Chapter 60:Defective Werewolf and Mark
Silence. Absolute silence lasted for more than a minute until…
"WHAT!!!" Pethra and Kasumi burst out in piercing screams.
Freya had to cover her ears. Scarlett and Luna opened their eyes in shock, and Raum didn't care at all; he was just enjoying the hot water.
"Marriage!!" Pethra pointed with a trembling finger at Freya. "W-What are you talking about?"
Freya tilted her head, confused by her question. "What do you mean? I just asked Aron to marry me."
"Why?" Kasumi asked as she immediately made her way to where Aron was sitting in the bath.
Freya turned her head to the side, avoiding the girls' gaze. She replied with a blush, "B-Because he took my first…"
"..."
Another, longer silence fell in the chamber, making it feel like an abandoned piece of oblivion.
"Kaaah?...should I expect a nephew in the near future?" Raum suddenly broke the silence. He had just heard the last part of the conversation, and his voice triggered the restarting of everyone's minds.
"ARON!!" Pethra and Kasumi shouted at him.
"Wow!!" Scarlett opened her mouth like a goldfish, unable to understand what happened between her former cellmate and her proposal. But then she widened her eyes as she thought of something.
'I-Imposible'
"Blup. Blup. Blup." Luna drowned half of her face underwater as she made bubbles, but her eyes remained fixed on Aron and the girls.
"Aron! Explain?" Pethra grabbed Aron's shoulder. To say that she was angry wasn't true; she was furious.
"How could you do this to me? I was planning to be your first!"
"Pethra-dono, your inner thoughts are slipping past your lips," Kasumi interjected.
"But, M-Master, explain what happened between you and Freya-dono."
"..."
Aron didn't respond, nor did he take any action from the moment Freya had proposed to him. He had just frozen.
"Master?" Kasumi called, but he didn't respond.
She and Pethra glanced at each other for a second before nodding, silently planning something.
Slap. Slap.
"W-What happened? Who dares to attack me?" Aron woke up shouting after Kasumi and Pethra slapped him in the face.
"Aron/Master," the two girls called him with a 'not so gentle' smile. "Explain what happened between you and Freya. Now!"
"Eh?..." Aron was confused and answered honestly, "Nothing happened."
"What!" Freya glanced at him in shock. "B-But, Boss, you took my first kiss."
"A kiss!" Pethra and Kasumi exchanged glances.
"Yes, what did you think happened between us?"
"!!!" Pethra and Kasumi instantly blushed. "W-We thought you did...Anyway, are you asking Aron to marry you because of a kiss?"
Pethra immediately changed the subject; her mind was no longer in innocent mode, and she was afraid that she might accidentally let some of it slip past her lips again.
Freya raised an eyebrow. "Isn't this how it usually works?"
"NOO!"
"..." Freya was struck by lightning. She couldn't possibly believe that.
"Pfftt"
"Grrr... Scarlett!" She immediately turned to Scarlett, who was struggling to hold back her laughter.
"You told me that if I gave my first kiss to a man, I should marry him."
"HAHAHA~... S-Sorry, that was a joke... You... You actually believed it, HAHAHA." Scarlett burst out laughing.
"Phew... It was just a kiss." Pethra and Kasumi sighed heavily.
"But, Pethra-dono, we need to prevent that from happening in the future."
"I know, Kasumi."
"What are you two planning?"
"!!!" The two girls visibly trembled upon hearing Aron's voice. They turned to face him with innocent expressions.
"N-Nothing."
Freya chose to deal with Scarlett's teasing later. 'She'll pay for making fun of me, but more importantly...'
Then she turned to Aron. She was still sitting in his lap, not caring about the fact that he could see her naked figure or the death stares from the two girls close to her.
"I'm serious, Boss. Will you allow me to mark you?"
"Mark?" Aron raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, as a werewolf, I can place my mark on you. That way, we can feel each other's locations no matter the distance." Freya explained, deliberately avoiding telling him that the mark is only exchanged between couples.
"Hmm?" Aron thought about it. Being able to sense each other's location would prove helpful in many situations. For example, he could send Freya with the girls, and if anything happened, he could find them because of the mark.
"How are you going to place this mark on me?" he asked.
"It's easy, Boss. I'll just bite you and drink a little of your blood."
"Hmm? Then go ahead. Being able to sense your location will be helpful." Aron decided to go along with it and receive Freya's mark.
Freya smiled, feeling happy that Aron agreed to receive her mark. But on the inside, she was screaming with joy. Why? From her point of view, Aron had agreed to be her partner—without realizing it, of course.
