Reborn as a Saiyan in marvel

Chapter 109: Asgard's Final Stand

Thor stirred from unconsciousness, his body aching as if the very essence of his strength had been drained. His vision blurred before settling on the remnants of his people, scattered, weary, but alive. He pushed himself upright, taking in the grim sight before him. The golden majesty of Asgard was gone, reduced to distant embers in the void of space. In its place, only the battered remnants of its proud citizens remained aboard the Harbinger of Ruin, their faces marked by grief and uncertainty.

"Is this truly all that is left of us?" Thor asked, his voice hoarse with sorrow. A pained look crossed his face, his fingers gripping the edge of a nearby railing as if grounding himself from the crushing weight of his losses.

William stood beside him, arms crossed as he observed the gathered Asgardians. The flickering emergency lights illuminated the makeshift refuge of a people who had once ruled the stars as gods. His expression was unreadable, but his mind churned with thoughts far heavier than his calm demeanor let on.

"This is definitely more than would have lived normally," William mused internally, scratching his chin. "But still, so many died..."

The crowd parted as a lone figure approached, his golden eyes gleaming with urgency. Heimdall stepped forward, cradling his infant son, his usually stoic face marred by unease. He knelt before Thor, bowing his head. The warrior who had once been Asgard's all-seeing sentinel now stood as a father, a protector not just of a realm, but of a life far more fragile.

"My king," Heimdall began, his voice steady despite the dread in his gaze. "I sense the approach of the one known as the Mad Titan, Thanos. He comes, and he brings an army."

A palpable tension spread through the gathered Asgardians. Some gasped in horror, while others clutched their loved ones, the weight of Heimdall's words sinking in like cold iron.

Thor clenched his fists, and arcs of crackling lightning briefly flickered around him, a pale imitation of the storm he once commanded. He exhaled sharply, his shoulders sinking as exhaustion weighed on him. "By the Nine Realms… he picked an excellent time for it." He shook his head. "I am still weak from the battle with Hela, and Asgard's armies are all but nonexistent. We are not ready."

The thin bolts of electricity dissipated from his hands, and silence settled over the Asgardians. Fear threatened to take root, until the quiet was broken by a series of sharp cracks, like bones snapping in place.

Thor turned to see William stretching, his body flexing in ways that seemed unnatural, each movement accompanied by loud pops as his joints realigned. He bent backward, arms extended, before rolling his shoulders. The nonchalance of it all sent an odd ripple through the tension, as if he were preparing for nothing more than an intense spar.

Then, William leapt into the air, his body moving with a grace that belied his power. His sharp gaze snapped toward the vast darkness of space, his expression sharpening. He could feel them, an insurgence of life forces rapidly approaching Asgard's ruins. Most were insignificant, like flickering embers in a void. But among them, a few shone like raging infernos, each presence brimming with overwhelming might.

His lips curled into a smirk. "They're here."

As if on cue, the stars themselves seemed to ripple and bend as a massive, obsidian warship emerged from the void, its presence blotting out the distant glow of Asgard's destruction. The air vibrated with an ominous hum as its colossal form loomed overhead. Then, like a floodgate bursting open, the ship released its cargo.

Thousands of warriors poured forth, their forms silhouetted against the distant light of the cosmos. Their armor gleamed like polished obsidian, their auras flaring with an eerie golden brilliance. William's smirk faltered as his eyes widened slightly, realization dawning upon him.

Each and every one of them was a Super Saiyan.

A low, almost imperceptible chuckle rumbled in William's throat. He could feel the raw, unfiltered energy radiating from the warriors as they spread through the void like a celestial plague. His heart pounded, but not from fear. This was something else entirely, a thrill, a challenge unlike any he had anticipated.

Thor, however, was not as amused. His grip tightened around Mjolnir's broken handle, the memory of his father's words echoing in his mind. He turned to William, his voice grave. "What… are we looking at?"

William cracked his knuckles, his smirk returning in full force. "Something I didn't expect!"

The enemy army of thousands of golden, glowing warriors floated in the sky in stark uniformity, each one glaring at the ruins of Asgard as if it were the next great meal to be devoured. Their eyes burned with an unrelenting hunger for destruction, their auras flickering like golden flames against the dark void of space.

"WHOOSH!" The very fabric of the air seemed to warp as their collective energy surged, merging into a near-singular mass of Ki flames. The overwhelming pressure bore down upon the surviving Asgardians, a suffocating wave of power heralding their inevitable charge. And then—

As if receiving an unseen signal from the massive warship looming ominously behind them, the Saiyans roared in unison.

"HAAAA!"

"DIEEE!"

