Reincarnated in Banshee Town

Chapter 12: Blood and Vodka

The man in the visor hat slowly left the corner, his hands close to the ground, screaming not to shoot. Once his entire body was in sight, Ethan approached and handcuffed him.
After making sure, Ethan searched the spot and found a silver chandelier on the lid, obviously a pair of the one that had just fallen.
"You just stole two chandeliers and shot me," Ethan said, frowning.
Angry, he took off the visor cap from the thief and embedded it in his head.
-I was scared, I didn't want to hurt anyone. said the thief pitifully.
-Okay, now go to prison and go slowly. I hope you have a good time picking up the soap.
Ethan, still annoyed, raised his cap and asked Emmett to take the thief to the police station to prosecute him, and tomorrow he would go to his court reading and spend a few days in prison until his trial was dated. .
Returning to the place where he had gotten out of the car, Ethan knocked on the door of the mayor's wife.
"Mrs. Kendall, we just learned the suspect," Ethan reported his calm tone but with a slight touch of satisfaction.
-Oh, thank God, Ethan. All good? Were there no problems? Jenny replied with a sigh of relief, the weight of the concern evident in her voice.
Ethan smiled, although she couldn't see him.
-Nothing I can't handle. The guy tried to run, but he's already in custody.
-Okay, take care, Officer Morgan. And thanks.
After door zero, he headed back to the car, his mind already thinking about the next step of the day, maybe go to lunch.
In the afternoon, Alma received a radio notification asking her to go to the hospital.
Banshee Town Hospital, emergency room on the second floor.
As soon as Ethan got out of the elevator, he saw Siobhan looking through the glass of the room with a solemn expression.
-Do you remember that UFC fighter, Sánchez?
-If I remember, yesterday outside the Casino of the Kinaho tribe.
- This morning a woman was found outside Sánchez's motorhome. It was just wrapped in a bath towel. There were signs of being shaken, she has bruises all over her body, as well as some broken ribs.
Siobhan clenched his teeth and said:
-It goes without saying that you should know what happened to him, right?
Ethan nodded and looked into the room through the glass. The woman lying in the hospital bed had wounds treated all over her face, she was so bloated that it was almost impossible to recognize her.
Hood was actually in the room, comforting the injured woman.
-Do you point to Sanchez as the aggressor?
-Yes, she said that Damien Sánchez had raped her since last night. She is a waitress at the casino, apparently Sánchez asked her to bring a bottle of champagne to her trailer. Between champagne and some cocaine, after having sex Sánchez became violent.
As soon as he finished speaking, Hood left the room.
-Boss, what should we do? Siobhan asked enthusiastically.
There was a fierce look in Hood's eyes.
-What we should do, let's go. Let's lock up the damn.
Several police cars, with the lights on, ran to the casino entrance and stopped. The parking valet motioned for them to park the cars. But the officers had no intention of stopping, the boy trembled and quickly stepped aside.
Inside the casino, the space in the middle had been cleared and there was a half octagonal cage installed. Tonight was an exhibition match, and the main match would not start until tomorrow.
The casino was crowded. This type of event was rare in Banshee Town. Everyone who had time attended the site and congratulated Proctor and the chief of the Kihano tribe.
In the ring, Sánchez hugged several guests and took photographs while making signs of peace with his hands. Sánchez's smile faltered when he saw Hood and the others enter. He noticed something and looked at his agent, Dunn, and Proctor.
Proctor quickly stepped forward and reached out his hand to stop Hood. This boxing match had been planned for a long time and he did not want the event to be ruined.
-Boss Hood, I heard what happened to that poor girl, how are you now?
- It looks like a train ran over her. His face and two broken ribs are shattered. Hood said stiffly.
-I'm very sorry about what happened to you, but can I ask you to wait until after the fight tomorrow night before arresting Sánchez?
Proctor looked at Hood and said seriously:
-You have to know that this fight is related to the interests of many people. If canceled, the interests of many people will be hurt.
-Are you crazy? -Siobhan, who was behind, came forward excitedly. Was the girl hurt like that and all you think about is profit?
-Siobhan, calm down, I'll take care of it.
-Boss Hood, you really won't be considering your proposal. You saw with your own eyes what kind of damage that girl suffered.
At that time, Sánchez's agent, Dunn, also came up and said:
-Sheriff, first of all, I would like to thank you for your careful consideration. You know, these issues can always be resolved.
"You mean this happened more than once?" Hood's eyes sparkled dangerously.
Dunn smiled.
-Please, we are all adults. I understand the rules. I'm going to the hospital to visit the girl tomorrow. Isn't it just for money that they choose to sleep with celebrities? I will give you an amount that is satisfactory to her.
-Your name is Dunn, right? Hood said. Get out of the way right now, stay quiet and don't appear before my eyes, otherwise I guarantee you will regret it.
