Reincarnated As Shiba Clan’s Heir! (Bleach-Gin)

Ch47- Training With Isshin

Kazuki let this information sink in, his gaze lingering on Karakura Town. To protect this place, to ensure the safety of its residents both seen and unseen, was a duty he was ready to embrace. The journey ahead would not be easy, but the challenge was one he was ready to face.

As they finished their discussion, Kazuki, Kengo, and Isshin stood, the latter leading Kazuki to the training area. The atmosphere changed as they entered the training ground. The gravity of their earlier conversation lingered, yet it was complemented by the underlying energy of the bustling training field.

The field itself was an impressive array of training modules. From sparring areas to obstacle courses, it was clearly designed to cater to a variety of training needs. Kazuki could see several members of the 10th Division in the midst of their training, their determination and focus palpable.

This was the real world of the Shinigami. His world now.

Isshin led Kazuki out into the training field, their footfalls echoing through the grounds. The sun cast long shadows, the day winding down, but the field was still abuzz with the activity of dedicated Shinigami. The air was electrified with focused energy and a sense of camaraderie.

Upon their entrance, some of the trainees paused their routines, curious glances flitting towards the pair. Whispers spread like wildfire; the sight of the Academy's top student facing off against the 3rd Seat of the 10th Division was not a common one.

With a confident stride, Isshin guided Kazuki to the center of the field, all eyes subtly turning their way. He unsheathed his training sword, the gleam of the blade catching the setting sun. He raised it, adopting an easy stance, and beckoned for Kazuki to do the same. The younger man did so, his movements precise and focused.

The first few exchanges were light, almost tentative. Kazuki moved with a calm precision, his footwork deft and his strikes measured. Isshin responded in kind, a playful smile dancing on his lips. This was not a full-blown spar, but an assessment of sorts. Isshin was trying to gauge Kazuki's style, his speed, his decision-making.

As the match continued, the onlookers began to see the depth of Kazuki's ability. His movements flowed like a river, each attack seamlessly transitioning into the next. His defense was an impenetrable fortress, his calm and focused demeanor unyielding.

Suddenly, Isshin changed the pace, his strikes becoming faster and more ferocious. Kazuki adjusted to the shift with ease, his sword meeting each of Isshin's attacks. Sweat began to bead on his forehead, but his gaze remained locked on Isshin, his expression focused.

"So, Kazuki," Isshin called out, his tone casual despite the intense sparring match. "How are things going at home?"

Kazuki parried a high swing from Isshin, sending a quick thrust towards his opponent's exposed side. "They're going well, Isshin," he replied, his voice steady despite the exertion. "The Shiba household has been more than welcoming."

Isshin deflected Kazuki's attack with a laugh, his expression relaxed despite the rapid pace of their exchange. "That's good to hear. It's been a while since we've had a good chat, hasn't it?"

"Yes, it has," Kazuki admitted, sending a flurry of strikes towards Isshin, who deflected them with ease. His eyes never wavered from his opponent, his focus evident. "Your duties keep you busy."

"Well," Isshin chuckled, stepping back to create some distance between them. The momentary respite in the training session didn't halt the watchful gazes of their peers. Their swords momentarily lowered, a lighthearted banter sparking amidst the intense sparring session. "Let's rectify that, shall we? How are things developing with Kukaku? Are you two a thing yet?" A teasing glint sparked in Isshin's eyes as he lobbed the question at Kazuki.

An amused smile danced on Kazuki's lips. He matched Isshin's lightheartedness, knowing it was a part of their relationship. Isshin was a mentor and a friend, the one who'd introduced him to this world he was now a part of. "Oh yeah, we are madly in love," he chuckled, the laughter bringing a glow to his eyes.

Isshin blinked in surprise, then snorted in amusement. "I know you're joking," he said, his expression sobering slightly. His gaze met Kazuki's, the glint of amusement fading to be replaced by a stern look. "But that lass has feelings for you. Don't you dare to hurt my niece, or I might hurt you back."

Kazuki's smile faded, a thoughtful expression settling on his features. He met Isshin's stern gaze with understanding. "I won't, Isshin," he said sincerely, "I'd never want to cause harm to anyone, least of all Kukaku." He meant his words. His life in the Shiba clan was comfortable and peaceful, and he had no intention of disrupting that peace. He did care for Kukaku, but his feelings were complex and tangled. And there was another woman in his mind, her identity a mystery that often kept him awake at night.

The fiery-haired woman haunted his dreams, her azure eyes like twin skies he often found himself lost in. He didn't know who she was, but her presence had a deep-rooted impact on him. He'd never seen her in the real world, but the imprint of her silhouette was burned into his mind. She was like a puzzle, an enigma that he desperately yearned to solve.

Isshin seemed to notice the shift in his demeanor, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Is there something you're not telling me, Kazuki?" he asked, an undertone of curiosity in his voice.

Kazuki met his gaze, a part of him wanting to share the haunting dreams that visited him every night. But he held back, not wanting to burden Isshin with his troubles. "It's nothing," he deflected, summoning a small smile to his lips. "Just lost in thoughts."

Before Isshin could probe further, Kazuki changed the subject. "Should we resume our training, Isshin?" he asked, shifting his weight and readying himself for another bout of sparring. This was his world now, and he was determined to face it with strength and perseverance.

Isshin gave him a knowing look but didn't push for more information. He grinned, the teasing glint returning to his eyes. "Alright then, let's get back to it," he said, assuming his fighting stance once again.

With a nod of acknowledgment, Kazuki readied himself. He fell into his combat stance, the mystery woman pushed to the back of his mind for now. They resumed their training, their conversation becoming a forgotten whisper amidst the rhythmic clash of swords and the ongoing hustle of the training grounds.
