Chapter 10: Did You Record Last Night?
In the morning, Dean came to tidy up Yi Er’s room as scheduled. Qi Yao heard the door and woke up in surprise, meeting Dean’s eyes as he entered.
Dean: “…”
He was sure he didn’t enter the wrong room, but… Mr. Qi, why was he in the this room? Didn’t they prepare a room specifically for him? Could it be that Mr. Qi had already captured Yi Er without him knowing? But there wasn’t any pheromone scent in the room.
Forget it, he had no right to inquire about their affairs. He was just a butler; where they slept and how they slept was not his concern.
“Is Mr. Qi awake?” Dean asked calmly.
Embarrassed to be caught not yet out of bed, Qi Yao scratched his head. “Morning, Dean.”
Dean stood at the door, looking down at the ground. “Do you want me to prepare a bath for Mr. Qi?”
“Yes, please, Dean.”
“Serving Mr. Qi is my duty; Mr. Qi need not be polite.”
After saying this, Dean went straight into Yi Er’s bathroom to run hot water.
The sound of flowing water came from the bathroom, and Qi Yao slapped his face to snap out of it. He remembered falling asleep on the sofa last night. How did he end up lying in bed when he woke up?
Oh, right. Last night, after coming out of the shower, to celebrate the leap in favorability to 1, prompted by the system, he drank the glass of wine Yi Er had given him.
As a result, the wine hit him hard, and he kept rambling, soon feeling dizzy and collapsing on the sofa.
And then…
It seemed like there was no ‘and then.’
Because there was memory loss.
“System, was I drunk last night? I didn’t do anything out of line, did I?”
Qi Yao didn’t have a high alcohol tolerance. When he was drunk, he tended to babble uncontrollably, saying whatever came to mind.
Knowing he had a loose tongue after drinking, Qi Yao rarely drank. But he hadn’t expected the wine given by Yi Er to be so strong, knocking him out after just a few sips.
The system yawned. “Remember, you kept confessing to Yi Er, saying you would work hard to increase his favorability and make him like you.”
Qi Yao covered his face, unable to believe he had revealed his intentions like that. “Really?”
The system lazily recounted the scene from last night. “You even spoiled the original plot to Yi Er, threatening him to believe you or else both of you would have a bad end. Then Yi Er asked you how you would have a bad end, and you said one would be subjected to execution by dismemberment, and the other would be shot through the head and never reincarnate.”
Qi Yao’s expression was complicated. Because he knew his own drinking habits, he believed the system’s words without question.
Recalling the scene from last night, the system added, “Yi Er found your behavior amusing and coaxed you into saying more, even recording it.”
Qi Yao instantly woke up. “Recorded it?”
The system: “Yes.”
How could it be recorded? Wouldn’t that give Yi Er leverage over him? What if the drunken words came true? Who could he reason with then?
Qi Yao angrily exclaimed, “Your system has a bug! How could you let me say such prophetic things? You should set up a program so that once I say something I shouldn’t, you automatically make me shut up!”
Suddenly, a blurry fragment flashed into his mind.
Yi Er sitting on the armrest of the sofa, raising his glass to lightly clink it with his.
The glass clinked. “What did you do? Should I treat you the same way?”
Qi Yao tightly covered his mouth with both hands, shaking his head incessantly, not uttering a word.
Yi Er removed his hands. Qi Yao hadn’t used much force, and after Yi Er grabbed his hand, he simply acted stubborn, leaning back on the sofa, feigning death with closed eyes.
And he kept up this act until now.
“…”
So, he did have some vigilance after all. He hadn’t revealed too much under Yi Er’s charm, had he?
The system recounted what happened next with a tsk-tsk sound: “A positive integer favorability rating is indeed powerful! After you fell asleep, Yi Er personally carried you back to bed. With his triple-S physical ability, it was effortless for him to lift you. It’s just a pity that he didn’t sleep with you but spent the night on the sofa. Let me calculate how high your favorability rating needs to be for you to share a bed…”
From the direction of the bathroom, Dean came out after preparing the bathwater. “Mr. Qi, the bathwater is ready. If there’s nothing else, I’ll head downstairs. If Mr. Qi needs anything, just call me.”
After saying this, he quietly closed the door and left the room.
Qi Yao entered the bathroom and saw the large basin of bathwater, suddenly realizing that he only needed to rinse off. Why did Dean fill a whole tub for him?
Had he misunderstood something?!
Oh no! If Dean found out he had caused trouble by drinking last night and hadn’t done anything, would he look down on him as a male zerg?
Too late for regrets!
Filled with regret and embarrassment, Qi Yao couldn’t bear to waste the bathwater and stepped into the bathtub, burying his face in his hands.
Suddenly, a “ding” came from the terminal. Qi Yao opened it and saw a message from Yi Er.
“After you’ve finished getting ready, come downstairs for breakfast. I had Dean prepare a hangover soup for you.”
Qi Yao immediately replied: “Did you record last night?”
Yi Er didn’t answer.
This made Qi Yao even more unsettled.
Why wasn’t Yi Er responding? It was just a recording. He just wanted to see what he had said last night that he shouldn’t have, so he could come up with solutions in the future. Why wouldn’t Yi Er reply to him?
As time passed, Qi Yao couldn’t bear it any longer and sent another message to Yi Er: “Can’t I take a look?”
This time, Yi Er responded promptly: “No.”
“Why?”
“Because the adorable drunken state of the male master is only for me, a single zerg, to enjoy.”
Adorable…
How could he be called adorable? He was an S-class male zerg, after all. Yet he was called adorable by his female master?
Qi Yao: “I want to see.”
Yi Er: “Then if the male master gets drunk again, I’ll have a second copy, and I’ll let the male master see the first one.”
A second time? That wouldn’t happen! There wouldn’t be a second time!
Just the thought made Qi Yao unable to face it, so he buried his face in the water to rid himself of the hot flush that had risen from his ears to his cheeks.
After burying his head in the water for a while, the system encouraged him: “Host, don’t be shy. Even I can see that General Yi Er has now put on an adorable filter for you that he can’t take off. Don’t you want to take advantage of this and increase your favorability rating?”
Take advantage of it?
Right!
Qi Yao suddenly sat up in the water. His work experience told him that when the client’s mood was good, the contract would be signed smoothly. Yi Er was in a good mood now, so when was a better time to increase his favorability rating?
“What time is it now?” Qi Yao asked the system.
“Host, it’s ten in the morning.”
Qi Yao thought for a moment, then opened the terminal again and asked Yi Er, “Are you coming back for lunch?”
Yi Er replied, “I still have yesterday’s matters to deal with. I probably won’t be coming back.”
Qi Yao: “Okay.”
After closing the terminal, Qi Yao said to the system, “Let’s go prepare a heartfelt bento.”
“A heartfelt bento? What are you preparing it for, Host?”
“Of course, it’s for Yi Er!”
“… Host, are you making it yourself?”
“Of course!”
The system doubted its own ears. “Host, you can’t! You’ll be ridiculed by everyone! There’s no male zerg in this society who cooks, especially for his female zerg!”
Qi Yao, full of vigor and high spirits, nothing could deter his decision to cook: “From today onwards, this society will witness the birth of the first male zerg who can cook! Let me add an adjective, the first male zerg who cooks for his female zerg!”