"But before that, tell me something, Boss." Freya turned serious all of a sudden, gazing at Aron in the eyes.
She asked, "Aron, you're not a human, are you?"
"..."
Aron narrowed his eyes. Raum snapped out of his relaxed state and glanced at Aron. Pethra widened her eyes and tried to speak, but Aron raised his hand, indicating that she should stop.
Scarlett immediately halted her playful laughter and focused on Aron, waiting for his response. Luna did the same.
Aron took a deep breath, looking directly into Freya's eyes.
"You're right, Freya," he admitted. "I'm not a human, but how did you find out?"
Freya smiled and tapped her nose gently. "It's your scent."
"Can you really determine someone's race just by their scent?" Aron was impressed. "You have a pretty good nose."
Freya chuckled slightly. "Hehehe~... Yes, I can. It's all because I..." She paused, hesitating to continue. "Sigh... I've never told this to anyone... Aron, I'm a defective Werewolf."
"Freya!" Scarlett exclaimed.
Freya turned to her with a warm smile. "It's fine, Scarlett. I trust everyone present here."
"I see." Scarlett nodded. It's not like she didn't trust Aron and the girls. On the contrary, Scarlett is 100% sure that Aron will never harm or betray her. It's just that Freya's situation is very sensitive, and if word spreads about it, her life will be in danger.
However, Scarlett realized that no matter what, Aron would not allow anything bad to happen to Freya.
'He's a good man,' she thought, flashing a small smile.
"What do you mean by 'defective,' Freya?" Aron asked with a serious tone. He didn't like that word.
Freya sensed the shift in the atmosphere and displayed a seductive smile when she realized that Aron was concerned about her condition.
"It's nothing serious. I just can't take the wolf form, and because of that, my senses are heightened. I can see, hear, smell, and feel better than an Elder werewolf. Due to this condition, I found out that I could discern someone's race just by their scent."
Freya turned to the girls. "Scarlett and Pethra are humans, although Pethra's scent is a little different."
"!!!" Pethra shivered slightly. Only Aron knew her secret, and she planned to keep it that way.
"Luna is obviously an Elf, and Kasumi is a fox or something similar."
"But you, Aron, I can't figure out your race, no matter how hard I try. At first, I thought you were a vampire because of your pale skin, but you can walk in the sun freely. And you're not a werewolf like me... Can you tell me what you are?"
Aron kept his gaze on Freya; he could sense that she was concerned about how others would perceive her due to being a defective werewolf. However, Aron didn't care about it at all. He wasn't the type of person who judged anyone based on something they couldn't control.
His expression softened, and he gently brought his hand to her face, starting to stroke Freya's cheek.
"You're not defective, Freya. Not anymore. From now on, you're MY werewolf."
"..." Freya's heart raced, and she found it hard to prevent tears from falling. She had yearned to hear those words her entire life, and now someone had said them.
"And I trust you girls, so I'm going to tell you… I'm a dragon."
Silence filled the chamber once again, but this time it was a different kind of silence. It held a mixture of awe, wonder, and reverence. The girls stood frozen, their eyes fixed on Aron, their minds struggling to comprehend what he had just revealed.
But this time, someone unexpected broke the silence.
"W-W-What! A Dragon!!" Luna jumped out of the water and landed close to Aron, creating a splash. She then grabbed his arm and started rocking it in excitement.
"Are you a dragon? Really? Tell... Tell me, how big are you? Can you fly and breathe fire? Do you hoard treasure?... Come on, tell me… tell me… tell me… tell me."
"..."
Everyone was shocked, to say the least. No one expected Luna to react like this, showing a new side of her.
Pfft, HAHAHAHA" Aron burst into uncontrollable laughter. Followed by everyone around.
"!!!" Luna immediately realized what she had done and tried to run away, but Aron gently grabbed her arm, pulled her close to him, and began stroking her blue hair.
"Yes, Luna, I am a dragon, and yes, I can breathe fire. But as for how big I am, I don't really know."
Luna, with a flushed face, asked, "And treasures?"
Aron smiled warmly. "You girls are my treasures."
"Ouch!!" All of them felt an arrow hit their hearts with his sweet words. Raum and Pethra let out deep sighs of relief.
Freya, Scarlett, Luna, and Kasumi reacted well to Aron being a dragon. Yes, they were shocked, but no one feared him or anything.
"When I recover my memory, Luna, I'll tell you how big I am. Deal?"
Luna nodded happily. "Deal."
"Memory? Boss?" Scarlett instantly captured this and asked.
"Yes, Scarlett. I lost my memories, and it's been less than a week since I woke up."
