Chapter 2: hatch
90 days had passed, and I could get out now. I wiggled, and suddenly, I heard a voice "Aetherius come here 1 egg move!"
And another different voice, "I'm coming!"
Aetherius spoke, "witch one that move?"
Another voice been heard "it the silver one!" I wiggled again
Aetherius spoke "it about to hatch Thyriatrix!"
My claws burst through the eggs, and Aetherius spoke, "I see a claw!" I creack the egg even more, and I finally got out
Aetherius spoke "hey there little one!" He patted my head gently at thought. I was frightened a bit, but I was now calm
Thyriatrix my mother beganto cleaning me up by licking my silver scales and she grooming me until my silver scales shining brightly from the sun
As I look around, I see 5 more eggs and Aetherius that is my father spoke "Ah this is your younger siblings, Tharros." I thought 'Tharros that is my name?'
My father spoke "to be fair you are an odd Hatchling I'm not familiar with your gender so I don't you are our son or our daughter" I mean they are not even wrong I'm genderless I don't think I have hear that to defined to the parent child
I look at myself. My scales are silver and my father is white/albino, and my mother is light green
I see eggs in different colors navy blue, dark bronze,Amethyst,Rose gold, and forest green
As I approached the navy blue egg, I could sense a faint humming noise coming from within. My father, Aetherius, watched me with curiosity, seemingly eager to see how I would interact with my siblings.
I gently touched the egg with my snout, and the humming grew louder. Suddenly, the egg started to crack, and a small, navy blue claw poked out.
"Ah, looks like you're going to meet your sibling!" Aetherius exclaimed.
The egg cracked further, and a small, navy blue dragon hatchling emerged. Our eyes met, and I felt an instant connection.
The navy blue hatchling looked up at me and let out a tiny roar. I responded by softly nudging them with my snout.
Aetherius smiled, pleased with our interaction. "And this little one," he said, looking at the navy blue hatchling, "will be called Lyriath."
I looked at Lyriath, then back at Aetherius, still trying to process everything. Being a reincarnated dragon was overwhelming, but with Aetherius' guidance, I felt more at ease.
I watched as Lyriath stumbled and fell, his tiny claws waving in the air. I instinctively reached out with my own claws, gently helping them up.
Aetherius chuckled. "Looks like you're already taking on a protective role, Tharros."
I looked up at him, unsure of what to make of his comment. But before I could respond, another egg started to crack.
"Ah, looks like we've got another one hatching!" Aetherius exclaimed.
I turned to see a dark bronze egg cracking open, and a small, dark bronze hatchling emerging. Our eyes met, and I felt another surge of connection.
Aetherius smiled. "And this little one will be called Vyraxys."
I looked at Vyraxys, then back at Aetherius, feeling a sense of wonder at the new additions to our family.
As the minute went on, more eggs hatched, and I met my other siblings: Thyriatrix's eggs had produced a Forest Green hatchling named Kaidorix, an amethyst hatchling named Nyxoria, a rose gold hatchling named Lyrixa.
I was overwhelmed but excited to get to know each of them better.
It had been only a day since I hatched, but I was already starting to feel a sense of comfort in my new scales. As I lay next to my siblings, I began to notice the subtle differences in our colors. Lyriath's navy blue scales glistened in the dim light, while Vyraxys's dark bronze scales seemed to absorb the shadows.
I thought back to my past life as a knight, eliminating beasts and monsters in the name of King Arineth. The memories still felt vivid, but I couldn't help but wonder how they would shape my new life as a dragon.
Aetherius and Thyriatrix watched over us with gentle eyes, their presence reassuring. I felt grateful to have them as my parents, and I knew that I still had much to learn from them.
As I drifted off to sleep, surrounded by my new family, I felt a sense of excitement and trepidation about the days ahead. What would it mean to be a dragon in this world? And how would my past life shape my future?
I was playing with Lyriath, chasing each other around the nesting area, when suddenly everything around me went dark. I stumbled, confused, and disoriented.
But as I looked around, I realized that everyone else seemed perfectly fine. Lyriath was still playing, and Aetherius and Thyriatrix were watching us with calm smiles.
I blinked, trying to clear my vision, but the darkness persisted. It was as if a shadow had fallen over my eyes alone.
