Chapter 12: The Abandoned Temple (2)
Brandon moved. He tried his best to lower his body and began to approach like a purple antelope. Twenty metres, fifteen metres, ten metres. The purple antelope had obviously heard the movement and began to put down delicious water plants. Alert ears swivelled this way and that. His limbs were moving anxiously, obviously ready to run away.
No longer close, Brandon suddenly lunged on the purple antelope. The purple antelope was obviously a little panicked, and it ran away like crazy.
Although the purple antelope ran fast, how could it compare to the well-prepared Brandon?
Brandon used his internal strength and his speed suddenly soared to nearly 35 metres per second. The distance between Purple Antelope and him quickly shortened to five metres, then four metres, then three metres, and now it was only two metres. Brandon jumped suddenly, shot out at the purple antelope, and bit the purple antelope with his huge mouth.
The purple antelope suddenly felt a pain in its neck, and then was knocked down by a strong force. Then its body rolled violently on the grass, and hot blood spurted out from its throat. Its limbs were trembling and it tried to stand up, but it couldn't succeed.
The purple antelope felt that its power was slowly draining away, its body began to twitch unnaturally, and its eyes filled with fear stared blankly at the cloudless sky. Brandon got up from the ground, picked up the carcass of the purple antelope, and ran towards his cave.
The battle just now had obviously attracted the attention of the surrounding animals. When they saw Brandon killing the purple antelope, they continued minding their own business again. Only a few carnivorous animals were still eyeing him, but they obviously realised that Brandon was not easy to mess with so they did not dare come around.
After running to the cave, Brandon packed up and prepared to deal with the prey. He used his sharp claws to completely remove the skin of the purple antelope. The skin of the purple antelope was very smooth and soft. After drying for a while, it could be used as a mattress.
He poked at the fire pit with his paw, picked out a piece of charcoal with sparks, and started to light the fire. He was going to smoke the dried meat. The climate in the rainforest was hot, and if it was not dealt with in time, there would be a peculiar smell in less than half a day.
After a while, the fire pit started burning again. He pierced the entire purple antelope with a wooden stick. The entire purple antelope weighed about 200 kilograms. Brandon actually picked it up effortlessly, and then placed it on two boulders. The bright red meat slowly turned purple with smoke.
After an hour, Brandon took off the purple antelope, divided it into eight small pieces with his paws, and placed it in the vent of the cave to dry. At this time, Skyler flew in from the entrance of the cave, saw Brandon, and shot towards him.
She circled around Brandon 's head three times and finally stopped on Brandon's shoulder. Skyler seemed particularly excited. Her wings were moving back and forth and her mouth kept chirping. Ever since Brandon used his internal force to cleanse Skyler's lower meridians every day, Skyler seemed to be getting smarter and smarter.
He found that there was a weak internal force in Skyler's body that was running automatically and growing stronger. Brandon judged that Skyler might be practising instinctively.
Communication had become less difficult than before. Brandon could roughly understand what it meant. Of course, this was just a feeling. Brandon was assuming this based on Skyler's movements, frequency of speaking, and pitch. It took him a long time to basically figure out that Skyler was very excited, that she had discovered a strange place, and that she wanted Brandon to go see it with her.
Anyway, it was still early, and Brandon was also very curious, and he was also idle. He decided to see what that strange thing that Skyler wanted to show was.
The most indispensable thing about the dense virgin forest is mystery. Brandon and Skyler quickly climbed over the hillside and ran towards the dense jungle. Skyler didn't know what type it was, but she was flying very fast. From time to time, she turned around and shouted at Brandon, as if to urge him from time to time.
After running for nearly ten minutes, Brandon vaguely heard a roar. As he ran forward, the sound got louder and louder, and the surrounding area began to fill with fog. After a while, Brandon found a cliff in front of him, and a huge waterfall hung down from it, making a huge noise.
Seven adult elephants and two young elephants were playing in the water at the waterfall. Skyler's goal was obviously not here. She didn't stop at all and continued to fly forward. Brandon passed through the waterfall, and after running for about half an hour, he saw a large canyon of unknown depth.
The mouth of the canyon was covered with gravel, and it looked extremely desolate. Skyler flew down in a whoosh, and it seemed he was here. Brandon slowly climbed into the depths of the canyon. The canyon looked very desolate. There were not many trees at all, and there were strange peaks and rocks everywhere.
Suddenly, Brandon discovered that there was another boulder almost ten metres high in front of him. After bypassing the hill-like boulder, he saw a crack several feet wide appearing in front of him, extending into the upper and lower mountain walls.
In the darkness, there was a faint hint of cold air. Brandon's expression looked a little solemn. Skyler flew to his shoulder and chirped excitedly. It was obviously there, and he didn't know how he found it. Following the crack, Brandon carefully crawled forward. After climbing nearly a hundred metres, he found that the straight crack in front of him had a corner. Turning around, Brandon couldn't help but be stunned.
This mountain was hollowed out by something unknown, and a space with a radius of one kilometre appeared in front of them. Thirty or forty metres below was the bottom of the pit. From a distance, it was covered with flat boulders. There was a large hole with a radius of about three metres in the northwest corner, and.gravel was constantly rolling down from above and falling into the period. There were six large holes like this, evenly distributed around the huge space.
Brandon decided to crawl to the bottom of the pit to find out what was going on. He stretched out his sharp claws to grab the slightly raised stone, and crawled down. As he crawled, when his claws touched the stone, there was an empty echo from all sides, making the atmosphere instantly become a bit gloomy.
This was a huge square. There was a huge dome building directly in front of the square. The building had been sealed for an unknown period of time. Several stone pillars carved with strange patterns, supporting the entire dome. This place seemed to be a hall-like place, with a thick layer of stone powder accumulated everywhere.
The murals on the wall were far away, but only an outline can be seen vaguely. A total of eight sculptures were placed on both sides of the building. There were several statues carved from unknown stone materials. They were all black and were actually seven or eight metres high.
The muscles all over his body were bulging, his expression was ferocious, and there was something like a goat's horn growing on his head. Like the evil ghost coming out of the Nine Nether Purgatory. They held various weapons in their hands, including short staffs, large swords, leather whips, and one even held a feather from an unknown bird.
Lifelike, as if it were real. Brandon could even see a hint of fear in their ferocious expressions. As Brandon stepped forward, he felt a sense of oppression coming from the pavement, as if the sculptures would come to life immediately. It would make any person want to retreat subconsciously.
