Reawakening of the Nameless Dragon

Chapter 44: Crystal orbs and new members

In the kingdom of Avaloria, inside a mansion.

Stood a young man in a white Noble suit with light blue decoration on the edges. Next to him was a beautiful young lady in a green and gold dress.

Both of them were inside what looked like an office, and they were currently staring at a certain bookshelf. The young man waved his hand, and immediately all the books on the shelf disappeared and were replaced with crystal orbs.

The orbs were placed in a pyramid shape; all the orbs were glowing with green light, and they all had names on them except the one at the top, which glowed in red. The young man approached the red crystal.

"So it's true, after all those years," he spoke in disbelief as he read the name on the red crystal over and over again

Adara Windcrest.

What is so special about these orbs is that they can detect someone's life. Most Nobles and of course, Royal Families use those orbs. They come in many shapes and designs, like rings, amulets, and crystal orbs.

The way they function is simple: you bind yourself to one Orb by blood, and the orb will detect your life no matter the distance. If you're alive, the orb will glow green, and when you die, it will glow red.

"So that old hag has finally died?" the woman asked as she approached the orb.

The man nodded. "Indeed, sister. The orb doesn't lie. The head of The Windcrest Family finally died."

"B-But how, brother?" She still didn't believe it.

"It doesn't matter how, sister. What matters is that she's out of the picture for good this time. Now we can take back what is rightfully ours."

The young lady crossed her arms. "Of course, brother. I didn't forget that. It's just..." she paused, "... it's hard to believe that she suddenly died like that. If not for the orb, we wouldn't know."

"Huh?... Of course, sister. This is the purpose of these orbs."

"..." A vein popped in the woman's head. 'I forget sometimes you are stupid.'

"What I mean is, that woman is always cautious. Even my spies couldn't track her, and now out of nowhere she just dies?"

"Ooooh!" The young man opened his eyes, then asked his sister, "What was her last location?"

"Hmm?!... Last time I remember, she was spotted heading toward Larton."

"Ahh! I see... she went to get new 'toys,' like always."

The young lady's face turned ugly at the word 'Toy.'

"Now that I think about it, she always had a good relationship with that famous Dealer, but that doesn't explain how she died, brother."

The man glanced at his sister in confusion. "It's quite obvious. She probably pissed someone off when she tried to get a new Toy."

His sister snorted at his words. "That's absurd, brother. No one has the courage to kill a noble."

"Maybe, but you and I know Adara's personality."

The young lady paused for a second before she voiced her thoughts. "Probably she pissed off some woman by messing with her lover or husband."

"Why a woman?"

"Women are very jealous, brother."

'That doesn't explain anything,' the young man screamed in his head.

Then his sister added, "Woman or not, someone has the courage to kill the head of one of the most powerful Noble families in Avaloria..."

"... Brother, we need to find this person right away if we want to proceed with our plans in controlling this damn family."

The brother nodded. "Of course, I will send the spies at once."

….

In the northern outskirts of Larton town, in a dark alley.

A man with five women beside him and a raven on his shoulder was looking at a certain spot on the wall.

"This is the spot, girls," the man spoke as he compared the location between his map and the spot on the wall. Then he gave the map to the young girl with blond hair next to him.

The blond girl pointed her staff at the wall as she read the incantation written on the map. Immediately after that, some runes appeared on the wall. The runes began moving around the wall until they formed a circle. After the circle was complete, the wall disappeared like an illusion, revealing a hidden entrance.

The man approached the blond girl from behind and patted her head. "Well done, my little witch," he praised her.

"These things are easy for me, Aron." Despite her words, Pertha was extremely happy with Aron's words, and his touch was even better.

"By the way, you look good," he commented.

"!!!" Pertha instantly blushed as she lowered her head as if she had found something interesting on the ground.

She was wearing a white shirt and black pants, leather sandals for easy movement, and some sort of black mage coat with golden leaves on the edges.

