Reborn in Jujutsu Kaisen as a Zenin

Chapter 19: First Years

Yaga Masamichi's pov:

Teaching at Jujutsu High had given me years of experience with exceptional students, but this year's first-years were something else entirely.

Standing before my class, I couldn't help but analyze each of them with professional curiosity.

Satoru Gojo, the Six Eyes user, lounged at his desk with characteristic disregard for proper posture.

His white hair and boundless confidence marked him instantly as a Gojo, though his playful demeanor contrasted sharply with his clan's usual stoicism.

Beside him sat Suguru Geto, already showing signs of being a natural genius. His calm presence seemed to balance Gojo's exuberance, though there was something calculating in his eyes that warranted watching.

Shoko Ieiri maintained an air of clinical detachment, her healing technique already marking her as invaluable. Though her apparent boredom rivaled Gojo's, it stemmed from different roots.

But it was Indra Zenin who drew the most attention, and not just for his imposing physical presence.

At fifteen, he already stood at 195 centimeters, his frame carrying muscle mass that seemed impossible for his age.

The way he carried himself spoke of absolute authority – not the practiced nobility of clan heirs, but something more fundamental.

Kisara Zenin, his fiancée, sat beside him with quiet dignity. Her mastery of the Ten Shadows technique had already become legendary among younger sorcerers - ones who felt motivation at seeing great capability from one not a child of Heaven.

Though watching her interact with Indra revealed layers to their relationship that went beyond political arrangement.

The rumors about these students had reached me long before they entered my classroom.

Two people who could have been the 'Honoured One' if they born in different ages, both present in the same lifetime – Gojo with his Six Eyes and Limitless, and Indra with his mysterious technique that had supposedly bypassed Infinity itself.

The Higher Ups had been particularly insistent on "proper monitoring" of this class.

What interested me more than their techniques, however, was their dynamics.

Gojo and Indra shared an unusual relationship – the Six Eyes user constantly referring to Indra as "little brother" despite the fact that they were not related in anyway, shape or form.

Their friendly antagonism carried undertones of genuine respect that few seemed to notice.

Geto watched them all with careful consideration, his interest particularly focused on how Indra's presence seemed to affect the world around them.

Even Shoko occasionally broke her indifferent facade to study the giant of a boy who carried himself with such certainty.

But it was the way cursed energy behaved around them that truly caught my attention. When Gojo and Indra were in proximity, the very nature of jujutsu seemed to shift, as if reality itself acknowledged their presence.

"Welcome to Jujutsu High," I began, knowing this year would be anything but ordinary.

"Today we'll begin with a basic assessment of your abilities," I announced, though 'basic' seemed almost laughable given this group. "Paired combat demonstrations will-"

"Can I fight my little brother?" Gojo interrupted, floating slightly above his chair. "It's been ages since our last proper match."

"Satoru," Indra's deep voice carried a note of warning, though I caught the slight shift in his posture that suggested interest.

"Actually," I interjected, curious about their dynamic, "that might be educational. The rest of the class could benefit from observing two different approaches to overwhelming power."

Shoko's usual boredom vanished as she straightened in her seat. Even Geto's careful mask slipped, revealing genuine curiosity.

Kisara, interestingly, showed no concern – just quiet anticipation, as if she'd seen this dance before.

"The training ground should be reinforced enough," I continued, though privately wondering if any barriers could truly contain these two. "Shall we?"

The walk to the training ground was enlightening.

Gojo floated alongside Indra, their heights nearly matching even with Indra's slight advantage, though their builds couldn't be more different – Gojo's lean grace against Indra's overwhelming physicality.

The Six Eyes user chattered about their last sparring match "ages ago," while his self-proclaimed brother merely nodded occasionally.

The rest of the class followed at a distance that seemed instinctive rather than planned. Even Geto, who carried himself with considerable confidence, maintained space between himself and the two strongest.

"Standard rules," I announced as we reached the reinforced area. "No lethal force, match ends at clear advantage or-"

"Or when little brother admits I'm stronger," Gojo grinned, landing lightly on the ground.

"Seven years," Indra sighed, his massive frame shifting into a ready stance, "and you still haven't learned."

The air itself seemed to grow heavy as they took their positions.

What caught my attention wasn't just their cursed energy – impressive as it was – but how differently they approached combat.

Gojo's playful confidence against Indra's absolute certainty.

I had a feeling this "demonstration" would teach me as much as it would my students.

"Begin," I announced, and immediately witnessed something extraordinary. Their first exchange wasn't blocked by either Infinity or the Reaper's Cloak – they were actually landing blows on each other.

"Wait," Shoko's usual detachment gave way to confusion. "I thought they both had absolute defenses. The reports from their match years ago..."

