Chapter 8: Chapter 6: A God’s Burden
As the smoke cleared and the echoes of battle faded, Kai stood amidst the wreckage, panting heavily. His body was burning with exhaustion, the flames within him dying down as the adrenaline wore off. His heart was still racing, but there was something different now. He had faced Doctor Doom, and he had won.
But as the fire subsided, the weight of his power settled heavily on his shoulders.
Thor landed beside him, his face serious but filled with respect. "You have done well, Kai. You have proven your strength."
Iron Man nodded, though his expression was more guarded. "That was... intense. But you've got potential, kid. You've just got to learn how to keep that fire in check."
Kai looked down at his hands, the flames now nothing more than faint embers. "I don't know if I can. This power—it feels like it's never going to stop growing."
"It won't," Thor said, placing a hand on his shoulder. "But remember, balance is key. You have the power of the Fire God within you, but that power is not for destruction alone. You must learn when to wield it—and when to restrain it."
Kai nodded, though a storm of doubts swirled in his mind. Could he truly control this fire inside him? Or would it eventually consume him?
