Chapter 14: Chapter 14 : Voyage to Cocoyashi Village

The ship, now known as the Black Pearl, cut through the blue waters of the Grand Line with an elegance and speed unmatched by any vessel.

The sea around it shimmered in the sunlight, waves gently slamming against the hull as if bowing to its presence.

The horizon stretched infinitely, painted in hues of blue and gold, with the occasional silhouette of a sea king breaching in the distance, giving the ocean its signature untamed beauty.

Alex stood at the bow, arms crossed, the wind ruffling his hair. He took a deep breath, letting the salty breeze fill his lungs.

"There's something about the Grand Line," he said, his voice thoughtful. "It feels alive like it's challenging anyone brave enough to venture across it.

Hancock stood beside him, her long black hair flowing in the breeze.

"It's wild and unpredictable. A true reflection of strength. Yet even it seems tamed under the will of this ship you've created."

The Black Pearl steered itself with an uncanny intelligence, its sails adjusting without need for command, as though it anticipated every shift in the wind and current.

The glow of its obsidian-like hull reflected faintly in the water, a warning to any who dared cross its path.

For hours, they sailed peacefully, the vastness of the Grand Line offering a rare moment of calm

As they sailed onward, the serenity of the sea was broken by the distant sound of shouting and the faint boom of a cannon.

Hancock's sharp eyes caught movement on the horizon. "A ship," she said, her voice steady but cold.

Alex turned his gaze to the horizon, spotting a smaller ship barreling toward them.

Its tattered sails bore the insignia of a generic pirate crew, and its crew was a ragtag bunch of grizzled men.

The approaching ship's captain, a burly man with an eyepatch and a bounty poster fluttering from the mast showing his 7-million-Berry reward, pointed at the Black Pearl.

"Look at that beauty!" he roared. "Take it, boys! Imagine the loot they're carrying!"

Alex chuckled, leaning lazily against the railing. "Hancock, I think they've made a terrible mistake."

Hancock's lips curved into a cold smile, her beauty as lethal as her strength. "Fools who dare attack us deserve no mercy."

Hancock crossed her arms, her gaze icy. "Do you want me to handle them?"

"No need," Alex replied, his tone casual. "Let's see how the Black Pearl deals with pests."

The Black Pearl seemed to react to the threat, its sails glowing faintly as a low hum resonated through the air.

The other ship fired a warning shot, the cannonball arcing through the sky toward them.

Alex didn't even flinch. The moment the cannonball neared the Black Pearl, it disintegrated into harmless sparks, the ship's protective aura obliterating it before it could come close.

The pirate crew hesitated, murmuring amongst themselves in confusion and fear. "What the hell just happened?!" one shouted.

Before they could regroup, Alex raised a hand. The Black Pearl seemed to understand his command.

With a groan that sounded almost like a roar, the ship retaliated.

Cannons emerged seamlessly from the hull, their barrels glowing with a fierce, otherworldly energy.

The enemy captain hesitated, his earlier bravado replaced by unease. "What kind of ship is this?"

Before he could get an answer, the Black Pearl fired, but instead of traditional cannonballs, bolts of crackling light shot out, tearing through the enemy ship with precision.

The impact was catastrophic wood splintered, sails shredded, and the mast collapsed with a deafening crash.

The pirates screamed, abandoning ship as it began to sink beneath the waves.

Only a few survived such a catastrophic attack.

The captain one of the lucky ones clung to the railing, his face pale with fear. "This… this isn't natural!"

The captain, now drenched and clinging to a piece of driftwood, looked up at Alex in terror. "Who... who are you?"

Alex smirked, his voice carrying easily over the distance. "Someone you should've thought twice about attacking."

Without another word, the Black Pearl surged forward, leaving the wreckage and its survivors behind.

Hancock turned to Alex, admiration gleaming in her eyes. "Your ship is unstoppable. It's no wonder fools like them fall so easily."

Alex shrugged. "It's not just the ship, Hancock. It's the intent behind it. This is only a glimpse of what we're capable of."

The rest of their journey through the Grand Line was uneventful, the occasional sea king giving the Black Pearl a wide berth, as if sensing its invincibility.

The journey continued, the Grand Line gradually giving way to the calmer waters of the East Blue.

The contrast was stark—the wild, unpredictable currents of the Grand Line were replaced by a gentler, more subdued ocean.

Hancock looked around, her expression softening. "The East Blue… it's so different from the Grand Line. Peaceful but fragile."

"It is," Alex said, his voice quieter now. "The East Blue is different. Simpler. But that doesn't mean it's without its challenges."

As the sun dipped lower on the horizon, the familiar outline of Cocoyashi Village came into view.

The village was small and unassuming, nestled along the shoreline with rows of modest houses and a harbor filled with fishing boats

The Black Pearl slowed as it approached the harbor, drawing the attention of the villagers.

People gathered at the docks, whispering and pointing at the magnificent ship.

Their expressions were a mix of awe and apprehension, the vessel's dark, almost menacing aura making it clear this was no ordinary visit

Alex stepped forward, his eyes scanning the village. "Cocoyashi Village , Our first stop."

Hancock joined him, her gaze falling on the tangerine grove in the distance. "So, this is where your first recruit lives?"

The ship docked itself with effortless precision, as if bowing to the will of its creator.

As Alex and Hancock descended, the villagers stepped back, murmuring amongst themselves

.

"Who are they?" one man whispered.

"Look at that ship… they must be pirates," another said, his voice trembling.

Alex ignored the whispers, his focus on the path ahead. The tangerine grove awaited, and with it, the next step in his grand plan.

"Let's go," he said, his voice filled with determination. "It's time to meet Nojiko."
