Chapter 22 Drunk, but not completely drunk…
The aircraft was smoothly and gently heading towards Yi Er’s house in automatic driving mode.
Qi Yao sat in the co-pilot’s seat, bowing his head and earnestly rummaging through his pockets, taking out several individually packaged and differently shaped cookies, and offering them to Yi Er as if offering treasures.
Yi Er: “…?”
Qi Yao was somewhat unclear in his speech, slowly and softly saying, “I secretly got these for you, didn’t let them see, I tried them, they’re delicious, Yi Er, you should try them too.”
Yi Er couldn’t help but laugh and cry. Qi Yao was indeed quite drunk, actually sneaking cookies from the Imperial Palace for him to eat.
Indulgingly shaking his head, under Qi Yao’s eager gaze, Yi Er picked up one of the cookies, showed it to Qi Yao, and after getting Qi Yao’s permission, tore open the cookie’s packaging.
The bunny-shaped cookie was placed into his mouth, and with a crisp sound, the crispy and sweet milky fragrance spread between his lips and teeth.
Qi Yao eagerly asked, “How is it? Isn’t it delicious?”
While nodding, Yi Er secretly activated the recording function on the terminal.
The precise recording equipment focused on Qi Yao’s flushed cheeks. Suddenly, with a mischievous smile, Yi Er nodded his head and said, “Hmm… not delicious, too hard, like a stone, can’t bite it.”
Qi Yao frowned, staring at the cookie in his hand, puzzledly saying, “How could it not be delicious? I tried it this afternoon, it’s definitely tastier than the ones I made.”
Yi Er coaxed him, “You must have remembered wrong, don’t believe me, try another one.”
Qi Yao obediently took one, gripped the packaging and forcefully tore it open.
Didn’t tear open.
Tried again, still didn’t tear open.
Qi Yao got angry, swung his hand, threw away the disobedient cookie, and took another new one to tear open.
Yi Er pursed his lips and secretly chuckled. He just felt that Qi Yao, who was so silly and easily fooled, was really cute. He couldn’t help but take a few more glances, letting the recording capture the clear image, before picking up the piece of cookie that Qi Yao had thrown away and helping him tear it open.
It was a star-shaped cookie. Yi Er took out the cookie and held it in front of Qi Yao, saying, “Open your mouth.”
Qi Yao was engrossed in dealing with another disobedient package in his hand, and glanced sideways at the cookie Yi Er brought to his mouth. Obediently, he slowly opened his mouth.
Suddenly, Yi Er stopped moving, but the cookie remained at his lips, and Yi Er didn’t continue with the next step.
Qi Yao, puzzled, raised his bewildered face.
Just as he was vaguely wondering why the cookie didn’t move into his mouth, Yi Er suddenly withdrew his hand and took away the cookie from his lips.
Qi Yao pouted, feeling a bit annoyed. How could a cookie that was about to reach his mouth fly away?
With a quick grab, he grabbed Yi Er’s withdrawing wrist, and then his mouth leaned over, accurately and decisively biting down on Yi Er’s fingertip.
The crispy cookie instantly melted on his tongue.
Qi Yao got the taste of the cookie, afraid of being snatched away, quickly covered his mouth, raised his head, and savored the delicious taste in his mouth with satisfaction.
In the end, he even glared and blamed Yi Er because he had something in his mouth, making his speech even more unclear: “You lied to me, it’s obviously not hard at all.”
Yi Er’s gaze lingered on the fingertip that had just been kissed by Qi Yao, and that fingertip still retained the warmth of Qi Yao’s “kiss”.
The touch♪ sensation was soft and cool. He couldn’t find a suitable comparison, but he felt that the contact with the zerg’s lips was such a wonderful feeling. It seemed to reach straight to his heart from his fingertips, making his whole body feel light and unable to settle down because of this feeling.
He absentmindedly replied to Qi Yao, “Hmm, I lied to you.”
Qi Yao was very satisfied, “Is it delicious then?”
Yi Er smiled, “Delicious.”
“And do you think this one is delicious, or the ones I made?”
“The ones you made are delicious.”
