Reborn as crocodile before Luffy arrival, Run away with Robin

Chapter 9: Chapter 9 Crew Configuration of the Dawn

The next day, at the port, Rosen was a little surprised while watching the Dawn. Although he had been aboard luxury cruise ships like the Ocean Oasis, which were over 300 meters long, 60 meters wide, had 18 floors, carried more than 6,000 people, and had over 2,000 rooms, this was different.

The Ocean Oasis was a high-end product of modern technology, lacking the old canvas masts, so it did not look particularly bloated. However, this old sailing ship, which was only about one-fifth of the Oasis's length, gave Rosen the illusion of seeing the Ocean Oasis.

Despite the difference in size, the three main towering masts, each divided into four or five sections of canvas for flexible control, made the ship look impressive. The dense ropes spread and entangled, and with the high bow of the ship, it looked like a castle—truly shocking.

Seeing the Dawn, Rosen recalled a short film he had watched about Spanish galleons. For the first time, he saw such an ancient sea war beast. Rosen was both shocked and worried. Was such a wooden boat strong enough?

This concern was understandable. In his time, almost all ocean-going ships were made of steel and powered by energy. There were very few wind-powered ships, mostly used for small sailing activities and games.

Rosen had thought that maybe Robin should prepare a ship the size of the Thousand Sunny or the Going Merry, but he didn't expect it to be much larger.

Looking at the pirate flag hanging on the top of the main mast, it was the standard configuration of a villain. If the space design was reasonable, such a ship should not have a problem carrying hundreds of people with a full crew. The Dawn seemed to have a height of about five floors, with the stern part being the highest, and many rooms under the bow deck.

This kind of ship, if operated well, needs at least ten people. Even the Thousand Sunny required all its crew to be dispatched once it got busy.

"BOSS." Mr. 1 and others had been waiting on the ship for a long time. Seeing the crew members checking or adjusting the sails, Rosen felt excited for the first time. It was a novel experience of an unknown world, even just riding on this vintage Spanish medieval galleon.

The rest of the crew watched Rosen and Robin board the ship, and they all stopped their work, greeting enthusiastically: "Good BOSS!"

They were all selected people, favored by the BOSS. Being able to manipulate ships of this level was extremely exciting to them. More importantly, the overseas world promised more excitement, wealth, reputation—everything was closer to them.

Then, under the leadership of the boatman, Rosen visited this brand-new ship.

Near the bow of the ship, there were about three levels in the lower deck. The top level was the crew's rest area, the next level was the artillery ammunition storage area, and the bottom was the freshwater drinking area and the male bathing area, mainly for the life of the male crew.

In the middle of the ship was a restaurant that could accommodate dozens of people at the same time, with two dedicated chefs. Here, the third floor was built on the deck. The first floor was for dining, the second floor was the training area, which also served as the dispute resolution area, and the third was the conference hall.

At the stern was Rosen's room, higher than the middle part with five floors. On the top floor, the room was wide and luxuriously decorated. There were three rooms on this floor alone, with red carpets on the floor, hot furnace pipes near the wall, and carbon stones on the ship to provide heating when the weather was cold.

Considering Crocodile's original hobby, a water tank was set up in the lobby, housing a few small banana crocodiles.

"I'm really not Crocodile. What does it mean to have a few banana crocodiles, Madman?" Rosen complained inwardly, but he couldn't deny the charm. The front of the lobby had floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Sitting on the leather sofa in the hall, he could see the sea outside.

Additionally, there was a balcony surrounding the entire floor, allowing a 360-degree view of the sea and the ship. Rosen was extremely satisfied with his room, feeling it was the treatment a big man should have, indicating he was not short of money.

Below Rosen, the fourth floor was the room of the second BOSS, Nico Robin, and the third floor was the living area of the cadres. The bottom two floors were mainly for food storage, treasures, and other items.

Different statuses had different treatments, reflecting obvious class differences.

The Dawn was equipped with eight cannons in all directions, and the total number of personnel, including Rosen, reached 23. The current cadres were Robin, Daz Bonez, Mr. 5, and Miss Valentine. There was one ship doctor, two chefs, one shipwright, and two maids. The maids were mainly responsible for Crocodile's food and daily life.

The remaining 10 people were all ordinary sailors, though "ordinary" meant they had no Devil Fruit abilities. These were strong sailors, carefully selected, capable of beating dozens of ordinary people, with several having bounties of millions of Berries.

This was the current full staff configuration of the Dawn. The storage capacity was enough for the team of 23 people to eat for half a year, with many compressed or dried emergency foods. The ocean is vast and dangerous, so food preparation is crucial.

"Sailing!" Everyone gathered on the bow deck. Rosen stood on a three-story stand in the middle, followed by Robin and the other four officials. He took a puff of his cigar, expelled the smoke ring, and stared below. Three teams of 18 people received the sailing order.

The current captain of the Dawn was Crocodile , with first mate Nico Robin, followed by Daz Bonez.

With an order, the sailors swiftly ran. These sailors all knew basic sailing skills and how to navigate the Grand Line.

The canvas was lowered, the ropes were unwrapped, the position of the sail block on the main mast was adjusted, and the wind direction was judged. After quick action, the Dawn slowly moved, and the sea breeze suddenly became stronger...

Many people in the port watched this valuable sailing ship set sail, with either envy or disdain. Some naval intelligence agents took the opportunity to send back the news of Crocodile sailing to Headquarters.

After all, the actions of the Warlords of the Sea warranted attention.

As the Dawn was launched, its speed gradually increased from slow, and it soon left the docked harbor. Once it entered the real ocean, a new life would begin. The plot? Those didn't exist—goodbye to the old.
