Chapter 184
Since Chu Muxi had made a promise, he naturally had to keep his word.
In the past few days at the base, he spent most of his time in the mecha maintenance room.
He didn’t hide the video materials that Mr. Barlow had given him and shared them with everyone.
Gavin and the others treasured this information so much that they wished they could absorb it all instantly.
Lu Junzhi had also been very busy recently. Although Chu Muxi was occupied with his own affairs, he hadn’t forgotten to keep an eye on everything around him.
He noticed that more and more mechas were being sent in for repair, and Gavin and the team were conducting new experiments. The whole team seemed a little excited and eager, as if preparing for something big.
One day, Lu Junzhi suddenly came to find him.
Chu Muxi was in the middle of discussing something with Gavin when he saw Lu Junzhi approaching. He quickly put down the light screen in his hand, walked over, and asked in surprise, “Why are you here?”
Gavin and the others greeted Lu Junzhi one by one before returning to their work.
Chu Muxi was dressed in a light blue shirt, overalls, and a pair of boots, with sweat glistening on his forehead. He had been working hard over the past few days, and he appeared a bit more mature than before.
Lu Junzhi raised his hand, gently pushing away the damp hair stuck to Chu Muxi’s forehead, then wiped the sweat away with his thumb.
“Are you tired?” Lu Junzhi asked with concern.
Chu Muxi shook his head. “No, I’m not tired. I feel like there’s not enough time. Why did you come to see me? You’re not asking me to go back, are you?”
To be honest, these past few days in the mecha maintenance room had been the most fulfilling and happiest for him.
He was only just starting to get excited and felt like he could keep going for another hundred days without issue.
If Lu Junzhi asked him to go back now, Chu Muxi would be completely unwilling.
Lu Junzhi smiled. “You really don’t want to leave?”
“Of course! This place is so interesting—I wish I could stay here forever,” Chu Muxi said, suddenly feeling that returning to the Central Star seemed pointless.
However, his grandpa was still there, so it was impossible to leave him alone on the Central Star.
But when he thought about having to go back to school and continue his studies, he found it all quite dull.
Lu Junzhi smiled knowingly and tapped Chu Muxi on the forehead. “I didn’t come to urge you to leave. I have something to discuss with you.”
Chu Muxi was curious. “What is it?”
He was making steady progress and had gained some insights and new ideas.
If it wasn’t something important, he really didn’t want to leave.
Seeing his reluctance, Lu Junzhi chuckled softly. “What should I do? I think I’m a little jealous,” he admitted honestly.
Chu Muxi was stunned for a moment, then stammered in embarrassment, “You—what are you talking about? Why would you be jealous? I didn’t do anything.”
“Look at you. You stay here all day and only go back at night,” Lu Junzhi complained. “If this place didn’t close at night, would you just live here forever?”
Chu Muxi’s face turned red, feeling shy as if his thoughts had been exposed. “It’s not like that! You’ve been busy with work during the day, haven’t you?”
“Hmm?” Lu Junzhi raised an eyebrow.
Chu Muxi coughed twice to cover up his embarrassment. “Well, tonight when I go back, I’ll have a proper conversation with you, okay?”
“Just talk?” Lu Junzhi asked, his tone suggestive.
Chu Muxi nearly choked, quickly looking around to see if anyone was paying attention. No one was, so he urgently whispered, “Shut up! Don’t talk nonsense here!”
