Rebirth as a Time Dragon: A DND Chronicle

Chapter 25: Chapter 25: Thunderstorm

Whiz! With a whooshing sound, the black tentacles swiftly coiled towards Garon's head.

Their goal was clear—to burrow into Garon's head, making Garon, who was already wary of them, even more cautious about not being touched by the black tentacles.

He devoted nearly half of his attention to dealing with the sudden attacks of the black tentacles.

As time ticked away, due to the high intensity of the battle and constantly maintaining a triple-speed state, Garon's stored temporal power dwindled to less than fifty percent.

Once the temporal power he had absorbed from the river was exhausted, without sufficient replenishment, he would struggle to maintain his accelerated state.

Relying solely on the abilities of a young-stage white dragon, he was clearly no match for the dual-headed ogre.

Garon calculated silently, planning to retreat temporarily if he didn't achieve a decisive advantage after his temporal power dropped to about twenty percent.

It wasn't that he couldn't kill the dual-headed ogre; he simply preferred not to get injured.

If he had launched a relentless assault without regard for defense, the dual-headed ogre would have been torn to pieces by him long ago.

This creature was performing too strangely.

The black mist that formed the tentacles felt incredibly dangerous, and Garon had no desire to touch them at all.

But just seconds later, the dual-headed ogre's body seemed to be enduring immense pain due to some kind of strain. The smaller head's features were tightly furrowed, and its defensive posture stiffened.

Garon keenly seized the dual-headed ogre's moment of vulnerability.

With a fierce smile, his tail swept across like a steel whip, striking the ogre's legs and flipping its body onto the ground.

Before the dual-headed ogre could rise, Garon's limbs heavily pressed down, his claws pinning its arms, rendering it immobile.

Simultaneously, Garon opened his jaws wide, gathering a cold, icy-blue power within, aimed directly at the dual-headed ogre's larger head that had been preparing spells.

Boom! The frost breath burst forth like river water.

At the same time, the dual-headed ogre struggled violently, the force of its flailing cracking the ice and both plummeted into the icy lake beneath. The bone-chilling water revitalized Garon, but nearly froze the dual-headed ogre.

This struggle had put itself in even more peril.

In the icy lake, Garon's movements were unhindered and seemed even quicker. The icy-blue dragon breath penetrated the water, encasing the ogre's upper body in bone-chilling frost.

Had Garon not tightly grasped the dual-headed ogre, its body would have been swept away by the powerful surge of the dragon breath.

Exposed at close range to the full power of the frost breath, the dual-headed ogre could no longer resist. Its body, including the black tentacles on its back, quickly turned into lifelike ice crystals, with the ice continuing to thicken.

Garon could clearly see the dual-headed ogre was not yet dead. The black mist blood vessels on its surface writhed madly, and its black tentacles trembled, trying to shatter the ice as before and break free.

But just as a Saint never falls for the same trick twice, Garon continued relentlessly, exhausting all his frost power, leaving no opportunity for resistance.

The dual-headed ogre's life force declined rapidly, soon dissipating completely, signaling its death.

Looking at the now dead dual-headed ogre, Garon took a deep breath, feeling a cold dryness in his throat as if ice was lodged within— a side effect of using the frost breath for an extended period.

"I am still too young. If I were more mature, using the power to plunder the threads of time, I could have easily killed this creature."

Garon felt an urgent desire to grow stronger.

This world was truly perilous. What he thought was a mere ordinary dual-headed ogre had turned out to be capable of strange divine magic and powerful spells. His luck seemed particularly bad.

After a moment of contemplation, Garon carried the body of the dual-headed ogre, swimming up from the icy lake, breaking the surface to stand once again on the ice.

But as he emerged, the sight that met his eyes made Garon widen his eyes.

About five hundred meters above, a dark thundercloud, tens of meters in diameter and over a hundred meters across, had formed, unbeknownst to him. Within it, silver-white lightning crackled wildly, growing more imposing as it absorbed elemental energy from the surrounding air.

**Thunderstorm Spell**

"Did it complete the spell just before dying?"

"The spectacle is indeed shocking, but without control, it's no longer a threat."

As for the intelligence previously mentioned by Uga Skulbreaker, Garon no longer considered it, given that even Uga Skulbreaker itself hadn

't known the dual-headed ogre was so formidable.

This was indeed a cautious dual-headed ogre.

Garon rubbed his head, soothing his somewhat weary spirit while gazing at the imposing dark thundercloud in the sky.

The spell sealing the sky had ended. He shook his dragon wings and floated up three feet, but instead of leaving immediately, he took an interested watch of the lightning dancing within the cloud.

He wasn't directly beneath the dark thundercloud; perhaps the dual-headed ogre had been too rushed before its death, and the placement of the spell had drifted several hundred meters off.

Soon, the dark thundercloud had absorbed enough elemental energy, and rolling thunder sounds emerged.

It was like a drum being beaten next to one's ear, deafening, and the air also carried a scorched scent.

Boom! A thick bolt of lightning struck down, its brief flash turning night into day.

With the first lightning strike, the spell officially began, successive bolts carrying intense heat and numbing power relentlessly struck down, dispelling the surrounding darkness and turning the extreme night into extreme day. The clouds rumbled continuously, flashing incessantly.

Eight minutes later, the lightning feast finally concluded, and the thick dark thundercloud gradually dispersed.

Watching this display of simulated divine power, Garon's eyes sparkled with fascination, and a longing began to rise within him.

He possessed innate spell-like abilities and supernatural powers, but real spells remained an unknown and profound realm to Garon. As with his innate curiosity for ancient things, his heart harbored a natural desire to explore the unknown.