But Qi Yao muttered dejectedly, “But I can only make simple-shaped cookies, I can’t make ones shaped like bunnies and stars…”
Yi Er chuckled softly, encouraging Qi Yao, “It’s okay, leave the complex and simple shapes to Dean. Dean has molds, so you don’t have to make them.”
Qi Yao disappointedly pouted again and covered his mouth.
Yi Er didn’t understand him at all. Qi Yao decided not to talk to Yi Er until they got home.
*
Two minutes after Qi Yao made his decision, the aircraft stopped in the villa’s courtyard.
Qi Yao, in a huff with Yi Er, was eager to get off as soon as the aircraft stopped. But now he was dizzy and heavy-headed. He opened the aircraft’s door, extended his foot out, and almost fell from the aircraft when his head was spinning.
Yi Er, quick-eyed and quick-handed, moved to help him, but Qi Yao pouted and pushed him away, refusing his help.
Yi Er was puzzled. What was going on? Wasn’t he fine just now? Was it the sobering soup taking effect? Was Qi Yao already sober?
Didn’t seem like it.
Qi Yao’s steps were unsteady, stubbornly refusing Yi Er’s help, walking as if treading on cotton.
Fortunately, the standby Xiao En was smart enough to turn on all the lights in the villa as soon as he heard the aircraft docking.
With the lighting, Qi Yao didn’t fall, but… walking pretending to be normal, he tried several times but couldn’t step up onto the steps at the door.
“Huh? Yi Er, why do the steps at home have a mind of their own? They won’t let me step on them.”
Yi Er, pretending to be calm, looked at Qi Yao’s distressed expression seriously and said, “Yeah, they won’t let you step on them.”
Qi Yao grumbled, “Why?”
Yi Er said, “Because they only let me step on them.”
As soon as he finished speaking, he bent down and reached for Qi Yao’s knees. With little effort, Yi Er lifted Qi Yao horizontally.
Sudden suspension, Qi Yao’s light call of “Ah,” hurriedly covered his mouth with one hand.
He seemed to have forgotten that he was sulking. He wrapped his arms around Yi Er’s neck, buried his head in the crook of Yi Er’s neck, and muttered, “My Yi Er has such great strength, next time I’ll carry him like this too.”
“I’ve recorded it all. When you’re sober, I’ll play it back for you frame by frame.” Yi Er walked steadily to the door, kicking it open with his foot, which Xiao En had already opened.
Qi Yao said, “Okay, play it back for me frame by frame.”
Yi Er sighed deeply. He resolved to mention a suggestion to Dai Na when he saw him again. He needed to check the formula for the sobering soup in the Imperial Palace to see if they had cut corners.
And he would also remind Dai Na that in the future, when dining with Qi Yao, he must never give him alcohol, not any kind.
Yi Er carried Qi Yao into the bedroom, placed him on the bed, and let him sit up. Without support, Qi Yao fell back on the bed in a sprawl.
He looked at the ceiling, “Yi Er, why do I feel like there’s water sloshing around in my head?”
“…”
Yi Er stood still, not responding. Qi Yao became anxious, propping up his heavy head with effort, grabbing Yi Er’s hand, pulling him over, and bringing him closer to himself, “Come here and listen, see if there’s water sloshing around, it’s so heavy.”
Qi Yao insisted on having him listen. Yi Er could only be dragged over, but now Qi Yao’s body was completely devoid of strength, almost all the weight was on his heavy head. As soon as Yi Er approached, Qi Yao lost control and lay down again.
With Yi Er, they fell onto the bed together.
“You hear that, gudong gudong.” Qi Yao pressed Yi Er’s head against his own, making his ear stick to his head.
“…” Yi Er sighed silently as he rubbed Qi Yao’s black hair, deciding to have Xiao En prepare a new sobering soup.
Thinking this, he was about to get up to instruct Xiao En.
Seeing Yi Er about to leave, Qi Yao grabbed him again, nervously asking, “Where are you going?”
Yi Er helplessly replied, “To wash up and sleep with you.”
“Okay.” Qi Yao grinned, indeed releasing Yi Er and instead embracing the nearby blanket.
By the time Yi Er returned, Qi Yao had already taken off his shoes and climbed into bed, wrapping himself tightly in the blanket.
In just a minute, Qi Yao’s speed was quite fast.