"In fact..." Aron turned to the rest of his group.

"...You all look good. I'm starting to feel lucky to have you all beside me."

"!!!" All the women's hearts took a serious hit from his words as they all turned red and tried to avoid eye contact with Aron.

"T-Thanks, Master." Kasumi was the first to speak. She was wearing full dark leather armor, with her Katana on her back and two daggers on her belt. She was also covering the lower half of her face with a piece of cloth like a mask, and her long black hair was tied in a ponytail, making it easy to fight with.

"HAHAHA~" With a loud laugh, one of the newest members of the group spoke.

"...The Boss is truly an interesting person."

Freya is a tall woman around 185cm, a little shorter than Aron, with long, thick silver hair and blue eyes.

Currently, she's wearing only a tight leather chest piece that doesn't do a good job of hiding her enormous two mountains. Her extremely well-defined muscles, perfectly six-pack abs, and tanned skin gave her the aura of a wild huntress, which is understandable since she's a werewolf.

After shopping, Aron spent the rest of the day chatting with every woman in the Warehouse and getting to know them—their abilities, personalities, strengths, and weaknesses.

So it came as no surprise when he found out that the five women who were locked in the cells were the ones who could actually fight. Vincent considers them 'Dangerous,' and the most dangerous of the five is Freya.

Slap!.

"Be quiet, dog! Are you trying to alert everyone to our presence?"

Freya almost jumped at the one who hit her on the head. "Scarlett, I told you many times, stop hitting me on the head! And don't call me a dog."

Scarlett, a former human adventurer, had red eyes and shoulder-length red hair with shades of gold. Her hair looked like a blazing fire. She was the same height as Freya, with less defined muscles than the werewolf.

She was wearing the same leather armor as Kasumi, with a bow on her back and a short sword and a dagger on her belt.

"Sorry, boss. I tried many times to cure this wet dog from her stupidity, but so far I was unlucky."

"Oyy!"

Scarlett ignored the furious werewolf completely.

"...And thank you for your compliment. It means a lot to me," she said, flashing a small, gentle smile at Aron.

"..." Pertha and Kasumi rolled their eyes. They could see from a mile away the intention of the redhead woman.

"Ahem... me too, Boss...Thank you," Freya said, her cheeks slightly red.

Aron chuckled at the interaction between the werewolf and the former adventurer. Despite their words and different backgrounds, Aron could see that they had a good relationship, which is somehow understandable when you share the same cell with someone. The two of them formed a bond from suffering.

"Enough, ladies," Aron spoke, drawing everyone's attention. "We have a task at hand."

Everyone nodded at his words except one. The last member of the group was currently peeking at Aron from behind Kasumi.

"!!!" Sensing his gaze, the young girl rapidly hid herself behind Kasumi.

"Stop hiding, Luna. No one is going to hurt you," Kasumi said as she turned to face the little elf.

Luna is an Elf mage with long, smooth blue hair and blue eyes the color of the ocean, which surprisingly matches her magic, water.

"I see you don't like me that much," Aron said as he displayed a sad face for some reason.

"!!!" Luna immediately peeked out from behind Kasumi. She shook her head rapidly, denying Aron's words.

"N-No, it's not like tha-" and she bit her tongue.

'She bit her tongue!' Everyone spoke in their heads.

Luna's face instantly turned red, and she buried her head in Kasumi's breasts.

'Cute!' All the women took critical damage from her cuteness.

Aron couldn't help but laugh at Luna's adorable reaction, and the rest joined in. Kasumi gently patted Luna's back, offering her comfort.

"Don't worry, Luna. Master was just teasing you," Kasumi said softly.

Luna timidly looked up from her hiding spot, her cheeks still flushed. She managed to give a shy smile before burying her face in Kasumi's breasts again.

"Now, girls, let's go..." Aron spoke as he prepared himself to enter the underground entrance. "We have a faction to destroy."

New members in Aron's group, I hope you like their characters in later chapters
