Chapter 611: Financial Reform 5
"Your Majesty, this?"
Vijay nodded his head. "You read it right. This is the empire's plan to overturn the Safavid Empire, and you can say the Ottoman Empire as well, since we have come to terms with the Republic of Venice and Czarist Russia to go on a full-scale war on the Ottoman Empire when the time comes."
Joseph nodded his head and listened intently, his emotions turbulent.
"The Empire's current objective is either to fully control the Safavid Empire and have them launch an attack on the Ottoman Empire, or have the Ottoman Empire participate in the Civil War of Safavid and directly get involved in this civil war, which would attract a lot of attention from the Ottoman Empire, giving the Russian Empire and the Venetian Republic an opportunity to attack."
Vijay looked at Joseph and smiled. "I'm saying all of this. Do you know why?"
"I don't, Your Majesty. If I had to guess, it's because I have become a citizen of the Bharatiya Empire, like you recommended, and you are holding your end of the bargain of involving my family in the establishment of the Jewish nation. It's just that I don't understand why dealing with the Safavid Empire and the Ottoman Empire would benefit us Jews in any way?" His brows were a little wrinkled. Although the plan mentioned by His Majesty was great and the chance of success was also very large, since the forces controlled by the Bharatiya Empire had indeed managed to gain a large part of the Safavid Empire, he still failed to understand how this had anything to do with establishing their own Jewish country.
Vijay laughed. "Why doesn't it have anything to do with your people? Don't you know Egypt is currently under the control of the Ottoman Empire?"
Joseph nodded. "It is, Your Majesty, but why does it matter?"
Vijay continued, "You also know that Egypt controls the Sinai Peninsula, right?"
Joseph's expression was still confused as he still failed to understand. "It does, Your Majesty, but what does it have to do with us Jews—wait! Sinai?" His eyes widened in disbelief, and his pupils dilated wildly. He felt like his heartbeat suddenly increased in a few magnitudes, and the blood all over his body boiled. "Your Majesty, you mean?"
Vijay was finally satisfied. The old guy finally recognized his plan. "Yes, that's right. The Bharatiya Empire is planning to help you Jews regain your lost home. You have suffered enough for almost a millennium. It is time for the Kingdom of Israel and the glory of Jerusalem to be reborn again."
"So now, you're telling me conflict with the Ottoman Empire has nothing to do with you?" Vijay asked with a cheeky smile. "Hm?"
Joseph did not feel embarrassed at all; instead, he felt gratitude like he had never felt before. If it wasn't for the fact that kneeling was not accepted in Bharatiya culture, he would have become a respectful Japanese by now.
"Your Majesty, for Israel, please use me however you see fit. Even if my life is on the line, if the Kingdom of Heaven can come back to life once again, I am willing to sacrifice my life and everything I have," his eyes a little fanatical as he joined his hands in Namaskara.
Vijay was not surprised by this look, since if someone said that they would get you your freedom and dignity back to a freedom fighter in the 18th and 19th centuries, maybe they would react more extremely.
"I don't want you to sacrifice your life or anything. The only reason I'm helping you is because my empire is currently in a process of rapid growth, and the talent is not keeping up with its growth. So I need your Jewish community, who are mostly learned and proficient in business practices, to help out the empire." Of course, there is another reason, like gaining substantial influence in the Mediterranean with the springboard of Israel, or even control over the Suez for the future Suez Canal, but that doesn't have to be mentioned.
"So far, Mr. Joseph, I have three conditions."
Joseph immediately stiffened his back and intently listened.
"Number one: I need you to increase the immigration of Jews and Romani to the Bharatiya Empire in any way possible."
"Number two: Although we have some brilliant people working in finance, we have no one experienced in finance at the level Europeans deal with, so I need you to take the post of chairman of Mangalore Stock Exchange (MSE) for the next five years and train suitable talent in this area."
"Number three: This is a matter that is only possible for you to fulfill in the distant future, but once the Kingdom of Israel is established, the Bharatiya Empire will station both its military and navy in the Gulf of Suez."
Joseph Oppenheimer was surprised, as the conditions were not too harsh. But thinking about how to immigrate so many people, he was a little troubled. Still, for the Kingdom of Israel, he had to think of a way. As for being the chairman of the Mangalore Stock Exchange and providing the Bharatiya Empire autonomy over the Gulf of Suez, he had no problem.
"All three conditions are acceptable, Your Majesty. Please rest assured, I will get it done."
"Very good," Vijay said happily.
The final pieces of the financial overhaul had been put in place, and the only thing left for Vijay to do was press the red button and put things into action.

The news eventually spread to the ears of European diplomats staying in the Bharatiya Empire.
Simeon Brezhnev, reading the newspaper for the day, was immediately astonished. He hurriedly took out a special paper and quickly wrote down the new developments in the Bharatiya Empire, intending to send it back to his homeland.
Maximilian V stroked his chin in contemplation. "Should the Vienna Stock Exchange be opened once again?" he thought. However, considering the growing class of Junker aristocrats and capitalists in the empire, he began to hesitate. In the end, he decided to leave the matter for His Majesty to decide.
Pedro Santiago, reading the newspaper, was initially confused since the Spanish Empire did not have a history of stock markets. He thought that perhaps, had one existed, the empire might not be enduring the economic collapse it currently faced. Pedro immediately sought out some professionals in the field and simultaneously sent the message back home.
Henri Lefebure had a dignified expression on his face. "No, the Bharatiya Empire is growing too fast. This can't go on. I have to immediately alert His Majesty, Louis."
Pedro Santos immediately thought, ' Should I suggest His Majesty establish a stock market in our own kingdom? ' He wasn't sure but still wrote down everything and quickly transferred the information.
Leonardo Bellini had a similar reaction to Pedro Santos. He immediately contacted the Doge through his own channels and suggested the establishment of a stock exchange.