But wouldn’t he feel suffocated like this?
Qi Yao was still not fully awake, and Yi Er feared he might suffocate himself, so he went to pull his blanket. But Qi Yao, somehow finding strength, firmly pressed down the corners of the blanket, refusing to let Yi Er lift him out. He mumbled unclearly, “I’m sleeping.”
Yi Er was patient, “You can’t sleep now. Xiao En will come later to bring the sobering soup.”
“No need.”
“Why not? Can’t wait to sleep with me?”
“…”
Qi Yao didn’t move, but after a while, he stuck his head out from under the blanket, closed his eyes tightly, and only opened them after a while. He forcibly straightened his tongue and said, “Did you record again?”
At this, Yi Er immediately realized and suppressed the smile in his eyes, saying, “You’re awake?”
Awake, but not fully.
Qi Yao wished he could bury himself in the blanket and never come out.
What had he done? Stolen cookies from imperial zergs, quarreled with Yi Er, and said his head was filled with water…
Was his head really filled with water to let Yi Er listen? His only thought now was, “I’m finished, the Master’s face is lost again. Can I live on another planet?”
“Um… I’m awake…” Qi Yao didn’t want to admit this fact. It would be better if he didn’t wake up.
Yi Er teased him, “Do you remember what happened last time when you were drunk?”
Qi Yao pulled up the blanket, unwilling to face it. “Vaguely…”
Yi Er saved the video with ulterior motives and asked Qi Yao, “Do you want me to help you remember what you did?”
Qi Yao almost choked. He definitely didn’t want to see that embarrassing video again. He’d rather not remember.
“Since you don’t want to see it, I’ll keep it for myself,” Yi Er said.
“Hey, don’t…”
Qi Yao tried to sit up quickly to grab Yi Er’s video, but he wasn’t completely sober yet. He fell back on the bed as soon as he tried to sit up.
“Do you want to watch it then?”
“…Forget it, you keep it.”
Qi Yao had a clear understanding of his drunken behavior. He could do all sorts of weird things, but since it was just Yi Er who saw it, he didn’t care.
Turning over, he comforted himself on one hand while refusing to recall on the other.
“Speaking of which, I haven’t shown you the nonsense you said last time when you were drunk. Do you want to see it?” Yi Er asked with a smirk, seeming keen to discuss Qi Yao’s drunkenness.
Qi Yao was suddenly alarmed, completely awake now.
Last time, he seemed to have leaked some information he shouldn’t have, and he had even solemnly sworn there wouldn’t be a second time. Now it was a slap in the face.
“No… no need…” Qi Yao didn’t want to embarrass himself in front of Yi Er again, decisively refusing Yi Er’s eager recommendation.
Shortly after, Xiao En brought the new sobering soup.
Qi Yao still had a headache. To not disappoint Yi Er’s kindness, he treated it as a late-night snack and finished the new batch of sobering soup.
After drinking, ready to wash up and sleep, Yi Er remembered that he had been busy discussing the border star system with Si Niya in the afternoon, and then taking care of the drunken Qi Yao after returning, so he hadn’t had a chance to ask what Qi Yao and Dai Na talked about when they met.
Taking advantage of this moment, Yi Er asked.
Qi Yao said, “His Highness didn’t say much, just chatted with me like we were family. I feel like he was probing me through our conversation.”
Yi Er furrowed his brows, “Probing you?”
“Yeah.” Qi Yao recalled half, pondering the words Dai Na had said. “Initially, the zerg Sovereign had a skeptical attitude toward me, but as we chatted, he let go of his suspicions. I’m not sure what happened exactly, but I could clearly feel his change in mood.”
“There was one thing…” Qi Yao hesitated.
“What thing?” Yi Er inquired.
Qi Yao paused for a moment. The zerg Sovereign mentioned that Yi Er’s female father was pulled from the battlefield by his male father after losing his wings, and he wanted to ask Yi Er about his birth father and birth mother, but he was afraid of touching Yi Er’s sore spot. So he changed his words at the last moment, “His Highness knows I’m learning to pilot mechs and verbally encouraged me a lot!”
Qi Yao’s eyes sparkled, “Does this mean the zerg Sovereign personally endorsed me to become a military hero? Right, Yi Er?”
