Reincarnated in Banshee Town

Chapter 21: Back home

Banshee Town, Ethan's Cabin.

Ethan took out his keys and opened the door, threw the backpack aside, took a few steps, and lay down carefully on the sofa. Looking at the deer head on the wall, he felt a sense of relief, ever since he had investigated this world on the internet he never imagined that his first trip would have an event like that, next time it would not be so sloppy. .

When his phone rang, he picked it up and clicked on the message.

—I miss you. If I have a chance, I'll go to Pennsylvania to hang out with you, hahaha.

The message was followed by a photo in which Blake was sitting in a corner of the pool with sunglasses and a corner of his exposed black bikini.

Ethan responded quickly in the affirmative and kept the image silent.

Later, his colleagues from the police station sent him messages. He had already answered them one by one. He turned on the television and changed several channels, all of which were reports on the earthquake on the west coast and how San Francisco had now become an island in the Pacific.

As a person involved, Ethan was not interested in knowing more, turned off the television and returned to the room. He sat on the bed and exhaled. Tasks were still blinking and the state changed to Completed.

For the past two days, he had been venting all the stress from the Blake incident. He almost collapsed and slept when he got on the plane. He did not have time to deal with the system. Now that he was back home, he was finally able to calm down and take a look at the rewards he had received.

He soon moved his thoughts and a semi-transparent hologram appeared in front of him, lightly touched the light screen, the reward was a new skill and a magic medicine, the last time was one for better his physical constitution, I was curious what it would be this time, once the rewards were claimed the panel tasks disappeared immediately.

Ethan opened the waiting space as if opening a Christmas present.

In space, in addition to a large amount of food, ammunition, and firearms, there was also a blue book and a glass tube filled with liquid of the same color.

By taking the skills book, a sign of (+) appeared on the side of skills in his status, touched and added skill points to the fight to compensate for deficiencies in hand-to-hand combat. As his fighting skills improved, scenes from his previous fighting training at the police academy went through his mind like a canopy. He gained a deeper understanding of how to quickly subdue an opponent and various ruthless fighting techniques.

Then he took out the glass tube, where small particles rotated inside. The blue liquid was deep and charming, as if it could attract people's souls.

—Skill: Regenerative Essence: Drinking it gives the user the ability to regenerate less, quickly repairs minor injuries such as cuts and bruises, and gives a temporary boost to the body's ability to regenerate damaged tissue.

The simple explanation made Ethan celebrate.

He immediately uncorked the bottle, raised his head, and drank the potion in one gulp. After swallowing the liquid, Ethan's expression changed, recalling the last time he drank the physical enhancement potion.

He still remembered that feeling that his entire body was on fire. Just as he was about to get out of bed, he felt a heat wave in his stomach. A feeling of numbness spread throughout the body, and the sensation was even stronger the wound in his leg.

Ethan staggered and tried to get up. The tingling sensation spread throughout his body. He closed his eyes enjoying the sensation and lay down on his bed to fall into a deep sleep.

When he woke up, it was already dark and the stars were shining outside his window. Ethan blinked and looked at the ceiling, feeling extremely relaxed and energized again.

He turned around and got out of bed, firmly supporting his body. After untying the splint and pressing it with his hands, he felt no discomfort or pain.

At first, the doctor said that his injury was not too serious and that he could walk freely after a few weeks of rest, but now that he took the potion and his body increased the regenerative power, the injury was completely healed. Ethan gave a few times and his body still felt a little lighter.

Recalling the other effect of the potion, which may slightly increase the body's regenerative capacity, Ethan walked quickly to the kitchen.

He pulled out a table knife, stretched out his finger, and placed the sharp blade on the fingertip.

I slide the knife opening a small wound, a little blood gushed out but it quickly stopped. He cleaned the wound with a towel, and the wound closed quickly.

As long as he had the ability, he had to remember that he was not immortal and should not risk it.

He raised his hand and looked at his watch. It wasn't too late and I missed the atmosphere of the Davis Bar.

Ethan climbed the newly purchased Dodge Challenger 1970, rubbed his fingers on the wheel, and turned the key. The engine roared and two headlights illuminated the road, soon the car only left behind a trail of dust along the way. I wanted to go for a drink so I would go to Sugar's bar, I didn't know what had happened in town lately so it was a good place to find out everything.

He parked his car in front of the bar and opened the door.

—Oh oh oh, look who's back —.

Candy took off her towel and opened her arms.

