Chapter 14: Chapter 14
As soon as Javier's left Solis' family here, Secretary James immediately informed Quentin.
"How is Javier's other subsidiary going?"
Quentin leisurely sat on the sofa holding a cigarette, while still fiddling with a lighter, but had no intention of lighting a cigarette.
Secretary James replied:
"It's been found out, it seems that this quarter the other company has a rather important project and this time it is likely to compete with our company."
"OH."
Quentin slightly stopped his hand and glanced at Secretary James.
"Do you know what to do?"
Secretary James nodded and replied:
"Yes."
He always knew that his boss was not a vegetarian, and if he dared to calculate against him, he would be mentally prepared to be bitten back.
Javier, as the deputy director of Harris Corporation, had thoughts of opening his own company, which Quentin Harris had long sensed, but had not yet taken action.
This time, it seems that the two of us have actually officially declared war on each other.
The next morning, Amanda woke up quite early, washed her face and applied makeup meticulously. She stood in front of the wardrobe and chose a light blue knee-length dress that was not too eye-catching.
There were only Mr. and Mrs. Solis in the house and after she changed clothes and went downstairs, Quentin's car stopped right in front of Solis's door.
"Good morning."
Amanda politely greeted him and sat in the car, while Quentin, next to her, just nodded softly and took out a dumpling to give to her.
"Have you had breakfast? Can you eat with me?"
Amanda looked a bit bewildered at the dumpling in Quentin's hand and then looked around the space in this luxurious Bentley.
"Uncle...! Do you usually eat breakfast like this?"
"Just for a while."
Quentin saw her face change several times and couldn't help but smile. He stuffed the dumpling into her hand and took out another one himself.
Amanda hadn't had breakfast yet, so she wasn't polite anymore and sat with him in the Bentley to eat dumplings.
"Is it delicious?"
Suddenly Quentin asked softly. Amanda nodded honestly.
"Tasty."
The meat pie has less crust, making a person like her who likes to eat the crust more than the filling very satisfied. Quentin smiled.
"It's fine if you like it."
"Where did you buy this from?"
If she had time, she would stop by to buy a few, but would have thought that Quentin pretended to be deaf and turned a deaf ear, taking out his cell phone while eating and processing emails.
Quentin will not say that this cake is not sold anywhere, but that he told someone to make it.
Amanda glanced at him resentfully and did not bother to talk to this person with an unusual temper.
Because the two of them left early, the civil affairs department only had a few people. When Amanda and Quentin arrived at the registration counter, a department employee gave them two forms of paper.
"Fill in all the information and submit it along with your ID card to counter number 3."
Quentin quickly filled out the form. He had a meeting this afternoon, so he had to take advantage of the time.
And Amanda next to him was neither quick nor slow at filling out the information.
Suddenly, there was a loud noise of arguing.
"Why can't it be? The property is divided into two parts. What can't be done?"
The woman shouted at the man, but the other man was not weak enough to argue back.
"For the past few years, you've just stayed at home and wasted money. You haven't made any money yet, so you want to split it 6/4?"
Amanda slightly raised his curious eyes and looked over, it turned out to be a couple who wanted to divorce and were arguing over property.
As soon as the man finished speaking, he only heard the woman crying loudly and scolding:
"Didn't I do anything? So who was your child born from? Now you have a vixen outside who wants to divorce me." Will you share your assets with me? Oh my god, why am I so miserable?
When Amanda heard this, she suddenly lowered her eyes and stopped looking. Quentin also heard the argument.
He lightly glanced at the girl next to him.
Now he noticed that today she had her hair braided in front of her forehead, with a few strands of hair hanging down, looking very docile.
"Uncle, if you meet someone you like in the future, please tell me right away."
Amanda suddenly said something like that, He looked at her thoughtfully for a while and asked:
"For what?"
Amanda smiled slightly, shrugged her shoulders, and quickly signed her name on the marriage certificate.
"What's the point of letting me get a divorce?"
The pen in Quentin's hand almost ripped open the paper. Why is this girl not even married yet thinking about divorce?
"It will not happen."
Amanda nodded without replying, in fact she did not want to lose face.
While my husband was having an affair, everyone knew about it after realizing that I was just like an idiot.
The registration procedure took quite a while, and by the time Amanda and Quentin left, it was almost noon.
Amanda held the pink piece of paper in her hand and couldn't help but feel confused, but her mouth couldn't help but blurt out a sentence.
"So we have officially entered the grave of marriage?"
Quentin was walking down the steps and almost slipped. He looked at her a little unhappy.
Marrying you means entering the grave?
"Tomorrow, pack your things to my villa, tomorrow morning I'll send someone to pick you up."
Quentin didn't want to discuss this issue of killing the scenery, so he directly changed the subject.
Amanda let out a sigh and slowly put the marriage certificate into her pocket.
"So if there's nothing else, I'll go first.
Goodbye!"
She curled her lips and smiled at him, then, without waiting for him to answer, she walked away.
Quentin looked at her back and his temples couldn't help but twitch.
Quentin didn't stay any longer and went straight to the car. As soon as he sat down, Secretary James immediately gave him a set of documents that needed his signature urgently.
I just heard Secretary James, who knows the situation very well, said:
"President Harris, congratulations on your wedding."
Quentin received the document but did not open it, he just sighed lightly.
His eyes absentmindedly looked outside the window, suddenly seeing a couple holding hands as they walked out of the civil affairs department.
As if by magic, the boy took out a bouquet of roses and gave it to the girl, only to see the girl smiling happily and accepting it, then they briefly hugged each other.
Quentin retracted his gaze, his fingers placed on the document file gently tapping rhythmically.
"James, find me a professional gardening team."
Secretary James, who was handling a contract worth more than ten billion, raised his head dumbfounded. Did he hear correctly? The boss wants a team but not one person? Suddenly remembering something, he respectfully replied:
"Yes, I will go to work right away."
He almost forgot his boss even planted a rose garden himself.
"Have you arranged your schedule for noon today?"
"It's all done."
Quentin nodded and then breathed a sigh of relief.
Because the wedding was postponed to October next year, everyone decided to have a meal together tonight. Because of today, he had to stay up until 2 a.m. last night to finish the work at hand.
Getting married is certainly not easy. As soon as the bride receives the certificate, she runs away..
