Red Nara

Chapter 379: Chapter 71

Much to the relief of everyone in the delegation, we got out of the desert much faster than it had taken us to travel through the Wind Country, and most of the Fire Country's territory was familiar to most of the jonins, so we gained a whole day on the way back and arrived home quite quickly.

Everyone wanted to wash and get rid of sand in every imaginable place. Even my constantly maintained weak chakra cover all over my body (great training for all tenketsu and control) didn't help. I could only feel sorry for the others, who didn't even have my equipment protection, let alone chakra protection.

After saying goodbye to the jonin at the gate and agreeing on a time to gather for the final exam, I jumped onto the nearest rooftop and galloped toward the Nara Quarter, glad that I didn't have to write a report after this mission. Of course, a clan representative doesn't get paid a salary (the paltry rate of an iryo-nin doesn't count), but that's a tenth thing.

Nodding to the chunin standing at the entrance, I sped up and briefly answering the greetings of the few clansmen I met along the way, literally flew into the wicket, already anticipating the opportunity to jump into the bathtub filled to the brim, but I was distracted by the sounds of fighting that came from the firing range behind the house.

For a couple of seconds the desire to splash in the water fought with curiosity, but a particularly loud sound of a blow, which even shook the air, put an end to the hesitation and I turned from the path to the porch and went around the garden of the house, came to the site with the firing range, where the fight was taking place.

And judging by the absence of a raised barrier, it was only in taijutsu. If it were otherwise, I would have tailed both of them, since they were familiar to me. At very good speeds, even for a jonin, Saya and Keiko were waving their limbs in front of me, so focused on each other that they even missed my appearance.

It wasn't that that made my eyebrows raise, though, but the fierceness with which the two women were hitting each other, including critical points other than the head (the mandatory protective clothing I'd designed for just this purpose didn't cover the head, spreading the blows evenly over the entire surface) that could maim or even kill.

And the two kunoichi were practically equal. While Saya was a little faster than her opponent, Keiko was a little stronger and more experienced, but Ma was using a better form of taijutsu than any of the clanless kunoichi. That was why they continued to fight as equals and did not hold back at all, trying to take the opponent down and get more punches in earlier.

The air was literally shaking from the speed and force of the blows falling on the blocks, involuntarily mesmerizing - still there is something in the fight of beautiful women dressed in very tight clothes. Noticing the fierce joy on both kunoichi's faces as they beat the crap out of their opponents, I nodded in satisfaction.

Great! That's just great! How come I didn't think of something like this before!? Even though I'd been busy at work lately, even the shadow clones watching over the house had noticed that Saya was losing her cheerfulness, unable to put all her energy into something more important and interesting than the seal shop. Her expression was much more lively now, and Keiko was keeping up with her.

That's what it means to be able to punch someone you don't like, and there's no doubt that behind my back these two are fighting (even if verbally until now) at every opportunity. Of course, it's mostly Saya who's clinging to her position as mistress of the house, while Keiko tries to hold back, especially if I'm likely to be around, but apparently they've agreed to settle their differences with their fists. Well, whatever the child wants...