Hood pushed Dunn and was about to walk into the ring.
"Wait a minute, let me make you Chief." Ethan reached out his hand to stop Hood.
When Ethan entered the casino, a message rang in his mind and a new task appeared on the system panel.
"Defeat Damien Sánchez and reward the skill book +1".
Of course, you couldn't miss out on getting system rewards. Although he was facing a professional UFC fighter, he had to try, otherwise he wouldn't know when the next mission would be, he couldn't let it go.
"Okay, be careful." Hood looked at Ethan unexpectedly and stopped.
Ethan nodded, stepped forward, and walked through the crowd. As he was about to approach the ring, a bodyguard saw Dunn wink at him and reluctantly stepped forward to stop Ethan.
Without saying a word, Ethan kicked him in the abdomen. The bodyguard couldn't help but take a few steps back, knocking down a table and falling to the ground.
-Officer, come on, Benny is just doing his job, WTF? Sánchez said, putting aside the woman in his arms, who was waiting to be photographed. He walked to the edge of the ring, fixed the suit, then bent down and looked at Ethan.
-Mr. Sánchez, you are detained for sexual assault and serious injuries.
Sánchez's face changed momentarily when he heard Ethan's words, then he laughed and rubbed his head with his hands as if with a certain mockery. He decided that even if he was arrested, he would hit the small-town police in front of him hard. Sánchez straightened up, stretched out his hands and said with a smile:
-I'm under arrest? he asked with a mocking smile, his tone full of challenge. Please come and put the handcuffs on me, if you can ...
The other part was not armed and was in public view. Ethan couldn't just shoot him, otherwise he could end up in jail before Sanchez.
Ethan simply took off his service belt. There was a lot of equipment in it, which would only affect his movements. He raised his hand and threw the belt at Siobhan, and walked quickly into the ring.
Sánchez clenched his fists and clasped his hands together, stretching in the direction of Ethan, with a grimace of contempt on his lips.
Ethan went into the ring with determined steps, his gaze fixed on Sánchez, who watched him with a mixture of contempt and fun. The audience around the ring roared with excitement, anticipating the confrontation. Sánchez, with his imposing figure and reputation as a professional wrestler, did not seem to take Ethan seriously.
"I warned you, police," said Sánchez, launching a quick blow that Ethan barely managed to dodge. This is my terrain.
Ethan did not respond in words. Instead, he released a live to Sánchez's face, fast enough to surprise him. The blow connected cleanly, causing Sánchez to step back a couple of steps, stunned by the force of the impact.
Sánchez, now more serious, began to launch a series of quick blows, seeking to end the fight forcefully. Ethan blocked some, but received others in the body, feeling the power of each one. However, he kept his composure, using his agility to dodge and counter accurately.
At a critical moment, Sánchez let out a cry of pain and released the hand that controlled Ethan. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Ethan tilted his head back slightly and hit hard forward. A fierce head butt landed squarely on the bridge of Sánchez's nose, which instantly collapsed. The blood began to flow continuously.
-Shit! What are you doing? Sánchez shouted, covering his nose as blood slipped between his fingers.
-Do you think this is a UFC fight? Ethan snapped, rushing forward.
With a quick movement, Ethan hugged Sánchez's waist, lowered his head, and ran forward with a strong impact. Both fell from the ring, knocking down several tables, and the crowd withdrew like a tide, leaving a clearing around them.
From the edge of the ring, Siobhan looked worried as he held a cane in his hands.
-Why don't we go upstairs and help him? she asked, uneasily, to Hood.
"Don't worry, it doesn't seem like a big problem," Hood replied, clenching his fists, eager to join the match.
After falling to the ground, she climbed on him, began to hit him with her fists as if they were raindrops. Ethan, taking several hits, felt that something was wrong. He released his left hand, which was blocking the blows, and hit Sánchez in the face. Then, without wasting time, he stretched out his left hand like lightning and struck Sánchez's crotch with all his might.
The burly fighter was paralyzed, his face contracted in a grimace of pain. He gave out a couple of moans before snuggling up and falling aside, completely incapacitated by the blow.
Ethan, breathing hard, wiped the blood off his face, clenched his teeth, and quickly crawled toward Sánchez. He grabbed his arm, pressed his legs against the fighter's neck, and, with unrelenting force, twisted his arm until he heard a dry crunch. Sánchez screamed in pain, tears welled up in his eyes as he hit the ground with his free hand.
-Did you think this was a game? Ethan snapped, panting. Do you like playing with helpless women? Do you like hitting them? How it feels cursed.
With an expression of uncontrollable fury, Ethan rode over Sánchez. Under the bright lights of the casino, viewers watched in horror as Ethan raised his fists and dropped them over and over onto Sánchez's face.
-Enough, Ethan! You're going to beat him to death! Siobhan shouted as she and Hood rushed to stop him.
