Chapter 28: Chapter 25: The Witch’s World

The pain was gone, and so was the world. When Kai awoke, it was not to the familiar landscape of Metropolis or the haunting presence of Darkseid, but to a new, strange world. His body felt... different. Cold. Like he had been submerged in some unknown substance. He was lying in a soft, damp bed, the air around him thick with the scent of herbs and strange potions.

As he slowly opened his eyes, he saw a figure standing over him—tall, with long robes and a mysterious aura that seemed to hum with magic. A woman with silver hair and piercing blue eyes looked down at him. She was unlike anyone Kai had ever met.

"Well, well," the woman said with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. "It seems you've had a rather unfortunate run-in with Darkseid, haven't you?"

Kai blinked, trying to piece together the events. The last thing he remembered was the Omega Beams, the searing pain, and then… nothing. It all felt like a dream.

"You're in my world now," the woman continued, as she observed him carefully. "My name is Morgana le Fay. I've had my eye on you for some time, boy."

Kai tried to sit up, but his body felt weak—like he was in a state of recovery. The magical energies inside him felt… different. It wasn't the raw, elemental power he had once commanded. There was something foreign in the air around him.

"Where am I?" Kai asked, his voice hoarse.

Morgana chuckled softly, taking a step back. "You're in a world far removed from the one you knew. This, my dear boy, is the wizarding world, a place of magic, of wonder… and danger." She gave him a knowing look. "You're not the first to be torn between worlds, but you are certainly the most interesting."

Kai felt the pull of his memories—Darkseid, the battle, the overwhelming power that had destroyed him. But how was he alive? Where was he? How could he have been brought to this place?

"How did I get here?" he asked again, his heart pounding.

Morgana's eyes glimmered with an unsettling curiosity. "The One Above All has a way of placing things where they belong. You were sent here, boy. And now, you are in the land of wizards, witches, and creatures of magic—far removed from the heroes and villains of your former world."

Kai's mind raced. He had been torn from his world and brought to this new one—a world that felt both familiar and alien to him. Magic—this was a land filled with it. Perhaps the key to mastering the new powers within him was here, among the wizards and witches who had shaped this universe.

"But why?" Kai asked, still not fully understanding. "Why am I here?"

Morgana's smile deepened, a hint of amusement flickering in her eyes. "You were brought here to learn, Kai. The magic of this world is different from the powers you wield. You must learn to control it. To understand it. And to embrace it fully." Her gaze turned cold, sharp as a blade. "And maybe—just maybe—you will find your path back to your old universe. But that is no guarantee. You may find that your fate is here, in this world, where magic rules and you must make a choice."

A strange feeling of both dread and curiosity washed over Kai. Could this world hold the answers he sought? Could he find the power, the control, the knowledge he needed to return to the DC Universe, to take revenge on Darkseid, or perhaps... to reshape his destiny once more?

Morgana's hand reached out, and in a flash, she conjured a glowing book before him—its pages filled with ancient runes and magic spells Kai had never seen before.

"Magic is the answer you seek, boy. But be warned: the deeper you dive into it, the more you risk losing yourself. You were not meant to be here. But now that you are, you must decide—will you become a master of magic, or will you let it consume you as your other powers nearly did?"

Kai stared at the book in Morgana's hands, the weight of her words pressing on his chest like a stone. He had died once—he had been torn apart by Darkseid's power. But he had been brought here for a reason. This world, with its strange magic and untapped potential, might just be the key to his survival—and his vengeance.

"I'll learn," Kai said, determination burning in his eyes. "I'll learn everything. And then… I'll return. Darkseid will pay."

Morgana's lips curled into a faint, knowing smile as she handed him the book. "Then your journey begins here, Kai. Welcome to the wizarding world."
