Chapter 302: Donating Eggs
Power, he wanted power!
If he had enough strength, if he hadn’t lost an arm, maybe he could have defeated that zombie!
At this moment, Rong Yuan felt heartache for the first time over the loss of half his arm.
When the construction site collapsed, although he was lucky enough to escape, his arm was crushed under a concrete pillar.
Facing his late parents, the grief overshadowed the pain brought by the loss of his arm.
...But now, he wanted that arm back, so he could give this zombie in front of him a good, hard punch!
Roar!
The Power Element Zombie opened its mouth and bit down again!
The Guard Squad Member had already dealt with the Earth Element Zombie, and as he was about to go and save Rong Yuan, he saw the Power Element Zombie still lying on top of Rong Yuan, motionless.
One side of its temple had been pierced through by Rong Yuan’s other hand!More precisely, it wasn’t a hand, but a silver-gray metallic arm.
How had that appeared on the boy’s severed arm?!
Rong Yuan forcefully pulled out his severed arm, not caring about the Dark Blood spattering on him, and lay on the ground, astonished, looking at the metal emerging where his arm had been. Had it just saved him?
“Rong Yuan!”
Ban Xiaobo was scared out of his wits; in his eyes, the Mutated Zombie was still on top of Rong Yuan’s thin body, and he thought Rong Yuan had been bitten!
Unexpectedly, Rong Yuan slowly sat up, kicked the zombie away, and then raised the silver-gray metallic arm to greet him.
“Are you alright?!”
Ban Xiaobo hurried over to check Rong Yuan’s body for any signs of injury.
“Brother Banzi, I’m fine, let’s go inside,”
After quickly extracting the Crystal Core, Rong Yuan pulled Ban Xiaobo toward the gate. He knew that danger lurked everywhere, and this was not a place to chat.
Liang Jiuqing, who was inside the gate, said to the approaching pair, “Don’t let this happen again.”
“Thank you!”
Ban Xiaobo bowed deeply to Liang Jiuqing.
It was his recklessness that had gotten him through the gate; if Liang Jiuqing hadn’t been there, no one would have let him out.
Seeing Ban Xiaobo bring out a child covered in Dark Blood, the staff sighed but didn’t fuss, only asking the two to be checked for any scratches or bites from the zombies.
After a slew of thank-yous, Ban Xiaobo finally turned to look at the child he was holding; it was such a relief that he was okay.
Even he hadn’t realized that the child, bought by Su Jin with eight Crystal Cores, had become an important companion among them.

When Guo Yang went to find Liang Jiuhui to offer the contribution of spiced eggs and salted duck eggs, it wasn’t just Liang Jiuhui who was surprised—Guo Yang himself wasn’t very confident, given that these were all from Su Jin’s stock.
Recently, Su Jin and Lu Hao had come to talk to him about contributing some of the spiced eggs and duck eggs from her Space to the base, and he, along with Liao Yifan and others, was shocked for a while. Just how many chicken and duck eggs did Su Jin have in her Space?
This question also puzzled Liang Jiuhui; just how many spiced and salted duck eggs were there in Guo Yang’s Space?
However, Liang Jiuhui didn’t ask further. In the Apocalypse, it was normal for everyone to have some secrets.
What mattered was the intent behind Guo Yang’s gesture. It would be a lie to say he wasn’t touched by the thousands of spiced and duck eggs, which would have been generous even before the Apocalypse, let alone now when resources were scarce.
From now on, he decided, he would look after Guo Yang’s shop!
Liang Jiuhui had previously ordered the logistics department to provide extra meals for the survivors who had participated in resisting the Zombie Tide.
However, due to the scarcity of supplies, the only available meat was from mutant animals, not to mention vegetables. For the Guard Squad Members and Special Ability Users who had been injured and bled, if their nutrition could be improved, their bodies would recover faster, right!
Not only did Guo Yang donate eggs, but he also generously took out 20 bags of rice from his Space, causing Ding He, who was responsible for logistics, to be so moved that he was on the verge of kneeling on the spot, clutching Guo Yang’s hands.
“I was extremely ashamed at that moment,”
Guo Yang said in the tower while telling everyone about these events, causing Su Jin and the others to laugh. They had no choice but to ask Guo Yang to step in, since her Space was still a secret.
Looking at the still belligerent army of Zombies outside, Su Jin and Lu Hao decided to go down and fight once more. Although only half an hour had passed outside, they had rested for most of the day in the Space, and their physical strength and Special Abilities had long since been fully restored.
“Have you two rested well?” Xue Wanyi asked in surprise.
“Yes, we rested before you guys and now we’re feeling much better,”
Su Jin said, then she and Lu Hao went down together.
Liao Yifan and others, while eating the food Su Jin had brought out, almost wanted to wipe their mouths and follow them down right away, but they were stopped by Guo Yang.
“You can’t go, you need more rest,”
Guo Yang said with a serious face.
“Wh-why not? I feel like I’m already better,”
Liao Yifan, looking at Guo Yang who suddenly became serious, didn’t know why he suddenly felt a bit guilty.
“We’ll go down together later,” Guo Yang said.
Are you kidding? Those two were Level Four and Level Five, whereas his Fanfan was only Level Two. How could they be the same?
Liao Yifan pursed his lips and didn’t insist any further, continuing to eat the fruit.
This tower was located in a more secluded area, and it housed only a few people like Guo Yang, Yin Chengtian, and Shi Jin, with Xue Wanyi sitting at the entrance. If anyone came in or approached, Guo Yang would put the fruits and other edibles back into his Space, which is why Su Jin felt comfortable bringing out some food.
Su Jin and Lu Hao were the first to come out of the Space, and not only had their physical strength recovered, but also their Special Abilities were recovering faster than their family at home, so Su Jin wanted her family to rest a bit longer in the Space.
As they passed by the medical team where Mrs. Su was, they were stopped by her.
“Has it already grown out?”
Su Jin was somewhat surprised. Mrs. Su had come over to tell her about Rong Yuan’s situation. The boy had been on the battlefield and grown Metal Spikes during the fight. In her past life, she had heard that he seemed to have developed a metal arm only in the second year of the Apocalypse.
Could it be an early occurrence?
Seeing Lu Hao’s interested look, Su Jin pulled him in to take a look at Rong Yuan.
Aside from the fall injury on his back and the abrasion on his arm, Rong Yuan wasn’t seriously hurt, but his half-metal arm was drawing too much attention. Ban Xiaobo and a few others were crowding around him to catch a glimpse.
“Su Jin, Lu Hao, you guys are here!” Ban Xiaobo greeted with a smile.
“Yes, are all of you okay?” Lu Hao asked.
“Gao Lei and Rong Yuan have both been up, and they’re both fine. I haven’t gone yet,” Ban Xiaobo responded.
“You could try to shape it into the form of a hand,” Su Jin suggested to Rong Yuan.
“Sister Su Jin, does it look very strange like this?”
Rong Yuan seemed very concerned about what others thought, fearful they might find his arm disgusting.
“Of course not, it’s actually quite cool!”
Not sure why he asked, but Su Jin praised Rong Yuan nonetheless.
Rong Yuan appeared to be even happier. He watched Su Jin and Lu Hao leave, then looked at his own arm and smiled contentedly.