Their voices rang out like war drums, a symphony of battle cries that echoed over the battered remnants of Asgard. A golden tidal wave of warriors surged forward, descending toward the weakened Asgardians like ravenous predators.

However—

"WENG!"

A brilliant green light erupted in their path. In an instant, a massive barrier constructed of pure, crackling energy materialized before them. The transparent wall was laced with razor-sharp spikes, standing as an unyielding fortress against their charge. The Saiyans skidded to a halt mid-air, barely avoiding impalement, their furious gazes snapping downward toward the one who had dared to oppose them.

William stood below, his stance relaxed but his presence towering. His sharp eyes glowed with an eerie confidence as he slowly lifted his massive hand, extending his ring finger, the very one responsible for erecting the barrier. With a slow, deliberate motion, he curled it in a taunting gesture, daring them to advance.

Tension crackled like a live wire between them.

Then, in a sudden motion, William flicked something toward Thor. The God of Thunder instinctively caught it, his brows furrowing in confusion. But before he could speak, William vanished.

"Huh?!"

In the blink of an eye, he reappeared in the midst of the airborne Saiyan horde. A moment of stunned silence passed as the warriors processed his sudden intrusion, their instincts screaming in alarm at the sheer audacity of it.

"HAAAAAA!"

William roared, unleashing a devastating shockwave of Ki from his very core. The explosion of power ripped through the enemy ranks, sending Saiyans hurtling in every direction. Some were violently smashed into the Asgardian streets below, their bodies cratering the ground with brutish force, while others managed to right themselves in mid-air, their snarls of rage barely audible over the roar of energy.

Those still airborne recovered swiftly, their warrior instincts kicking in as they converged on him from every possible angle. A dozen fists and feet lashed out in a coordinated assault, seeking to pummel the lone intruder into submission.

"BOOM!"

The impact echoed like thunder, but William didn't budge.

His arms remained crossed over his chest, his eyes shut as the blows rained upon him. The Saiyans gritted their teeth, pouring more force into their attacks, yet their strikes barely made his body shift. Then, to their growing horror, they heard it—

A chuckle.

"Hehehe…" It started as a low, dark rumble from deep within his chest.

Then it grew. "Hahaha… HAHAHAHAHA!"

Laughter. Wild, unhinged, and laced with unbridled excitement. William's eyes snapped open, revealing emerald flames swirling within their depths. His battle lust had been ignited.

The Saiyans faltered for a fraction of a second, confused by the strange, vibrant energy that now engulfed William's form. This Ki… it was unlike anything they had ever seen before. It burned with an unnatural intensity, its emerald glow casting an eerie illumination over his form.

And then, he moved.

Faster than their eyes could follow, he seized the wrists of the two closest Saiyans, the very ones who had struck his face. They barely had time to gasp before he swung them like living clubs, their unwilling bodies crashing into their comrades with bone-crushing force.

"BANG!"

The air trembled as bodies collided, the impact sending warriors tumbling toward the ruined ground below. The unfortunate Saiyans writhed in pain, their tails lashing in fury at the humiliation of being used as weapons against their own kind.

On the streets of Asgard, those who had fallen groaned as they staggered to their feet. Their pride demanded retribution. Clenching their fists, they gathered their energy, their combined Ki forming a massive sphere of blinding yellow light. The air crackled with unstable power as they aimed the devastating attack directly at William.

Yet he remained still.

His arms spread wide in a gesture of invitation. His smirk deepened as he stared down the growing mass of destruction, his defiance searing into their already-burning rage.

He was challenging them.

The Saiyans let out furious war cries as they unleashed the full brunt of their attack.

And William…

Did not move.

The colossal mass of yellow Ki surged toward William, its sheer magnitude illuminating the battlefield like a second sun descending upon the ruins of Asgard. The very air trembled under its overwhelming heat, crackling with barely contained devastation. Yet, in the face of this impending annihilation, William merely smiled, a smirk of absolute confidence, unshaken by the storm of destruction bearing down on him.

Then—

A shift.

His hair bristled as if caught in an unseen wind, standing on end before rapidly transitioning into a radiant blonde. His aura exploded outward in a golden blaze, flickering with volatile intensity. The sudden transformation sent a ripple of unease through the enemy ranks. The attacking Saiyans faltered for a mere second, their instincts screaming at the sheer familiarity of the power now emanating from their opponent. But it was too late to stop their combined assault.

"RUMBLE!"

Asgard trembled under the sheer pressure of the incoming energy, loose debris rising into the air, caught in the gravitational pull of the massive Ki sphere. And yet—

William did not move.

He simply lifted his fist, then slowly opened his palm, extending it forward with an air of almost casual defiance.

"WHOOOSH!"

