Reborn in Maleficence

Chapter 5: The Dragon warrior

A distant murmur filled his ears. A warmth spread through his body, soothing the aches in his limbs. He stirred, his mind hazy, consciousness returning in waves.

"He's waking up."

The voice was unfamiliar, but gentle. Slowly, Maximilian forced his eyes open. He found himself lying on a woven mat inside a warmly lit room. Scrolls and incense lined the walls, and a faint scent of jasmine filled the air. His gaze moved, landing on a pair of large, round eyes staring at him curiously.

It was Po.

"Dude, you passed out hard," Po said, grinning. "Not going to lie, I thought you were done for. But Master Oogway said you just needed rest."

Maximilian sat up, groaning as his muscles protested. "Where… where am I?"

"The Jade Palace," came another voice. He turned to see Tigress, arms crossed, watching him with a mixture of suspicion and intrigue. "Master Oogway believes you are… important."

Master Oogway, who now sat nearby, nodded sagely. "You have traveled far, young warrior. Your journey is only beginning."

As Tigress looked at Maximilian and Po and growled with an air of discontent, then left the room, with Maximillian barely noticing because he was not paying attention to her.

Maximilian's mind spun. He wasn't just in Kung Fu Panda. He was being included in its story. And if he was the Dragon Warrior… or A Dragon Warrior

What did that mean for Po?

And what was the true purpose of the system that brought him here?

And just as Maximillian thought about the system, a notification came up

[Ding]

[The System has expended too much energy]

[The system is going to be in stasis for an indefinite amount of time; good luck, host.]

Looking at the notification given by the system, panic surged through Maximilian because he had just dropped into a world with talking animals who knew Kung Fu.

Then Maximilian forcibly stopped his panicking and started to think as he thought he remembered the ability that he had used when he was falling through the sky, his new ability, Astral sand, the ability to make his and other people's dreams/imaginations come into reality through gold and black sand controlled by his mind.

The astral sand would help him not just to be killed by any random passer-by who knew Kung Fu, including in this world were opponents like Tai Lung, who mastered their art so well that he escaped prison with only a feather.

When they thought they couldn't kill him, they tried to blow the whole place up, but he survived that and got out with no injury to himself, now, that guy is a true menace.

Maximillian stopped thinking about that menace. He turned to his power.

Trying to bring out the power of his Astral sand, a wisp of black and gold sand came out of him but then started waning quickly.

Attempting to call out his Astral sand again, there was nothing, no sand coming out, he couldn't even feel the connection that was vague before all he felt was nothing in the place where his Astral sand was supposed to be.

Once Maximillian realized what had happened, panic set in. He was in a world of supernatural Kung Fu, and his one ticket to protect himself was currently not working, hell, he couldn't even feel it.

It was like it did not exist.

"Young Dragon warrior overthinking is unbecoming of such with great power."

Said master Oogway in a slow, wise voice with understanding in his eyes, like he had been through this before in his long life.

Hearing the old wise voice of Master Oogway, Maximillian calmed down as he knew overthinking wasn't going to help him at the current moment, it was only going to make him go insane.

"Good young one, now we shall start your training, But before that, what exactly is your race, you look like a long extinct race, the humans, but have wings," said Oogway

"I am not sure my race, "Maximillian answered.

"We shall figure it out together, tomorrow now rest, young one, for tomorrow has a lot in stock for you."

Oogway said as he turned and started going to the door.

As Oogway left, Maximillian looked outside and saw that it was still the afternoon, thinking about the things he could do, some ideas came to mind.

The first one was to go down to the village and see how everything worked down there, but that was quickly disbanded.

The second thought was to walk around the Jade lands of the palace this was a way safer option because he was semi-sure that no one would attack him out of nowhere.

Although he might have seemed like a wimp, the abilities he bought were not yet totally integrated with him, and that left him weaker than he should have been.

So Maximillian was far from his prime, hell, more than half his abilities and bloodlines were not yet integrated into himself.

Walking out of the room that housed him, Maximillian heard an obnoxious sound, "I like to move it, move it."

Looking around, Maximillian did not see a thing, so he went on his way, thinking that he had not heard a thing and it was all in his head.