I shook my head, trying to shake off the feeling of unease. But the darkness lingered, making me wonder if something was wrong with me.
I spoke, "wha...where am I?"
Aetherius's voice was calm and soothing. "Tharros, you're in our nesting area. You're safe, son."
I blinked again, trying to clear my vision. The darkness slowly receded, replaced by the warm glow of the nesting area. I saw Lyriath looking at me with concern, and Aetherius's gentle eyes watching over me.
I took a deep breath, trying to remember what had just happened. But my memories seemed hazy, as if shrouded in a mist.
"What...what happened?" I asked again, my voice shaking slightly.
Aetherius's expression turned thoughtful. "You had a bit of a hallucination, Tharros. It's not uncommon for young dragons to experience vivid dreams or visions. But this seemed different. Can you tell me what you saw?"
An outline of a wolf appeared in front of me, and it was big, and it spoke, "Hello again, it me the one that eats you alive!" It eyes and mouth glow blood red
I took a step back, my heart racing. "W-what do you want?" I stuttered.
The wolf's glowing red eyes seemed to bore into my soul. "I've come to remind you of your past, Tharros," it growled, its voice low and menacing. "You may have been reborn as a dragon, but your memories remain. And I'll make sure you never forget the terror you felt in your past life."
Aetherius voice was calm and concerned "Tharros what wrong? You seem frightened
But the wolf's words had already struck a chord within me. Memories long buried began to resurface, and I felt a chill run down my spine.
I let out a frightened hiss, trying to express my distress. Aetherius's concerned expression deepened, and he approached me calmly.
"Tharros, what's wrong?" he asked softly.
I hissed again, trying to convey the terror that the wolf's words had instilled in me.
Aetherius nodded sympathetically, even though he didn't understand what I was trying to communicate. "It's okay, son. You're safe now. Just calm down."
But the wolf's words still lingered in my mind, filling me with a sense of dread.
I gazed up at Aetherius's majestic wings, and a spark of inspiration struck me. I reached out with my small claws, grasping for the edge of his wing. Aetherius looked down at me, curious, and I pulled myself closer, trying to convey my idea. I wrapped my tiny claws around the scales on his wing, holding tight, and looked up at him with pleading eyes.
Aetherius spoke, "Tharros, you want to fly?" Aetherius asked, his voice filled with surprise and amusement. "You're still just a hatchling, son. You're not ready to fly on your own yet."
I shake my head and hide under his wings and no coming
Aetherius chuckled and wrapped his wings around me, shielding me from the outside world. "Alright, alright. You don't want to fly, and you don't want to come out. You're safe, Tharros. Whatever scared you, it's gone now. You're safe with me." He spoke softly, his voice a gentle rumble, and held me close, letting the warmth of his wings envelop me.
Thyriatrix saw me under his wings
Thyriatrix's voice was laced with concern as she approached us. "Aetherius, what's wrong? Why is Tharros hiding under your wings?" She gently touched my scales with her snout, trying to coax me out. "Little one, what's wrong? You're safe. Come out and tell us what's bothering you."
I didn't come out and hid myself even more
Thyriatrix's expression softened, and she nodded understandingly. "It's okay, little one. You're safe. We won't make you come out until you're ready." She looked up at Aetherius, and they exchanged a gentle glance. Aetherius wrapped his wings more snugly around me, holding me close. Thyriatrix sat down beside us, her presence calm and reassuring, and the three of us sat there in silence, waiting for me to feel safe enough to emerge.
Aetherius lay down belly first and kept his wings around me and hid me
Aetherius's body formed a protective barrier around me, his wings tucked in tightly to shield me from the outside world. Thyriatrix nodded in understanding, seeming to sense that I needed a sense of security and safety. She lay down beside us, her eyes watchful but gentle, and the three of us rested there in silence, Aetherius's wings a warm and comforting shield around me.
I feel safety and calm comfort hiding under his wings, and I thought,'I think his wings is now my safe haven'
As I snuggled deeper under Aetherius's wings, I felt my heart rate slow and my breathing steady. The warmth and protection of his wings enveloped me, chasing away the lingering fear and anxiety. I felt a deep sense of comfort and security, knowing that I was safe and protected. Aetherius's wings had become my sanctuary, my haven, and I knew that as long as I was under their shelter, nothing could harm me.