Hood and Siobhan managed to push Ethan away from Sánchez, who lay on the ground, covered in blood and completely defeated. His endurance capacity had completely vanished.
Ethan, still breathing hard, looked at Siobhan and smiled slightly, despite the pain he felt throughout his body. He knew that he had faced a professional fighter and had been victorious, Sánchez's blows had not been easy to bear. Fortunately, he had managed to stand up and fulfill his mission.
After Ethan calmed down for a moment, the service belt fastened around his waist. Then he took a handful of ice cubes from the ice cube next to him on the table and applied them to his face. -Siobhan, call an ambulance for this garbage. he said, before turning to his partner. Boss, I think I need a drink.
-No problem. Siobhan replied, nodding decisively.
Hood slapped Ethan on the shoulder. Unexpectedly, this guy seemed so gentle and affable, but his cruelty had left Sánchez in a state that would keep him in the hospital for several months. Candy was supposed to be the referee in that night's exhibition match, but, for obvious reasons, the event was suspended. Hood drove Ethan back to the bar in his car.
Candy was behind the bar, with an expression of concern as she took a towel wrapped in ice cubes and handed it to Ethan. -Here you go, it will make you feel better.
"Sugar, this time give me vodka, pure, ice-free," Ethan ordered, wiping the blood off his face with the towel.
-Are you sure you don't need to go to the hospital for a checkup? You look terrible, "said Sugar, serving the wine for him and Hood.
-It is not necessary, it is just a skin injury. Just rest and everything will be fine, "said Ethan, drinking the glass of wine with trembling hands and drinking it in one gulp, feeling the burning of alcohol in his throat.
Hood, playing with the glass of wine, watched Ethan curiously. -Why are you doing this? You know, you can let me do it.
Ethan let out a long sigh, the alcohol relaxing him. -What he did to that girl was horrible and I want to do something for her. At least Sánchez can no longer do that to women.
After drinking having a few drinks of pure vodka, Ethan felt his whole body had relaxed. "By the way, after you get rid of the gold watch, give me some of the money," he added, wiping the blood off his face with the towel.
-What gold watch? Hood's hand stopped for a moment, and then he took his shot of whiskey and drank slowly, as if nothing had happened.
-Sánchez's gold watch is in your pants pocket, right? Do not be nervous. I don't care Sánchez is an idiot, just give me a part, after all the one who took the blows was me. Ethan said with a smile.
The atmosphere in the bar suddenly became calm. Hood drank silently while Sugar cleaned the counter with a towel. The atmosphere was tense, but at least at that moment, it seemed that things would calm down.
Suddenly, the sound of brakes coming from outside broke the peace of the place. The door opened with a knock and Proctor entered angrily, stopping at the entrance and looking at them with a mixture of disdain and frustration.
-Kai, can I get you something? he asked, sugar, trying to lighten the environment.
Proctor ignored him and turned his gaze to Hood. -Know what? Chief Hood, you made a lot of people lose a lot of money tonight.
-You made me lose a lot of money! -Proctor increased the tone, clearly altered.
-Why don't you tell Sánchez? He was the one who caused all that, wasn't he? He should have kept his pants up and not cause trouble.-Hood got up and walked towards Proctor with a challenging attitude.
"I didn't say they couldn't arrest him, I just asked them to postpone it for a day," Proctor replied in a reprimand tone.
Proctor paused and continued. -There are some things you don't know. I had a very good relationship with his previous police chiefs. I would not like this friendship to be lost,
-It's a shame we don't have this kind of friendship. And, Mr. Proctor, what makes you think you can come here at night and tell me what should and should not the police chief do? -Hood responded with a coldness that contrasted with the charged environment.
Proctor didn't expect such a violent reaction from Hood, but he didn't care. He smiled disdainfully and ignored Hood, heading towards the bar with a nervous attitude.
"Mr. Proctor, if you don't mind, we'd like to keep drinking," said Ethan, raising his glass in a toast.
Proctor looked at the wounds on Ethan's face and tapped the bar with his fingers a few times before speaking. -Forget it. I hope such unpleasant things don't happen again in the future.
With those words, Proctor left the bar, leaving Ethan, Hood and Sugar in an environment that, although still tense. Ethan dropped into his seat, exhaling a long sigh. Sugar approached with another glass of vodka for him, while Hood was silent, watching the events.
Ethan took a sip of his drink, feeling the alcohol help calm his sore body. -Thank you. -He said with a tired smile. Sometimes drastic measures have to be taken to make people realize what is wrong.
Hood looked at Ethan with a slight nod. -You did well. Sánchez is no longer a threat, and Proctor ... well, we'll see what he does.
Candy, although still worried, smiled. -I hope things are less complicated next time.
Ethan raised his glass in a toast to his friends. -For justice, although sometimes it comes with a high price.
And so, as the bar returned to normal, the three settled into their seats, knowing that the night had brought more than just a fight.
