Chapter 36
“He has quite an appetite,” Shen Wu said mockingly, sitting down next to Chu Muxi.
Xu Gaolai made coffee and Chu Muxi’s Yuexi black tea, bringing them over and placing them on the coffee table.
“Thank you, Uncle Xu.” Chu Muxi picked up the cup and took a sip. “It smells so good. Uncle Xu’s craftsmanship is the best.”
Shen Wu pointed at him and pretended to be angry, saying, “You rascal, your mouth is getting sweeter and sweeter now. Well, don’t think about coming here; I only have such a useful person beside me.”
Chu Muxi smiled and said, “Grandpa, you said that. Uncle Xu is one of our own, so helping you is like helping me. Aren’t they all the same?”
Shen Wu looked at Xu Gaolai, “Listen to what this kid said. I don’t know who he learned it from; he has a glib tongue.”
“Then I am grandpa’s grandson, and I must have followed you all the time. I learned it,” Chu Muxi said shamelessly.
Shen Wu and Xu Gaolai both laughed, “You brat, you dare to make fun of your grandpa.”
They joked for a while, and then Chu Muxi said seriously, “I came to see grandpa today because I really have something important to discuss.”
“Well, tell me.” Shen Wu calmed down and listened carefully to what Chu Muxi had to say.
Chu Muxi explained his plan, and Shen Wu nodded, remaining silent until Chu Muxi finished speaking.
Xu Gaolai didn’t say anything, appearing deep in thought.
Chu Muxi wasn’t in a hurry and waited for them to finish thinking.
After a while, Shen Wu said, “I think this idea is good, but some details need to be improved.”
“My idea isn’t mature and complete, so I need you and Uncle Xu to help me refine it,” Chu Muxi said sincerely.
Shen Wu looked at him and sighed, “Xiao Xi is really becoming more and more stable now.”
“I am an adult, so of course, I have to be stable,” Chu Muxi winked mischievously.
Shen Wu laughed again, “Gaolai, what do you think?”
“I also think that the young master’s method is feasible. I will consider some details and come up with a plan when the time comes. We can review it together,” Xu Gaolai said, showcasing his thorough approach as a special assistant.
“Uncle Xu, your thoughtfulness is appreciated,” Chu Muxi said sincerely.
Xu Gaolai smiled and said, “Young master, you’ll surpass me in the future.”
“Uncle Xu, you have to come and help me then,” Chu Muxi joked again.
Shen Wu immediately waved his hand dissatisfiedly, “Come on, hurry up, you brat. You always do whatever you want to the people around me.”
Chu Muxi stood up to leave, but Shen Wu said again, “Tomorrow’s coming-of-age ceremony, alas, it’s all Chu Tianhao’s fault. I can only throw a dinner party for you in a hurry.” When this matter was mentioned, Shen Wu became visibly angry.
As Chu Tianhao was Chu Muxi’s biological father, and Chu Muxi had grown up by his side, Shen Wu expected some consideration for his grandson’s coming-of-age ceremony from Chu Tianhao and He Hui.
The fact that they refused to make such face-saving efforts angered Shen Wu. He believed that people like them deserved their current fate, and Chu Tianhao’s future wouldn’t be any better.
“Okay, I will listen to grandpa in everything. Anyway, Chu Tianhao ran away on his own initiative, so he can’t blame me for coming to find you,” Chu Muxi said mockingly.
“Xiao Xi, don’t be angry with them; it’s not worth it. Those people will not end well,” Shen Wu comforted his grandson.
Chu Muxi raised his eyebrows and smiled, “Grandpa, I’m not angry. Who are they? How can I be angry for outsiders? Anyway, I am very happy now that you are by my side.”
“Good boy, don’t worry; even if you are in a hurry, grandpa will definitely hold a grand coming-of-age ceremony dinner for you,” Shen Wu said firmly, expressing his determination to celebrate Chu Muxi’s milestone despite Chu Tianhao’s absence.
Chu Muxi already harbored only hatred for Chu Tianhao and didn’t care about fatherly love. He didn’t have it in his previous life, and in this life, he no longer needed it.
“Then I’ll go back first. There are classes in the department in the afternoon,” Chu Muxi said, emphasizing his focus on his studies.
“Speaking of this, I remembered, Gaolai, what happened to what I told you before?” Shen Wu asked Xu Gaolai.
“We already have an idea, but that person said it will take two days to arrive at Central Star. We should be able to see him after the young master’s coming-of-age ceremony.”
“Grandpa, what are you talking about?” Chu Muxi asked curiously.
Shen Wu smiled and said, “Aren’t we going to find you a private tutor? Do you really want to graduate from that performance department? I know that you didn’t study your freshman homework well. If you want to transfer back to the Finance Department later, you will have to make up for the previous courses.” Shen Wu snorted.
Chu Muxi scratched his head in embarrassment, “I almost forgot. I know about it, grandpa. Thank you. When the teacher comes, I will study hard with him.”
“That’s fine. Okay, you go back first, right?”
“Come to grandpa’s place for dinner tonight,” Shen Wu insisted.
Since Chu Tianhao was not around, Chu Muxi had no interest in staying at the Chu house with He Hui and her children. But since he was going to live with his grandpa, he still had to go back and pack some things.
.
Unexpectedly, when he arrived in the classroom, Phil suddenly jumped in front of him.
“Chu Muxi! Tomorrow is your adult day!”
“Yes, what’s wrong?” Chu Muxi glanced at him, wondering why he was so excited.
“Then why didn’t you tell me! Don’t you want to invite me to your coming-of-age ceremony dinner?!” Even though Phil was a prince, he had never attended a so-called good friend’s coming-of-age ceremony dinner.
After all, he was the youngest prince in the royal family.
He naturally attended the coming-of-age ceremony dinners of several older brothers, but that was only as a relative.
His own coming-of-age ceremony banquet was just so-so, because His Majesty the Emperor was assassinated by some villains. Although the assassination was unsuccessful, the royal family was in chaos for a while and did not hold a grand banquet like the previous brothers.
They just invited some royal family members to come to the palace for dinner, which resulted in no major news reports. In addition, he was unwilling to show up.
Then, he quietly modified his appearance a little. It was not plastic surgery, just some high-tech means.
Therefore, he was able to conceal his identity and enter the Imperial University, becoming an ordinary student in the performance department.
Chu Muxi’s eyes flashed, “You want to come?”
“Of course! Aren’t we friends?!” Phil screamed strangely, “Don’t you consider me a friend?”
He covered his heart, pretending to be sad and crying, “How could you do this to me! Oh my god, my heart is hurt, and my friendship has been hurt by you, Chu Muxi!”
“Okay, okay, I didn’t say no, I will invite you. Just come tomorrow,” Chu Muxi said helplessly.
Establishing a good relationship with Phil was indeed an important part of his plan all along.
But now it seemed that maybe they could really be good friends.
