Rebirth Counterattack: I Heard That the Imperial Marshal Has a Crush on Me

Chapter 27

Chu Lulu of the Chu family touched her neck, revealing a faint blue mark. She spoke in a vicious, hoarse tone, “Will he come?”

Meanwhile, Chu Mubei laid on the sofa with his feet on the coffee table’s edge, grinned, “He’s thrilled. The naive guy eagerly agreed when he heard he could go.”

“How dare he hit me, that bitch! I’ll make him pay!” Chu Lulu scolded.

He Hui emerged from the kitchen with medicine, sat beside Chu Lulu, and said with concern, “Lulu, please stop talking. Let me apply the medicine.”

Chu Lulu winced, “Mom, be gentle; it hurts.”

“That little bitch dared to harm his own sister. If he comes back, I’ll handle him!” He Hui touched her daughter’s neck gently, “When will these marks disappear? We have Madam Ru’s banquet later, an invitation I secured at great cost.” She spent a fortune for it.

Chu Tianhao, the head of the Chu family, had many mistresses despite being married to He Hui. She entered the Chu family by risking her life and challenging Shen Lan with their children. Despite Chu Tianhao’s infidelity, He Hui turned a blind eye to his affairs.

Chu Tianhao’s career expansion elevated He Hui’s status, but she aimed for more in higher circles.

She advised her daughter, “Behave well at the banquet. Madam Ru has ties with Madam Lu’s cousin. Impress them, and you might be introduced to Madam Lu. Understand?”

Chu Lulu confidently replied, “Mom, I’m beautiful and the eldest daughter of Chu family. Why would they be picky?”

He Hui tapped her forehead, “Madam Ru is no ordinary person. Don’t be arrogant.”

Chu Lulu dismissed it, “Just an emperor’s lover, not big deal. They didn’t even make it well-known.”

He Hui scolded her, “At this kind of event, be low-key and cautious. Stop talking nonsense.”

She turned to Chu Mubei, “Have you arranged for tonight?”

Chu Mubei smiled sinisterly, saying, “Don’t worry; everything is under control.”

He Hui, looking at her children, nodded in satisfaction. Yet, thoughts of Chu Tianhao’s extramarital affairs made her stand up hurriedly, heading for another round of beauty treatments. She couldn’t let herself age and lose face to potential challengers.

Regardless of the family dynamics, Chu Muxi was content. Phil arrived early that morning, diligently reporting in daily despite his habit of sleeping or doing other things during class.

Curious, Chu Muxi finally asked, “Did you join the performance department just to sleep?”

Phil replied seriously, “Yes, anywhere else isn’t clean. Our classroom is cool and comfortable, no disturbances. It’s more comfortable than my bed at home.”

Chu Muxi looked at him skeptically, unable to equate him with the ‘smartest little prince’ title he’d claimed.

“Seriously, what’s with your face?” Phil stared at him dissatisfied.

Chu Muxi chuckled, “You must not be interested in going out to play.”

“Why go out? Where to play?” Phil’s actions were closely guarded, making it impossible for him to go anywhere without covert surveillance.

Chu Muxi teased, “Have you been to the Royal Capital Club?”

Despite the grand name, it’s an entertainment club on the central star, favored by dandies.

Phil, from a royal family, had never been there due to maintaining a noble image. But now, out of the palace, he was curious. “What place is it? Is it interesting?”

Chu Muxi, inviting him, explained, “It’s very interesting. My friend invited me tonight. If you’re interested, I’ll take you. Don’t worry about being noticed.”

Phil hesitated, concerned about being discovered. Chu Muxi reassured him, “I’m used to it; my family always sends people to follow. You’ll be fine with me.”

Phil, surprised, asked, “Can you really do that?”

Chu Muxi confidently responded, “Why not? Both our families send people to follow us, but they won’t interfere much. Just follow my lead, and we’ll be fine.”

Phil, amazed, inquired, “Your stepmother sends someone to follow you?”

Chu Muxi, indifferent, revealed the truth openly, “Yes, they follow me every day. My friend told me, but it doesn’t bother me. They won’t harm me.”

Phil, looking at him in disbelief, realized, “Your father doesn’t know about this?”

Chu Muxi, dismissing it, said, “What’s surprising? They won’t harm me; they’re just following.”

Phil, expressing awe, remarked, “You sure have a big heart.”
