Regression of the Vector Magician

Chapter 28: Chapter 28 – War Simulation

The air shimmered with powerful magic as Reyon stood in the middle of the battlefield. He had no time to prepare, no moment to gather his thoughts—because the enemy was already moving.

Min Hee's voice echoed from beyond the illusion.

"Your objective is simple—survive for twelve hours."

A deafening roar shook the ground.

Reyon turned his head just in time to see three massive A-rank Ogres emerging from the smoke-covered ruins. Each one towered over ten meters tall, their skin resembling solid stone, their eyes burning with primal fury.

Behind them, six enemy magicians stood in formation, cloaked in dark robes. Their staffs crackled with energy as they prepared to unleash devastating spells.

Reyon took a sharp breath.

Twelve hours? Against this?

A normal magician would panic. A normal magician would doubt.

But Reyon wasn't normal.

BOOM!

The first Ogre lunged.

Its colossal fist came crashing down, aiming to flatten him instantly.

Reyon's mind shifted into combat mode. His fingers twitched, and a glowing symbol formed in the air—

£ (Epsilon).

A massive repelling force exploded beneath him, sending him skyrocketing backward just in time to evade the attack.

The Ogre's fist obliterated the ground, creating a massive crater where Reyon had just stood.

But there was no time to relax.

A second Ogre was already swinging its club toward him mid-air.

Reyon reacted instinctively—

§ (Delta).

Mana surged through his body, instantly adjusting his trajectory.

Instead of continuing backward, his movement curved mid-air, avoiding the club by mere inches. The sheer force of the swing sent a shockwave rippling through the battlefield, but Reyon had already moved.

Landing on a broken pillar, he turned his gaze toward the magicians.

They had finished chanting.

A massive wave of fire and lightning shot toward him, threatening to engulf him whole.

Reyon smirked.

"Ω (Omega)."

The moment the symbol activated, his mana flowed perfectly.

£ converted the incoming fire into a mana source.

§ redirected the energy across his body.

Ω sustained the process, preventing any mana loss.

Instead of dodging, he absorbed the spell into his vectors.

The fire and lightning spiraled around his body, forming a glowing aura of destructive energy.

One of the magicians' eyes widened in horror.

"He's redirecting our spells!"

Reyon grinned. "That's right."

With a flick of his hand, he released the stored energy back at them—but this time, it was enhanced.

A blinding wave of supercharged flames erupted forward, consuming three enemy magicians in an instant.

They screamed as their own magic overpowered them, leaving nothing but scorched ground.

Reyon landed lightly, his breathing steady.

This is it.

He wasn't just using Vectors anymore.

He was combining spells and Vectors into a single, flowing combat style.

The Birth of the Movement Field

The remaining three enemy magicians began chanting barrier spells to protect themselves.

The Ogres, however, were relentless.

Two of them came charging from opposite sides, their footsteps causing the ground to shake violently.

A direct hit would crush him.

But Reyon had a plan.

He had already woven all three symbols together—£, §, and Ω.

Instead of using them separately, he merged them into a continuous loop.

£ for instant acceleration.

§ for precise direction control.

Ω to sustain it infinitely.

The result—

Reyon disappeared.

To the enemy magicians, it was as if he had vanished into thin air.

But in reality, he was moving too fast for them to react.

The Ogres missed completely, their fists colliding into each other instead—causing a thunderous shockwave that cracked the ground.

Reyon reappeared above them.

"Let's see how you handle this."

He extended both hands and traced another symbol in the air—

Ω (Omega) – High-Impact Vector Shock.

A massive force field expanded outward.

The Ogres roared in confusion as an invisible gravitational pull dragged them toward each other with overwhelming force.

Their massive bodies crashed together at full speed—

BOOOOM!

A devastating impact erupted between them, sending shockwaves across the battlefield. Dust and debris shot into the sky.

When the dust settled, both Ogres lay on the ground—motionless.

The remaining Ogre stood frozen, finally realizing the danger it was in.

Reyon cracked his neck.

"You're next."

Pushing Magic to Its Limits

The last Ogre roared, refusing to back down.

Its muscles bulged, glowing with raw mana.

Then, for the first time—it spoke.

"Human… strong… but not enough!"

Reyon's eyes narrowed. This one's different.

The Ogre raised both hands, gathering a massive sphere of compressed mana.

It was trying to cast a spell.

A spell that contained far more mana than an A-rank monster should be able to handle.

Reyon didn't hesitate.

He traced a final Ω (Omega) symbol in the air—

Omega Vector Field – Absolute Redirection.

The moment the Ogre unleashed the spell, Reyon caught it mid-air with his vectors.

The swirling ball of destructive energy floated between them, crackling with power.

The Ogre's eyes widened. Impossible.

Reyon smirked.

"Return to sender."

He twisted his wrist—and the massive attack shot back toward the Ogre at triple the original speed.

The monster barely had time to scream before it was completely vaporized.

End of the Test – Min Hee's Verdict

The battlefield dissolved, returning to the peaceful training grounds.

Reyon stood alone, panting heavily, his mana nearly depleted.

Min Hee clapped her hands. "Not bad."

She stepped forward, her sharp gaze analyzing him.

"You've finally learned how to merge your Vectors with actual spells."

Reyon exhaled, wiping the sweat from his forehead. "Still… took too long."

Min Hee nodded. "Yes. You wasted energy at the start. Your movements were impressive, but against real opponents, that hesitation will kill you."

She folded her arms. "But you survived. And that means you're improving."

Reyon smirked.

"Give me three more months. I'll be ready."

Min Hee's lips curled into a small smile.

"We'll see."

She turned away. "Rest for today. Tomorrow, the real training begins."

As Reyon sat down, catching his breath, he clenched his fist.

I'm getting closer.
