Chapter 210: Chapter 210: Caught in the Nethace
Thanks to the relentless efforts of Richard Castle and his portly accomplice, who were eager to witness the grand finale, Dominic and his crew managed to survive the intense manhunt led by the enhanced Hernan's men.
But who could have guessed that the true motive of the black-hearted Castle and his accomplice wasn't the money Dominic promised—a third of the vault money that rightfully belonged to Hernan Reyes? These shameless duo's real desire was to watch Dominic's crew attempt to rob Hernan!
To achieve this ultimate goal, they even allowed Hobbs and his team, who had been tailing Dominic and vowing to bring him back to the USA, to surround Dominic's hideout villa before giving the warning. Only then did the portly accomplice notify the four inside the villa—Dominic Toretto, Mia Toretto, Brian O'Conner, and Dominic's ever-loyal brother-in-arms, Vince!
However, the treacherous duo delayed their warning until Hobbs had fully surrounded the villa. Despite Dominic's years of experience as a small-time thug evading police, there was no way he could escape from the tactical precision of Hobbs' team.
Brian was the quickest to react. Having undergone formal training, he immediately sprang into action upon hearing his brother-in-law's shout from the second floor. Rushing into the kitchen, he grabbed his girlfriend Mia and headed for the back door, where a powerful Dodge Challenger was parked. If he could just reach the car and start it, he was confident he could get his pregnant girlfriend to safety! As for Dominic, everyone was on their own now!
But Hobbs, an expert in capturing fugitives, had left no such gaps in his plan. As Brian, still holding Mia's hand, opened the back door, he was greeted by a massive Knight XV vehicle blocking their escape. To make matters worse, a federal agent with an M4A1 rifle stood ready, aiming straight at the open door and the couple.
Brian, a self-confessed wife guy, immediately surrendered. With Mia pregnant and unable to flee, leaving her behind was not an option. So, for the safety of his girlfriend and their unborn child, Brian raised his hands in surrender to the federal agent at the door.
Vince, typically slow on the uptake, finally realized their dire situation when he saw Brian surrender at the back door. He shouted from the second floor, alerting the others to the danger. But with Dominic having already jumped out a window and fled, Vince was the only one left in the villa. He knew it was time to escape, not to wait for trouble.
Unfortunately, Vince's instincts weren't sharp enough. He tried to run straight out the front door, only to be met by two automatic rifles aimed directly at him. Defeated, he too raised his hands in reluctant surrender.
The only one who managed to escape the villa was Dominic. Despite the delayed warning, years of evading the police gave him the presence of mind to react correctly. Knowing he couldn't get his sister out in time, he trusted Brian to take care of her. So, after alerting the others, he leaped out of a second-floor window and bolted towards what seemed like an unguarded direction, trying to flee.
But Dominic's large and conspicuous frame made him an easy target. Hobbs, spotting his giant target fleeing, pursued him with relentless determination, like a starved rogue eyeing a flashy hen.
Meanwhile, Castle and his portly accomplice, comfortably seated in their hotel room, were watching the live action through six large screens. Castle couldn't help but comment, "Look at that, Brian surrendered... well, he is with Mia, so he can't exactly run. And being such a wife guy, there's no way he'd leave his pregnant girlfriend behind... Wow, Vince tried running out the front? What an idiot... And Dominic, there he goes, jumping out... Hobbs is right on his tail..."
The portly accomplice, with his head in his hands, couldn't understand his uncle Castle's twisted amusement. "Wasn't all this happening because of you? Just to watch the show, you helped Dominic's team and now let Hobbs' team corner them. And now you're critiquing their escape? This is... absolutely hilarious!"
Rick Castle indeed had promised that watching this real-life drama would be more entertaining than watching beach scenes of scantily clad women. The portly accomplice, not as demonstrative as Castle, was still engrossed, munching on a bag of chips as he watched the chase unfold, though he didn't share Castle's confidence in Dominic's fate.
Curious, he asked, "Uncle Rick, how are you so sure Dominic can't escape Hobbs?"
Castle, still buzzing with excitement from Brian's surrender, took advantage of a lull in the action to explain, "This big guy Dominic, always talks about family and unity. Now that his buddy Vince and dear sister are in Hobbs' hands, if Hobbs catches up, Dominic will surely give up after a sweaty muscle showdown. Just keep watching..."
Castle's explanation was brief but the unfolding events matched his words perfectly.
Hobbs, indeed fueled by a passionate pursuit, caught up to Dominic, and they began a grueling, sweat-drenched wrestling match in a garden. Watching the scene, Castle and his accomplice were on the edge of their seats, hearts racing.
Unfortunately for Dominic, when he saw Mia and the others being brought out in handcuffs, his fight drained away. Realizing resistance was futile, Dominic surrendered to Hobbs, who promptly cuffed him.
"Wow, Uncle Rick, you were right again..."
The portly accomplice was genuinely impressed by his uncle's uncanny prediction skills.
Castle, however, wasn't concerned with the admiration in his nephew's eyes. He knew this was just the beginning of today's explosive series of events. Seeing that Hobbs, only interested in capturing Dominic, had neglected to thoroughly search the villa, Castle instructed his accomplice to contact Tej immediately, to let him know that Dominic's crew had been taken by Hobbs and that they should quickly move the weapons and supplies from the villa to a safe place.
Castle also had his accomplice relay to Tej that Dominic and his crew wouldn't be taken back to the USA so easily. Tej should inform the others to remain calm, as it wouldn't be long before Dominic and the team would be back to continue their heist against Hernan Reyes. Castle knew he needed to keep the team together to ensure the continuation of the action he so eagerly anticipated.
While his accomplice handled the communication, Castle continued to track Hobbs and his convoy of three vehicles with his drone. He had already infiltrated Hernan's lieutenant Mario's phone and knew the exact location of the ambush planned for Hobbs. This was the highlight of the day for Castle, and he wasn't about to miss it.
Mario's team was already in position, and coincidentally, the ambush site was less than two kilometers from the hotel. With the drone's impressive capabilities, Castle could comfortably stay in his hotel and watch the action unfold with a god's-eye view.
Thinking about the upcoming showdown, Castle trembled with excitement. Hobbs' convoy had armored vehicles, but from eavesdropping on Mario's calls, Castle knew Mario had prepared six RPGs—two per vehicle, ensuring a spectacular display. Castle had never witnessed a real battle before, and today's fiery drama was bound to be an eye-opener!