The golden inferno struck his hand with an earth-shattering impact, sending shockwaves rippling outward in all directions. The residual energy from the collision lashed out violently, striking several Saiyans who had been mere spectators to the attack. They were sent flying, their bodies crashing into the ruins of Asgard with bone-jarring force.

Amidst the chaos, William remained still, his eyes gleaming with focused determination. Then he took a step forward.

"CRACK, CRACK!"

Each step buried his feet deeper into the cracked Asgardian ground, the sheer weight of his defiance pressing into the broken rubble beneath him. Yet, despite the overwhelming force surging against him, he continued pushing forward, his muscles tensing, veins bulging as he forced back the colossal wave of energy with nothing but raw, unyielding strength.

Above him, the Saiyans exchanged uneasy glances.

"MORE POWER!" one roared.

They responded immediately, pouring additional energy into the attack, feeding the ever-growing mass of destruction. The golden sphere crackled with even greater intensity, its brilliance momentarily outshining the stars. The battlefield became a storm of energy, and for a moment, William's advance slowed as the pressure mounted against him.

But then—

His expression shifted.

With a sharp inhale, he suddenly halted his forward movement. Instead of resisting, he shifted his weight, lifted his leg, and then—

"BANG!"

His foot smashed into the heart of the energy mass, sending out a shockwave of emerald and gold. But this was no mere act of defiance, it was calculated.

In the fraction of a second where his foot connected, a jet of his own Ki erupted from the impact, forcefully redirecting the energy in an instant.

The battlefield froze.

And then—

"RUMBLE!"

The colossal attack reversed its trajectory, hurtling back toward the very warriors who had unleashed it.

The Saiyans barely had time to react.

"WHAT—?!"

"MOVE!"

Some attempted to dodge, their eyes widening in horror as the uncontrollable mass of energy came screaming toward them. Others were too slow, too stunned by the impossibility of what had just occurred.

"AAAHHHH!"

Their screams were swallowed by the chaotic inferno as the energy engulfed them. The sheer force of the blast vaporized some upon impact, their bodies lost within the searing explosion. Those who survived the initial detonation were sent hurtling downward, their charred bodies slamming into the ruined Asgardian streets below with sickening finality.

The battlefield fell silent, save for the crackling embers of residual Ki dispersing into the air. The scent of scorched flesh lingered like an omen of doom.

William lowered his foot back onto solid ground, rolling his shoulders as he exhaled slowly, his emerald and gold aura still flickering violently around him.

He glanced up at the remaining Saiyans, those who had managed to escape their own attack, their faces now marred with disbelief and rising fury.

He smirked.

A wicked grin spread across his face as he surveyed his opponents, his eyes gleaming with a mix of amusement and disdain. "You'll have to do better than that," he taunted, his voice dripping with confidence.

In the back of his mind, his thoughts churned like a storm. It seems my Super Saiyan form outstrips theirs by at least fifty percent. Their power is shaky, each one only able to muster a fraction of their potential. The odds are in my favor, this fight is already won before it's even begun.

His muscles tensed, the air around him crackling with raw energy, as he relished the overwhelming strength he commanded. The battlefield, though littered with opponents, felt increasingly empty to him, his superiority undeniable.

With a sudden crackle of energy, a Saiyan descended from the ship, wrapped in a shimmering, electric aura. William's eyes narrowed as recognition hit him, Raditz. But this wasn't the same Raditz he remembered. His hair was wild, more like a flaming bird's nest than anything else, and his power had spiked to an alarming level, Super Saiyan 2. It was a transformation that seemed almost unnatural on him, a volatile storm of energy that set the air around him crackling.

Raditz sneered, his lips curling into a mocking grin as he raised his hands, charging up his signature attack. "Keep your eye on the birdy!" he taunted, his voice dripping with arrogance.

Before William could react, two beams of searing purple energy shot from Raditz's outstretched hands, racing toward him like twin missiles. Without breaking a sweat, William effortlessly dodged the blasts, his movements fluid and almost casual.

But then, something unexpected happened. Boom, boom!

The beams, impossibly, veered off course, snapping back toward him with deadly precision. William barely had time to brace himself before the beams struck his back with an explosive force, sending him hurtling through the air, his body crashing toward Raditz.

Just as William regained his footing in midair, he saw Raditz preparing something even more dangerous, a strange, pink ball of energy crackling with electricity. The tension in the air thickened as Raditz's voice rang out, full of malice. "SATURDAY CRUSH!"

The electric pink sphere of ki shot forward like a bullet, colliding with William in an earsplitting explosion that rocked the battlefield. The impact was deafening, a violent eruption of light and sound that left the air thick with smoke and debris. William's body was thrown back, the force of the blast almost overwhelming, but his resolve remained unwavering.
