Chapter 12: Chapter12-You Actually Used Such an Expensive Potion to Feed a Rabbit?

"Then let's put it up for auction. I've got another bottle here; let's auction them together!"

Velen didn't take out too many at once—rarity increases value. He planned to test the waters to see if the potion was as sought-after as the auctioneer claimed.

"Spending 100,000 gold coins on a single potion—only a lunatic would do that," Velen murmured softly.

He was well aware of the purchasing power of 100,000 gold coins.

If it were other high-quality potions, it might make sense, but a single Tier-3 potion shouldn't fetch such a price.

Surely the auction house was exaggerating.

Though Velen's voice was low, Kevin, being not only a Tier-6 alchemist but also a Titan Rank Awakener, still heard him.

While this Tier-3 potion wasn't the highest quality, its effects were incredibly unique.

Most importantly, it was crafted by a Master Rank alchemist, making its efficacy far superior to ordinary Tier-3 potions.

How could the buyers possibly be lunatics?

However, considering that Velen had brought out a Master Rank Tier-3 Fortifying Potion, Kevin didn't say much.

He simply watched Velen's retreating figure with a complicated expression.

This guy was definitely no ordinary person!

After leaving the Mercenary Auction House, Velen thought for a moment and directly pulled out a bottle of Tier-3 Fortifying Potion, gulping it down.

The appraiser had spoken so highly of it; he decided to try it himself.

After drinking it, he indeed felt his body strengthening slightly, with a warm sensation spreading throughout, as though he were in a furnace.

However, the improvement didn't seem significant.

"Well, I've got plenty of these potions. Might as well drink them like spring water."

Just as Velen was about to leave, he suddenly noticed a white figure dashing toward him at great speed.

Bang!

Velen stood unmoving, while the white figure that collided with him was sent flying backward.

A rabbit?

Velen glanced down to see a panicked red-eyed rabbit.

Its white fur was somewhat dirty, and its large ears quivered slightly, as though it was utterly terrified.

The rabbit's adorable appearance caught Velen's eye, and his gaze brightened.

He had a weakness for fluffy things.

Seeing that it was injured, he took out a bottle of Fortifying Potion, opened it, crouched down, and said:

"If you drink my potion, you'll be my rabbit from now on."

The rabbit looked at Velen with its red eyes.

At first, there seemed to be two flames burning within them.

Then, its nose twitched, and it slowly walked up to Velen, gently sipping the Fortifying Potion.

After drinking, its wounds seemed to heal a bit.

It then affectionately nuzzled Velen's hand, its fur soft and warm.

Velen couldn't help but laugh.

Without hesitation, he pulled out several more bottles of Fortifying Potion, opened them, and fed them to the eager little white rabbit.

"Using a 100,000-gold-coin potion to feed a rabbit—if the fool who bought this potion found out, would they come at me with a knife?"

Velen rubbed his chin as this thought crossed his mind.

"Whatever. I've got plenty of potions. Later, I'll give some to Anastasia, Alan, and the elder. Otherwise, I won't be able to show off all these potions."

With that, Velen cradled the obedient little rabbit and chuckled softly:

"Let's give you a nice bath first, and then you can keep drinking for me!"

The big white rabbit looked up at Velen, feeling a bit unnerved by its owner's final smile. It immediately shrank back into Velen's arms.

"Excuse me, sir, this is a high-end hotel. Pets and personal food are not allowed. It's our policy!"

As Velen carried the dirty rabbit into a luxurious hotel, he was stopped by a hostess at the door.

Her face bore a professional smile.

"Policy? How much is this policy worth? Name a price. I insist on bringing my precious rabbit in to bathe and rest."

Velen glanced at her.

"Sir, the policy is non-negotiable and has nothing to do with money. This is a three-star high-end hotel…"

Before she could finish, Velen pulled out a storage pouch from his arms.

"This is 10,000 gold coins. Book your best suite for me and consider the rest compensation for breaking the rules."

Velen didn't argue further, letting the gold coins speak for themselves.

The hostess checked the pouch and immediately felt her legs go weak.

She had never seen so many gold coins before—10,000 pieces!

The hotel had never encountered such a bold customer.

"Please come in, esteemed guest!"

Her voice instantly turned seductive, and her gaze toward Velen practically sparkled.

However, Velen paid her no mind and went straight to his room.

Once inside, Velen looked at the rabbit, now soaking in the basin.

His gaze carried a hint of surprise.

Spending 10,000 gold coins to show off for a rabbit hadn't earned him any Luxury Points. Clearly, the rabbit was currently of no value.

"Alright, little rabbit, after your bath, it's time to get to work!"

As he spoke, Velen kept pulling bottles of Fortifying Potion from his system space, pouring them into a basin before the rabbit.

The rich fragrance of the potion made the rabbit visibly excited.

Though it lacked intelligence, its instincts told it that this potion was highly beneficial.

Its red eyes glowed as it drank bottle after bottle, not stopping even when its belly bulged.

Velen's gaze grew softer as he watched.

After all, a person could only drink so much, but this rabbit had downed over a hundred bottles without pausing. It was a natural asset for showing off his wealth.

He had truly struck gold with this rabbit.

However, after an hour of drinking, the rabbit's belly swelled like a balloon, with veins and blood vessels visibly stretching across it.

And then, the rabbit stopped drinking!

With human-like behavior, it pushed the basin away and tilted its head, its long ears twitching.

"Only a thousand bottles, and you're done?" Velen poked its head. "You seemed to love drinking earlier. I've still got plenty… Hey, don't sleep yet! Drink more before you sleep!"

No matter how Velen shook it, the rabbit showed no signs of waking up, the only sound coming from the sloshing liquid in its belly.

Seeing this, Velen sighed and placed the rabbit on the floor, letting it sleep.

"Fine, we'll continue once you wake up." Velen shook his head and lay down on the luxurious bed, quickly falling asleep.

Meanwhile, as Velen slept, tremendous changes were taking place within the rabbit's body.

Its fur became snow-white and crystalline, like white crystal.

Its long ears grew even more elegant. With each breath, the mana in the air was drawn into its body, nourishing it continuously.

At the same time, in the Mercenary Auction House:

"Who would've thought that while out procuring materials, we'd come across two bottles of Fortifying Potion, both at the Master Rank level!"

Seated in the main seat, Anastasia squinted slightly as she gazed at the two potions on the auction stage.

Next to her, Alan's eyes glimmered with intense desire.

As an Adept Rank Awakener, he could now consume Tier-3 Fortifying Potions.

It was as if the heavens had prepared these for him.

After all, potions capable of enhancing bloodlines were exceedingly rare, monopolized by major powers. For other Awakeners, even catching a whiff of such potions was nearly impossible.

But now, there were two life-changing potions before them, crafted by a Master Rank alchemist, their value immeasurable.

If he could consume them, his bloodline would receive a significant boost, paving the way for future advancements.

However, Alan also noticed that everyone else in the auction room was eyeing the two Fortifying Potions with bloodshot eyes.

The final auction for the Fortifying Potions was bound to spark fierce competition!

"Don't worry. These potions will greatly benefit the two of you. As long as you're with me, you won't lose out. I'm determined to get them!"

Elsewhere, on a picturesque mountain peak, a white-haired elder sipped fine wine, gazing at the scenery with a look of contentment.

"Enjoying wine amidst nature with good friends—truly one of life's great joys!"

The white-haired elder remarked, prompting a slight smile from the older man beside him.

"You sure know how to take it easy. I've already become the young lady's protector. I don't have the leisure you do. Once she establishes a fortress here, you old rascal better take good care of things."
