I had died.

Vendor: Hey brat what do you want?

Koji: I'm sorry. I have to go.

I walked away.

Koji- I need to stay away from Satella. I can find someone else to help me find my bearings.

[Horikita: Why don't you care about anyone more than yourself? Why are you like this?]

Koji- Because I will survive no matter what.

I walked away leaving Satella to die.

3 Years Later

I sat down in my chair enjoying the delicacy of Lugunica when I heard a knock on the door. I set my dish to the side and went to the door of my mansion opening it to find Julius. His face was still slightly torn. I had heard he was friends with Satella. Well her real name was Emilia. Her death had lingered in his mind even after 3 years. Had he known that I abandoned her he would surely despise me.

Julius: Ayanokoji-Sama.

Julius bowed to me and one Anastasia Hoshin walked up to me.

Anastasia: So Ayanokoji. Any more interesting Inventions?

Koji: You know the deal. make the previous one lucrative and then I'll give you the next one.

Anastasia: Yes yes of course.

Anastasia licked her lips.

Anastasia: Your ideas are so lucrative though. I girl can't help but want more.

Koji: Be patient or I'll tear up out contract and pull all of my products out of your markets and sell to someone else. After all I already have enough wealth to live lavishly and you've achieved your desire to have your own kingdom.

Anastasia: Yes yes. I understand who has the leverage in this relationship.

Koji: Then make the magical wind catcher lucrative.

Anastasia: Fine.

Julius: I understand you are an important benefactor but you should mind the way you speak to the King of Lugunica. it's a matter of respect.

Koji: Respect is earned both ways and so is disrespect. Julius gritted his teeth.

Anastasia: Come on Julius. No need to get angry. I'm quite happy with what the three of us have accomplished.

Koji: Then if you wish to maintain an amicable relationship then abide by the terms of the contract.

3 years ago I had met this woman and she had become the perfect tool to my life of comfort.

Anastasia Hoshin walked out of a building a saw a vendor selling boxes that could create fire.

Julius- Lady Emilia died. Killed by the Bowel Hunter.

Julius gritted his teeth.

Julius- Did I make a mistake swearing my sword to Lady Anastasia? If I had been there could I have prevented her death?

Anastasia: Hello good sir. Can I ask from where you obtained that product?

Vendor: I can't tell you. He likes to keep secretive but I can tell him that you're interested.

Anastasia: Thank you very much.

After a while Koji walked to the Vendor who gave him a huge sac of gold.

Vendor: Your product is everywhere at this point. You'll have to move locations eventually.

Koji: I'll leave you with some product in case there are more buyers.

Vendor: Sure. I love to hear it but there was this girl asking about your product.

Describe her.

Vendor: It was Anastasia-Sama. One of the Two Royal Candidates.

Koji- Ever since a few months ago the former royal candidate Crusch has been forgotten by everyone in the city. Likely the world and yet I am the only one immune to this mass memory erasure. Pricilla Barielle seems to be in the lead for the throne currently.

Koji: Alright. I'll be staying in the capital for a few more weeks inform her that I'll meet with her at this location.

Vendor: Alright.

The Next Day

Koji met with Anastasia.

Julius: I am Julius Juukulius. I am the knight and attendant to one Lady Anastasia Hoshin.

Anastasia: So you're the one who came up with this product.

Koji: I am.

Anastasia: I'd like to buy your product in bulk. I'll be selling them all across the continent.

Koji: Is that so?

Anastasia: Yes.

Koji: Very well.

I presented a contract to her.

Anastasia licked her lips.

Anastasia: You're quite well prepared.

Koji: You seem quite happy to see that I am.

Anastasia: Of course. I mean I am a greedy girl.

Present

Over the years I had given her dozens of inventions to sell. Her reputation increased and so did her resources and popularity. Eventually, not even Priscilla with her sheer determination for the throne could compete. This led to Anastasia becoming the King of Lugunica.

Anastasia returned.

Anastatsia: it's quite lucrative now.

Koji: Good.

I gave her another Blueprint. This one contained the blueprints for a wind turbine.

Anastasia: How cunning. Making me do all the work so that people will flock to buy these and produce you more income. I like your mindset.

Julius: You...

Julius looked at me incredulously.

Koji: If that is all. I would like some peace and quiet.

Anastasia: Of course. Let's go, Julius. 

The two left.

Koji- She's an annoying yet necessary tool.

I sat down in my seat. Even though I was living lavishly and had several women under my house I didn't feel satisfied. I had not grown at all from my time in the world I was born from. I was the same. Stagnant. I pondered to myself.

Koji- If I had gone to the Loot House could I have saved Emilia without dying? Would I be more satisfied with my life? Or would it have ended up the same as it did with Horikita?

I contemplated this thought for the rest of the day.

Koji- Was this the life I was meant to live coming to this world? I have everything a normal person does. So why? Why am I not satisfied?
