Reincarnated As Shiba Clan’s Heir! (Bleach-Gin)

Ch45- Internship

The sharp, clear morning air of Gotei 13 buzzed with a silent yet palpable energy as the Shin'o Academy students arrived, their white hiyoris adorning their bodies, signifying their status. Their Asauchi swords hung at their waists, still slumbering, their true forms not yet unveiled. In total, there were twenty of them, the future generation of Soul Reapers in the making.

Among these bright-eyed students were Kazuki, Yoruichi, Lisa, Isane, Kensei, Mashiro, Hiyori, Urahara, and Aizen, stamding orderly in two lines, the vast garden echoing their anticipation.

Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto sat quietly, his eyes half-closed, conveying an air of stern tranquility. His silent scrutiny was like an unseen force, pressing down upon the students in attendance. The Captain Commander of the Gotei 13 did not rush his inspection; instead, he took his time, his half-lidded gaze passing over each student in turn.

Lining the lush gardens of Gotei 13 were the thirteen captains, each a paragon of the Shinigami ideal in their own unique way.

First in the line, Chika Shonin, Captain of the 2nd Division. His shaggy white hair danced with the morning breeze, golden earrings glinting under the sunlight. The gold-trimmed orange scarf around his neck and the matching waistband added a touch of vibrance to his standard captain's attire.

Next to him, Kinroku Izuhara, Captain of the 3rd Division. His grey hair was neatly parted to the side, while narrow spectacles with yellow lenses concealed the intelligence in his eyes. The thick green waistband cinching his shihakushō seemed to reinforce his disciplined demeanor.

Retsu Unohana, Captain of the 4th Division, was an image of serene elegance. Her black hair was styled in a loose ponytail, flowing gently down her back. Her blue eyes radiated kindness and understanding, a calming presence among the stern faces of her fellow captains.

Beside her, Shinji Hirako, Captain of the 5th Division, was a picture of cheeky defiance. His jaw-length blonde hair and toothy grin reflected a youthful vitality, a contrast to the solemnity of the gathering.

Next in line was Ginrei Kuchiki, Captain of the 6th Division. His long grey hair and matching mustache and eyes were a testament to his age and wisdom. The white scarf around his neck, a family heirloom, was a stark contrast to his standard captain's haori.

Sitting across from them was the 7th Division's captain, Nobutsuna Shigyō. His long black goatee, darkened wrists, and the fur stoat draped around his neck gave him an air of austere elegance.

Shunsui Kyōraku, Captain of the 8th Division, was the picture of casual nonchalance. His wavy brown hair was tied into a long ponytail, and the pink floral kimono he draped over his captain's uniform spoke volumes about his laid-back demeanor.

Entetsu Kumoi, Captain of the 9th Division, towered over his fellow captains. The wavy scar running up from his left eye and his golden teeth gave him an intimidating presence. He wore his captain's haori loosely, revealing a tapestry of scars etched onto his chest.

Kengo Shiba, Captain of the 10th Division, commanded an aura of authority. His dark hair was tied back, a few strands falling onto his forehead, as he carried the piercing gaze, the signature trait of the Shiba clan.

Kenpachi Kuruyashiki, Captain of the 11th Division, was a man who appeared as formidable as the stories told about him. His tall, muscular physique with dark messy hair and notable chest hair, gave him an imposing appearance.

Next was Kirio Hikifune, Captain of the 12th Division. Her long purple hair flowed freely down her back, while the silver adornment in her bun glinted under the sunlight.

Jūshirō Ukitake, Captain of the 13th Division, maintained a peaceful demeanor despite his obvious illness. His white hair, once black as the midnight sky, served as a stark reminder of the battle he fought against his own body every day.

As Yamamoto's gaze passed over the captains, the air seemed to thicken, the morning's tranquility replaced by a silent yet resonant expectancy.

"Let us begin," he announced, his voice deep and resonant. The weight of his words seemed to dispel the earlier morning's calm, replacing it with the electric thrill of anticipation.

A hush descended upon the garden as Yamamoto's words echoed through the air. The captain-commander's voice held the calm before a storm, it was an invocation to the coming challenge and a beckoning for the birth of a new generation of Soul Reapers.

"Today, you shall have the opportunity to learn from the finest in Soul Society. Our esteemed captains will choose their interns." His voice was like the roll of distant thunder, a resounding proclamation to start the day's events.

Yamamoto's gaze landed on Chika Shonin first. Shonin, whose loyalty and dedication had been tested for over a millennium. His face was a mask of calm, a silent testament to the trials and tribulations he had faced during the founding of the Gotei 13.

Beside him, Izuhara was no different. His own tenure as captain mirroring Shonin's. Both men, seemingly etched from stone, faced the students, their eyes reflecting a deep-seated wisdom only time could impart.

Unohana's gaze met the captain-commander's briefly, a flicker of understanding passing between them. Once known as Kenpachi, the title was a testament to her strength, a memory of a time when she was the embodiment of the fierce 11th division, before she chose the path of healing. Now, she offered the students a soft smile, an invitation to learn and grow under her guidance.

Nobutsuna and Kumoi, both strong pillars of the Gotei 13, stood side by side. Their leadership, spanning centuries, had seen the Soul Society through countless challenges. Today, they bore witness to yet another landmark in its history.

Shinji, Ukitake, and Shunsui stood apart, their tenure much shorter than the elder captains. Despite this, their presence commanded respect and acknowledgment. Their relative youth did not belittle their achievements or diminish their authority.

The Shiba clan patriarch, Kengo, and the venerable Kuchiki elder, Ginrei, stood in the middle. Both held sway within the aristocratic circles, their lineage adding an additional layer of depth to their captainship. They carried their positions with a quiet dignity that belied the power and influence they held.

Yamamoto finally rested his gaze on the captains, a final silent nod of approval before turning his attention back to the students.

"The selection will proceed in order of seniority. Captain Shonin, you may begin."
