods and techniques that any Jujutsu sorcerer could learn. He's even designed a technique that allows him to move from place to place in the blink of an eye, something that, in the world of Jujutsu, is limited by your genetics or luck. A girl with mastery over reverse cursed technique that surpasses even Shoko's. And lastly, a young man with a cursed spirit whose cursed energy production rivals Satoru Gojo's... simply intriguing."
His smile widened, as if he were enjoying a show meant only for him. "Well, well, you really are full of surprises."
Suddenly, dark portals began to materialize around him, swirling and pulsing with an overwhelming cursed energy. From them emerged a horde of curses, swirling with an unsettling force. The malevolent pressure filled the air, making even the most experienced feel the weight of the threat. Geto's gaze locked onto Yuta, his face illuminated by a mixture of challenge and curiosity.
"Show me your power..." he said in a low voice, almost a whisper, but with a tone that resonated like an order.