—You, the guy who survived the disaster, want to give this old man a big hug.?

—As long as you're a woman and have pretty eyes, I might think about it. — Ethan replied as he walked to the bar, clashed his fists with Hood, and complained unceremoniously.

Sugar looked at him with resentment.

—Man, you have deeply hurt my feelings.

Ethan looked at the man with a half smile.

—Ok it's fine.

Ethan gave Sugar a short hug, and he smiled,

He soon had a short glass and heavily served the whiskey in his hand in front of him, cleaned the counter, placing it on a cup holder, and, curiously, asked about the situation in San Francisco.

Ethan had no reservations about telling what had happened on his trip, including details about the beautiful college girl he had met. As he continued to speak, the crowd at the bar slowly gathered around him, some paid for drinks for Ethan excited about his story.

It is one thing to see it on television, but another thing to hear people who have experienced it talk about it. Everyone likes to hear a good story.

When the story was over, he took a sip of whiskey to moisten his throat, toasting with the guys at the bar celebrating his adventure. At that time, a strong bodily odor from someone who had not bathed for who knows how many days floated to one side, and the originally dense crowd suddenly relaxed.

Ethan frowned and looked to the side. A short, fat, middle-aged man wearing a starched jacket pressed next to him.

Long, dirty hair was extended to both sides of his fat face. He didn't know how much he had drunk but his face was as red as pig liver.

The middle-aged man extended his chubby arms to hug Ethan, his nails were full of dirt, and drunk, he breathed alcohol on Ethan's face.

—You are a lucky bastard. I guess bastards live longer.

As he spoke, the saliva coming out of his mouth kept flying toward Ethan's glass of wine. Some people walked away quickly, Ethan had a reputation for not being so tolerant of those who bothered him. Locals knew very well how ruthless this police officer could be.

The Moody brothers disappeared some time ago, it was not a secret that they wanted revenge on Ethan for the death of his brother, but they did not show his head again, some rumors said that he had been killed like his brother, but without bodies there was no evidence ..

Ethan looked at the pieces of saliva floating in his drink, the smile on his face slowly disappeared and his eyes turned cold.

Hood noticed Ethan's murderous gaze and was about to speak but it wasn't fast enough.

Ethan wasted no time. In the blink of an eye, his hand shot like a whip and slammed around the man's thick neck, his fingers firm as steel shackles. Everything happened in one movement, fast and precise.

The man had no chance to react before his body was blown up, hitting a close table. The wood emitted a heartbreaking crunch before splitting into several pieces, scattering splinters all over the place.

—Hey Ethan, relax, he's a friend.

The murmurs at the bar stopped suddenly. They all fell silent, glances oscillating between Ethan and the man lying on the ground, stunned among the remains of the destroyed table. Taking a deep breath, Ethan stared at those present, making it clear that he was in no mood for jokes.

Hood ran up and raised Ethan's hand, holding the gun in his hand.

—Not so bad, he just drank too much. Don't take it so seriously.

The man lying on the ground also woke up. He quickly put his hands to his head and stood motionless on the ground. Originally, Ethan just wanted to scare the man and teach him a little lesson. Hearing that he was known to Hood, I let him go.

After so much fuss, people at the bar stopped listening to the story and dispersed to pursue their own affairs.

—Sugar, don't worry, I'll cover the damage, and give Ethan another drink. —I affirm, keeping calm Sugar frowned for a moment, but he nodded silently what happened left him stunned for a few moments.-

Meanwhile, Hood, with a heavy sigh, scratched his head before sitting next to Ethan, as if seeking a breather. He could imagine that Ethan was still on alert for everything that had happened to him in San Francisco.

After the fat man got up, he carefully found a place to sit, away from Ethan.

—Sorry, I didn't know that this was your friend —Ethan said while taking the drink, Hood pursed his lips. — I guess after everything that happened, I have altered nerves.

—Okay, it's just a misunderstanding.

— What happens to your friend? I thought he was a bum.

—It is a long story. By the way, when do you go back to work?

Hood stared at his friend and then quickly changed the subject.

—Tomorrow, I can't stay home doing nothing, it's better to work to leave what happened in San Francisco in the past. —Ethan smelled the smell on his body, left the cup with disgust and said disappointed —. I'll be back first, see you tomorrow.

After saying goodbye to Sugar, Ethan left the bar, threw his coat in the trash, and drove home.

