Chapter 47: Chapter 47: "Little Garden -- Giants, Dinosaurs, and Shadows"
The Straw Hat Pirates had finally arrived at **Little Garden**, an island frozen in time, where prehistoric creatures roamed freely and the air was thick with the scent of adventure. The island was a lush, untamed jungle, with towering trees that seemed to touch the sky and rivers teeming with life. But what truly set Little Garden apart were the **dinosaurs**—massive, roaring beasts that roamed the land as if they had never gone extinct.
As the Going Merry anchored near the shore, the crew gathered on the deck, their eyes wide with awe and trepidation. The island was both breathtaking and terrifying, a place where danger lurked around every corner.
Usopp and Nami stood at the edge of the ship, peering nervously at the jungle. The sounds of distant roars and the sight of massive creatures moving through the trees were enough to make them reconsider their decision to disembark.
"Uh, guys," Usopp said, his voice trembling, "I think I'll stay here and guard the ship. You know, just in case some pirates or sea monsters show up."
Nami nodded vigorously, her face pale. "Yeah, me too. Someone needs to make sure the Going Merry is safe. Besides, I need to update my maps and charts. You guys go ahead and... have fun."
Luffy, who was already bouncing with excitement, grinned at them. "Suit yourselves! But you're missing out on all the fun!"
Zoro rolled his eyes. "They're just scared. Let them stay. We don't need dead weight slowing us down."
Sanji, ever the gentleman, shot Zoro a glare. "Don't be so harsh, moss-head. Nami-swan is just being cautious. Right, Nami-swan?"
Nami forced a smile. "Exactly. Someone has to be the responsible one."
With that, Usopp and Nami stayed behind, while the rest of the crew prepared to explore the island.
As soon as the crew stepped onto the island, Sanji and Zoro immediately began competing. The island was a hunter's paradise, with an abundance of giant animals that would make for excellent food supplies. Sanji, always thinking about the crew's meals, was determined to stock up on fresh meat.
"Alright, marimo," Sanji said, lighting a cigarette. "Let's see who can catch the biggest prey. Loser has to cook for the winner for a week."
Zoro smirked, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword. "You're on, curly-brow. But don't cry when I bring back something twice the size of your catch."
With that, the two set off in opposite directions, their competitive spirits driving them to outdo each other. Sanji headed deeper into the jungle, his eyes scanning for any signs of movement, while Zoro followed the sound of rustling leaves and distant roars.
Vivi, meanwhile, stood at the edge of the jungle, her expression troubled. Her mind was far from the adventure at hand. All she could think about was **Alabasta** and the growing civil war that threatened to tear her kingdom apart. Every moment they spent on Little Garden felt like a moment wasted.
Luffy noticed her unease but didn't say anything. He knew that Vivi was carrying a heavy burden, and he respected her enough to give her space. Instead, he simply patted her on the shoulder and said, "Don't worry, Vivi. We'll get to Alabasta soon. But for now, let's enjoy the adventure."
Vivi forced a smile and nodded, but her heart wasn't in it. She couldn't shake the feeling that time was running out.
Luffy, ever the adventurer, decided to explore the island on his own. He had heard rumors of two giants who lived on Little Garden, and he was eager to meet them. As he wandered through the jungle, he marveled at the sights and sounds around him. The island was like something out of a storybook, with its towering trees, crystal-clear streams, and, of course, the dinosaurs.
After a while, Luffy stumbled upon a clearing where two massive figures stood. They were **Dorry and Brogy**, the two giants who had been locked in an eternal duel for over a hundred years. The ground shook with each of their blows, and their laughter echoed through the jungle.
"Whoa!" Luffy exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "You guys are huge! And you're fighting? That's so cool!"
The giants paused their battle and turned to look at Luffy. Dorry, the larger of the two, grinned. "Who's this little guy? He's got some guts to walk up to us like that!"
Brogy chuckled. "He's either brave or foolish. Either way, I like him!"
Luffy introduced himself, and the giants were impressed by his fearless attitude. They invited him to watch their duel, and Luffy eagerly accepted. As the giants resumed their battle, Luffy cheered them on, his enthusiasm infectious.
While Luffy was enjoying his time with the giants, two figures watched from the shadows. They were **Mr. 3** and **Miss Goldenweek**, agents of Baroque Works sent by Crocodile to monitor the Straw Hat Pirates.
Mr. 3, a tall, lanky man with a wax-based Devil Fruit power, adjusted his glasses and smirked. "So, these are the Straw Hats? They don't look like much."
Miss Goldenweek, a young girl with a paintbrush and a calm demeanor, shrugged. "Appearances can be deceiving. Remember what Miss All Sunday said. They're dangerous."
Mr. 3 waved her off. "Pfft. They're just a bunch of rookies. We'll take them out easily."
Miss Goldenweek didn't respond. She simply watched as Luffy laughed and cheered with the giants, her expression unreadable.
Meanwhile, Sanji and Zoro had both succeeded in their hunts. Sanji returned to the ship with a massive boar slung over his shoulder, its size impressive even by Little Garden's standards. Zoro, on the other hand, dragged behind him a towering dinosaur, its body still twitching from his final strike.
Usopp and Nami stared in awe as the two presented their catches.
"Whoa! That's huge!" Usopp exclaimed, pointing at Zoro's dinosaur.
Nami shook her head. "I can't believe you two actually went out there and fought those things. You're insane."
Sanji grinned. "All in a day's work for the future Pirate King's cook. Now, let's get this meat prepared. I'm starving."
Zoro smirked. "Looks like I win, curly-brow. That dinosaur is twice the size of your boar."
Sanji's eye twitched. "Shut up, marimo. Size isn't everything."
As the two bickered, Luffy returned to the ship, his face lit up with excitement. "Guys, you won't believe what I found! There are giants on this island, and they're awesome!"
Vivi, who had been quietly observing, finally spoke up. "Luffy, we need to focus. We can't afford to waste any more time here. Alabasta is in danger."
Luffy's expression softened. He walked over to Vivi and placed a hand on her shoulder. "I know, Vivi. But we need to be strong if we're going to save your kingdom. And this island is the perfect place to train and stock up on supplies. Trust me, we'll get to Alabasta in time."
Vivi sighed but nodded. She knew Luffy was right, but the weight of her kingdom's fate was a heavy burden to bear.
As the Straw Hats prepared to settle in for the night, Mr. 3 and Miss Goldenweek finalized their plan. They would wait for the right moment to strike, using their unique abilities to trap the Straw Hats and eliminate them.
Mr. 3 smirked as he molded a small wax figure in his hands. "Let's see how these rookies handle my **Candle Service**. They won't know what hit them."
Miss Goldenweek remained silent, her paintbrush poised over a canvas. She had her own plans, and she wasn't about to underestimate the Straw Hats.