"Domain Amplification," Kisara explained calmly, her eyes following the intense combat. "It's an application of domain technique that allows the user to nullify innate techniques within a limited space. They're both using it to bypass each other's defenses."

"But that's advanced territory manipulation," Geto interjected, his analytical mind clearly processing the implications. "Most sorcerers can't achieve that until-"

"Most sorcerers aren't Sons of Heaven," Kisara stated simply, as another thunderous clash echoed across the training ground.

I watched with growing fascination. Without their absolute defenses, we were seeing their true combat abilities – and they were far beyond what anyone might expect from fifteen-year-olds.

Gojo moved like liquid light, each motion precise despite his usual playful demeanor.

But what struck me was Indra's response – his massive frame shouldn't allow for such speed, yet he matched Gojo's movements with impossible grace.

"Blue!" Gojo called out, launching his technique. Instead of trying to dodge, Indra met it directly with his crimson aura. The collision sent shockwaves across the training ground.

"Their cursed energy control is ridiculous," Geto muttered, his expression intense. "Even without their absolute defenses, they're still-"

"Watch," Kisara interrupted softly. "This is where it gets interesting."

She was right. The pace suddenly shifted. Gojo's attacks became more creative, mixing his techniques in ways that shouldn't be possible at his age.

But Indra... Indra moved with absolute purpose, each action precisely calculated.

Neither seemed to be tiring. If anything, they appeared to be enjoying themselves.

The match escalated as they suddenly broke apart, their auras expanding dramatically.

Gojo's infinity manifested in brilliant blue while Indra's crimson death energy swirled around his massive frame.

Though Gojo naturally floated, Indra's movements made him appear to fly as well, their clashes sending vibrations through the air that began to crack the ground beneath.

Pieces of earth lifted into the air as their powers collided, their Domain Amplification allowing direct contact while their auras created a spectacular light show.

Their fists became blurs of motion – too fast for normal eyes to track, each strike either dodged or countered with impossible precision.

"Stop!" I called out, seeing the growing destruction, but they were too absorbed in their battle to hear.

Their competitive spirit had overtaken their usual control, Gojo's playfulness and Indra's restraint giving way to pure combat joy.

Just as I prepared to forcefully intervene, lightning crackled through Kisara's shadow. Nue's form briefly visible before she condensed its power into her hands, launching it like a spear between the two combatants.

Both sorcerers dodged instinctively, the lightning blast finally breaking through their battle focus.

They landed, looking almost sheepish as they took in the devastated training ground.

"Perhaps," I said dryly, surveying the destruction, "we should focus on control before continuing these demonstrations."

The training ground was barely recognizable.

Craters from their impacts dotted the earth, while pieces of ground still floated in the air, held aloft by residual cursed energy. The barrier walls showed hairline cracks despite their reinforcement.

"Sorry, Yaga-sensei," Gojo grinned, not looking sorry at all. "Got a bit excited there. It's been a while since little brother let loose."

Indra merely nodded in acknowledgment, though I noticed the slight upturn of his lips. Even he, the apparent calm and collected one, it seemed, wasn't immune to the thrill of a good fight.

"Well," Shoko commented, already moving to heal some minor cuts they'd managed to inflict on each other, "at least we know why they're called Sons of Heaven."

Geto remained silent, but his eyes never left the two combatants. The calculating look had intensified, as if he'd witnessed something that required serious consideration.

As I watched my students return to the classroom, I couldn't help but reflect on what I'd witnessed. The raw power had been impressive, yes, but it was the underlying implications that troubled me.

Two fifteen-year-olds with mastery over Domain Amplification. Combat abilities that surpassed all Grade 1 sorcerers - bordering on even beyond that of conventional Special Grade.

But more than that – the way they fought suggested experience far beyond their years.

Not just talent or inherited techniques, but genuine battle wisdom - how many battles with curses have they done under the gaze of all?

Geto's calculating gaze followed them, analyzing every detail.

Shoko's usual indifference had given way to professional interest.

And Kisara... Kisara watched it all with the quiet understanding of someone who had seen far more than this demonstration.

The Higher Ups had insisted on "proper monitoring," but I was beginning to understand why. These weren't just exceptional students. They were harbingers of change.

As I looked at the devastated training ground one last time before heading back, I couldn't shake the feeling that this year would reshape the jujutsu world in ways none of us could predict.

(Author note: Hello everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the chapter!

Do tell me how you found the sparring match.

Also, from what I understand, Domain Amplification needs not one to already have their domain, but have an understanding of Simple Domain at least.

Also, Geto is... A bit different than in canon. The reason is logical don't worry. I don't change character personalities, not even slightly without logical basis.

So still the Geto we know and love (Pre-racist idiot one, since I hate Geto after the defection, purely because he killed his parents. That's what I hate about him)

So yeah, I hope you all enjoyed, and I hope to see you all later,

Bye!)