The next day, when I returned to the police station, several colleagues approached and continued to ask about the situation in San Francisco with concern. It wasn't until he stopped talking that Alma, the most nosy, reluctantly let him out on patrol.

Passing through the Valley Motel, I saw a short, fat figure walking on the side of the road. Ethan turned the wheel and the police car stopped in front of the man.

The man walking down the road saw the police car and instantly wanted to run as soon as he moved his feet. Then he remembered something and contained his movements.

Ethan rolled down the window, took off his sunglasses, and greeted passers-by.

—Hey, you're friends with the Sheriff, right?

—It's me, officer, just call me Leonard —replied the man nodding quickly and with a bow, showing a smile on his fat face.

He was clean and dressed in new sportswear, with a pair of sneakers on his feet. It looked much better than last night.

— Where are you going? —Ethan forced a smile.

—The Sheriff is waiting for me in front. I'm going to find it now.

Leonard carefully pointed to the parking lot across the street with an apologetic smile on his face.

—Okay, be careful. And welcome to Banshee.

Ethan put his sunglasses on the bridge of his nose and walked away.

—Bastard —spat Leonard on the ground bitterly when he saw the police car drive away.

At noon Ethan returned to the Miles restaurant for lunch. Daria, whom she hadn't seen in a long time, saw Ethan appear. He gave her a warm hug with surprise on her face and then took note to write down the food Ethan ordered.

Shortly after waiting, Daria came up with thick burgers and drinks. After placing the tray on the table, he sat unceremoniously in front of Ethan and asked about the San Francisco earthquake.

It was not until the guests at her side continued to urge her to take her order that Daria reluctantly left him. Ethan took a sip of the headache drink. You shouldn't have to talk about San Francisco every time an acquaintance met.

After lunch, when leaving the restaurant, Daria put a handkerchief in his hand and winked at him. With a cigarette in his mouth, he returned to the car and opened the handkerchief. He had the free time written and there was a lipstick mark on the bottom of the scarf. Ethan smiled and crumpled the scarf into a ball, threw it into the trash can next door, and left the parking lot.

—Ethan, where are you now? —while driving aimlessly, Emmett's radio rang and the voice was heard above the siren at full volume.

— Is this coming to life? —Ethan was surprised and quickly pressed the radio —. I am on the east side of Route 6.

—All right, do you want to come and see a great scene? Now I'm driving on the interstate in your direction.

Ethan's curiosity woke up, he stepped on the gas and drove onto the interstate highway. As we approached the intersection, a black Mustang roared past and the railings on the side of the road vibrated. He was going at a dangerous speed. Nearby was followed by police cars that occupied almost the entire road, with their lights blinking madly.

State Police, County Police, and their Banshee Town Police Cars were among them. I don't know what kind of hornet's nest the man who had escaped had dug.

— Why is there such a big scene? What did the Mustang in front do?

Ethan stepped on the gas and mixed with the avalanche of police cars. Seeing Emmett next to him, he pressed the radio and asked.

—Inside the Mustang across the street is a top-notch wanted criminal, nicknamed Kaneki.

—You weren't here before. This Kaneki killed two guys in Philly two days ago and has been running away. The county police have just intercepted him.

Ethan instantly understood why there was such a big chase. It was the first time he had experienced a high-speed chase, so he got excited.

After following him for a while, a state police van skillfully ran to the side of the Mustang, pointed to the correct position, and hit him with all his might. The car horse swayed from side to side a few times and slowed down.

Police cars followed one after the other and, after two more collisions, the Mustang overturned on the side of the road.

The police car quickly changed position and surrounded the Mustang in a semicircle.

Ethan stopped the car, stood behind the car door, raised his gun, and aimed at the Mustang, surrounded by the sound of slamming doors.

A South American man with a ponytail left the Mustang, holding an AK-47 rifle in his hand and looking fierce. Ethan shot first and blood gushed out of Kaneki's leg.

— Damn, who dared to shoot me bastards ?!

Kaneki screamed in pain and tried to take the AK rifle. The next moment, intense shots were heard around Ethan. He also followed the people next to him and spilled all the bullets from the gun.

Until the sound of the shooting stopped, Kaneki was unable to lift his mouth from the gun even half a minute before he died. A gust of breeze blew the smoke away from the scene, and Kaneki fell heavily backwards.

Ethan put the official Glock back in the holster. There was no need to hold the gun now. He followed Emmett and walked forward stepping on the bullet casings.

Frowning, he and a group of colleagues gathered to watch the tough gangster named Kaneki.
