Race
The rest of the movie passed smoothly as Alex and Alice focused on watching the horrific scenes.
"It felt a bit fake," Alex said as he watched the ending credits rolling through the screen.
Alice hummed as she nodded her head showing her assent.
"That's true, especially the blood," Alice said as she turned to face Alex.
"The blood wasn't that bad, it was their emotions. I feel like the actors could have done a better job at portraying the horrific situation"
Alice looked at him and then said with a slight smile.
"I'm sure you know all about how humans react in those situations huh?" Alice asked Alex who felt his palm starting to get sweaty.
"Of course, I wouldn't know much, it was just my opinion. I could be wrong" Alex said and then grabbed the other movie.
"How about we watch this one next? It's pretty good" Alex said as he tried to swerve the direction the conversation was heading in.
Alice gave him a knowing smile but didn't press further, however, instead of agreeing to the next movie, she stood up on her feet.
"Rather than that how about we do something more exciting?" Alice said as she bowed and put her face in front of Alex's.
"Something more exciting?" Alex muttered as he slowly moved his head back.
"Yeah, how about it?" Alice said as she gave him a smile.
For some reason, Alex felt an emotion that he hadn't felt for a long time.
'Why does it feel like I'm the prey and she's the predator?' Alex thought as he brought himself further into the couch, trying to slowly scoot away from the vampiress.
"What exactly do you have in mind?" Alex asked Alice who stood straight once more.
"Going in the forest," Alice said as if that was an obvious thing.
Alex felt just like Bella had earlier in the morning like his head had been slammed by a sudden surprise.
"Forest?" Alex asked his voice clearly showing his confusion.
"Yeah, I wanted to check out your abilities, I still haven't seen anything you can do you know?" Alice said as she faced Alex.
"Right," Alex said, nodding his head.
Then Alice came close to his face again, this time her lips were right next to his ear.
Her whisper sent a shock through Alex's body.
"Or maybe you were expecting some different excitement?"
Her voice was slow and velvety, it caused shivers to go through Alex and made him take a sudden breath.
"Alice..." Alex started but was quickly taken aback as Alice stepped back and showed him a mischievous smile.
"Shall we get going then?" Alice asked with that same smile on her face.
*Sigh*
"Yeah let's go," Alex said, already exhausted by her.
'She's going to kill me someday' Alex thought jokingly to himself as he got up and headed to the front door.
Grabbing a pair of shoes, Alex wore them and went to the porch.
Turning around, Alex waited until Alice finished tying her shoes, looking down at her Alex tried his hardest not to let his eyes wander.
'Don't look, don't look. Think with your brain, with your brain Alex' Alex thought to himself as he turned around to look at the forest.
His face showed a small grimace as he gazed at the forest.
'God damn do I wanna look' Alex thought as he imagined Alice bent down.
Shaking his head, Alex once more tried clearing the thoughts out of his head.
'Bad Johnny, bad. Stay down, don't rise up' Alex's thoughts continued as he watched the Forest.
"What are you looking at that has you making such a focused expression?" Alice said as she put her hand on Alex's shoulder.
"Uh, just the trees, either way, let's go," Alex said as he started walking toward the forest on the other side of the street.
"Sure," Alice said as she walked behind him, her smile widening just a smidge.
Heading into the forest, Alex and Alice walked in the direction of the Cullens rather than the Reservation.
"This should be far enough, we are already in our territory so the wolves can't say anything," Alice said as she stopped and turned toward Alex.
"So what do we try out?" Alex asked as he looked at the pixie vampire.
"Hmm, how about we test our speed?" Alice asked
Nodding his head, Alex replied to Alice.
"Sure, where do we put the finish line?"
"How about we say whoever makes it to my house wins?" Alice asked as she looked at Alex, her eyes already shined from her competitive spirit.
Humming, Alex thought for a moment and then nodded.
"Sure, but wait a moment," Alex said as he started taking his shoes off.
"Huh? What are you doing?" Alice asked confused as she stared at him.
"When you see why, you will understand what I'm doing," Alex said mysteriously, or at least he tried.
"You're not good at acting mysterious, definitely need to upgrade your level," Alice said as she looked at him with a straight face.
"Right," Alex said, his mouth twitching at the criticism.
'And here I thought that I actually did a good job' Alex thought to himself.
Finally, with the shoes and socks off, Alex holding them in his hands, he turned toward Alice.
"Ready whenever you are." His eyes turned red as he said the words.
Alice simply smiled as she started counting.
"5"
"4"
"3"
And she ran forward leaving Alex standing there looking at her disappearing back.
"Well damn, that's totally something I would do" Alex muttered, and then a grin quickly overtook his expression.
'Not fast enough, however, nowhere near enough'
Clenching his claves, Alex didn't move for a second until.
*Boom*
With a large explosive sound and the ground beneath his feet flying up in the air, Alex ran forward.
His speed in contrast to Alice's who could still somewhat be seen as a blur was on a totally different level.
It was like he had disappeared in an instant.
'I can't hold this speed in the forest though' Alex thought as the ground itself started to give way every time he stepped on it, making it harder and harder to go faster.
Not to mention how he still couldn't control his speed that well and would most likely end up with his face in a random tree if he kept increasing the speed.
'Doesn't matter though' Alex thought as he saw Alice's back.
