Chapter 1: A Lunatic's Cage
America
Beneath the surface of prosperity, countless evils are hidden.
In Chicago, there exists a prison like no other. Those incarcerated here are the worst of the worst, and it's nearly impossible for anyone sentenced to more than ten years to even enter.
Here, aside from eating and finding fleeting moments of pleasure, the prisoners spend their days in small spaces of less than five square meters. The only source of amusement is either bullying your roommates or becoming a victim of it.
"Give me a cigarette!"
"Brother, I don't have any left! What you smoked ten minutes ago was my last one!"
Du Wensen stared expressionlessly at the scared, aggrieved face in front of him and said impatiently, "I don't want the three cigarettes hidden in your socks. Just give me the one you're hiding in your sleeves!"
Kevin, incredibly frustrated, had hoped that with the arrival of a new Asian inmate, it would finally be his turn to bully someone. But in just a few days, Du Wensen had driven him to the edge of insanity. The guy seemed to have eyes like a clairvoyant—he always knew what Kevin was hiding.
"Brother, this is really my last cigarette. I really don't have any more," Kevin muttered helplessly, lighting the cigarette and handing it to Du Wensen.
Du Wensen took a deep drag, exhaled slowly, then collapsed onto his bed, staring at the ceiling.
"Don't worry. I'll never ask you for cigarettes again," he said with a smirk.
"You're lying! You're stuck with me as your roommate. Who else would give you cigarettes, except me or the prison guard outside?" Kevin complained.
Du Wensen took another deep breath. "I'll miss the smell here. Genius can't be concealed, no matter how deep it is hidden."
Kevin, in despair, clasped his head in his hands. "Please, stop talking, you lunatic! I swear, I'm changing cells tomorrow!"
"Strictly speaking, I was once diagnosed with Capgras delusional syndrome, not what you'd call a neurosis," Du Wensen patiently explained.
Kevin was stunned. "What kind of disease is that?"
"To put it simply, I think my lover has been replaced by someone who looks exactly like them," Du Wensen flicked the ash from his cigarette and continued casually.
"You're lying!" Kevin jumped out of bed angrily and stood in front of Du Wensen. "You said you have no relatives, no lover, no friends, and no one you know in this world."
"Ignorance," Du Wensen said with a smile, raising the corners of his mouth. "I love the whole world!"

A month ago, Du Wensen suddenly appeared in Jumu Mental Hospital. The next day, all 158 people in the hospital—including patients, staff, and doctors—were dead. He was sentenced to ten years in prison for first-degree murder.
"How is this possible? A sentence of ten years for killing 158 people?"
"Of course, it's impossible. He didn't kill those people."
"Then why was he still sentenced to first-degree murder?"
"Because he killed the director of the mental hospital in front of everyone in court!"
"Why?"
"Apparently, he solved the entire case in court and accused the director of being the murderer."
"Why did he do this?"
"Because he thought the director was too stupid, so he killed him."
"Wait…how did he kill him in court?"
"Alright, Jaylen, no need to ask anymore. He's just a smart, mentally ill patient. We're only here to transport him to St. Yanel Sanatorium, as ordered. The rest is none of our business," Art said as he put away the documents.
"Got it. I won't ask what I shouldn't know," Jaylen nodded.
Soon, they followed the prison guards to Du Wensen's cell.
At this moment, Du Wensen had just finished his third cigarette. After throwing the butt to the ground, he stretched and said, "You guys are late! Your efficiency is terrible. Taxpayers' money is being wasted."
No one responded. After the prison guard opened the door, Du Wensen stepped out without a word and followed the two officers outside.
Only Kevin, who was on the verge of a breakdown, remained in the room, muttering to himself, "We agreed, no more asking me for cigarettes… we agreed…"
There were no inspections, no questions, and no interference as Du Wensen followed the officers out of the prison—the one known as one of the toughest in America.
The sun was strong outside. Du Wensen squinted, raised his head, and began to remove his clothes.
Art and Jaylen entered the car, only realizing that Du Wensen had not followed them. At that moment, Du Wensen was almost naked.
Jaylen couldn't help but turn his head and ask, "What's he doing?"
Art shook his head. "I don't know. Who can guess what a crazy person might do?"
"Correction. I'm a psychopath, not a lunatic. There's a clear difference between the two. It's as obvious as the difference between liking women and liking men!" Du Wensen said, standing naked in front of them.
Jaylen looked at Du Wensen's body, curious. "How do you know I like men?"
"Not only do you like men, but you're also a victim. And not just any victim, but one with masochistic tendencies. You're a lesbian too, with at least five sexual partners at the same time. If you dare to take advantage of me tonight, I guarantee you'll only like animals after that," Du Wensen said coldly.
"How do you know all this?" Jaylen asked nervously.
"You've worn three different perfumes this week, meaning you've dated three different men. Right now, you're covered in two different body scents, which can be seen from the way you walk and the concentration of the odors. You spent a very intense night with two friends yesterday." Du Wensen said, opening the car door and jumping in. "Now, give me my clothes. I don't want to be mistaken for a pervert."
Art quickly got into the driver's seat and turned to him. "How do you know I like women? It's impossible for me to—"
"Didn't your female companion tell you that she left a red lipstick mark on your butt? Or did you get up so quickly this morning that you didn't notice you were wearing her underwear?" Du Wensen said, sitting in the back seat while putting on his clothes.
Art turned red in embarrassment and quickly stuffed the pink patch exposed on his butt into his pants.
As the car started, Art and Jaylen exchanged glances and whispered at the same time.
"Perverted psycho!"
