Chapter 7: New Home
Half a month has passed since the newcomers moved into my house, which I sometimes call to myself an embassy.
All this time they were acclimatizing to earthly society and preparing documents.
Mom simply adopted Lala, and I took up bodyguards. It wasn't that difficult once I learned the process from Miss Kobayashi through Ilulu.
Having spoken with her for the first time face to face, I realized from her tired eyes that we were kindred spirits. When she found out that aliens had settled in with me, she patted me on the back in understanding.
From then on, we made sure to drink coffee at least a couple of times a week.
After I helped them obtain Japanese citizenship, I began their full-fledged art training, which they quickly became involved in. They had talent, especially Zastin, who began to acquire his own style.
Lala also tried and I would say that she was no worse. But she quickly got bored, so I gave her a credit card to create her inventions.
She wanted to refuse, saying that she had already ordered everything through the intergalactic store, but I was able to convince her to leave the card for personal needs.
I used to consider my house quite spacious, but after permanent residents arrived, there was not enough space, especially since there were no guest rooms left.
Not a house, but some kind of hostel...
To solve the problem, I started looking for more spacious housing, but such places were correspondingly more expensive.
I had to look at every house I was interested in until I found a fairly cheap Japanese-style estate in an old neighborhood.
The entire interior was updated and no hidden problems were found, such as problems with pipes, heating or communications. I was especially struck by the vast courtyard with a luxurious garden.
The only problem was the lack of rent, that is, I was buying real estate.
Although the price was steep, it was worth it. There were enough places to accommodate an entire delegation if Lala's parents came here with an escort.
I realized the setup too late, when Ilulu caught a group of too-much-talking yokai.
- Oh, don't eat us! - shouted a bale of hay filled with fermented beans and the body of a skinny boy. - We are your neighbors! Neighbors! We just wanted to say hello to you!
I looked at them skeptically, seeing how they were tied up, while cans of paint lay next to them.
"I'll go call the exorcists."
- Ah-ah-ah! No, don't! We won't do this again! Please let go! – they all started screaming and mooing fearfully.
– Hmm, the Keikain clan seems to be pretty good. – Having started to dial the number, I left so as not to be distracted by the screams of the pest spirits.
Imagine my surprise when I met a girl and a neighbor of the same age as me.
As a result, I invited both of them and explained the problem over a cup of tea. In the middle of the conversation, the neighbor guy asked to go to the toilet and said that there was no need to accompany him, since they had a similar layout.
I didn't pay much attention and focused on talking to the girl. She turned out to be a direct descendant of Keikain bloodline and the future head, which was already surprising. In such a conservative family and at such a young age, she was already confirmed as the heiress of the clan.
After talking a little more, I brought her into the yard, but only lying ropes awaited us.
I already wanted to apologize that they ran away and pay anyway, but she began the search in all seriousness, sensing a trace of their energy, calling on shikigami - several snow-white wolves.
She was even surprised that I could see her shikigami, to which I replied that I had mystical eyes.
I received them on my fifth birthday from the "system", although it can't even be called that. It just gives out different abilities once every 5 years, but in order to cope with my inferiority as a isekai-reincarnator, I call it that.
She only became more serious, saying that youkais are attracted to people with mystical abilities and great spiritual energy as prey.
Having explored the entire estate for two hours and finding nothing, she simultaneously installed a barrier against evil spirits and gave amulets for self-defense.
After sincerely thanking her for her help, I gave her the promised payment and a 50% bonus.
She blushed from my gratitude, which made me feel tender. Finally, we even exchanged numbers in case the youkai attacked me.
I'm glad I asked Ilulu to just catch the youkai instead of banishing them. Now I have connections and one more person who can help me if anything happens.
