Raising magical girls, and leave them with eternal regret?!

Chapter 30 - Let her calm down

“…A plan to get stronger?”

Upon hearing YouYu’s words, Bai Yu fell silent for a moment before responding with a hint of frustration:

“You’re not a magical girl and have no understanding of our situation. How can you propose a plan for us to get stronger when you don’t even comprehend our power? On what basis are you making this plan?”

It was no surprise that Bai Yu’s tone was so sharp. After all, YouYu’s talking about helping them become stronger and whatnot… In her opinion, it was complete nonsense—almost absurd.

How could an ordinary human, so fundamentally different from magical girls in both physical and mental aspects, possibly have a way to help them become stronger?

“Hmm, let me explain.”

YouYu knew that his words weren’t persuasive, but his goal wasn’t to convince Bai Yu right away; it was to lay the groundwork for future discussions.

“The plan to help you get stronger… is based on what WuYue told me and what you’ve mentioned.”

“And that is…”

“Enhancing oneself through one’s own desires(wish). The greater the desire, the stronger the power.”

“I’ve already tested this with WuYue before.”

“…Huh? Why don’t I know this? YouYu. When did you test it on me? I don’t remember that happening at all.”

“Well… it’s actually been an ongoing experiment, but you weren’t aware of it.”

“Is that so?”

WuYue scratched her head in confusion, looking as if she still didn’t fully understand.

But her confusion… might actually be a good thing. If she were to truly confront her inner “desires” and emotions one day, that would really be fatal.

“…”

Shifting his attention back to Bai Yu, YouYu continued,

“So, this is the plan I propose to help you girls get stronger: engage in activities related to your desires.”

“From what I’ve observed… when magical girls do things tied to their desires, their emotional fluctuations generally increase, and their power grows stronger as well.”

“…I’ve been meaning to ask this: how can you tell that their power actually increases?”

Bai Yu furrowed her brows and inquired. While it was true that their power did increase, how YouYu could definitively conclude this was unclear.

To which YouYu replied,

“It’s simple. Just let WuYue transform and hit something. From the level of destruction she can cause, you can easily see whether her power has increased.”

“I reached this conclusion because I’ve seen it before.”

“Oh, right! YouYu have seen it! I remember… it was the day after I transformed into a magical girl! I was testing my abilities at the time…”

“…”

Well, if even WuYue personally confirmed it, Bai Yu had nothing more to say.

So, with no further arguments, Bai Yu fell silent once again.

Seeing Bai Yu’s reaction, YouYu continued:

“In any case, this is the plan I’m proposing…”

“And for activities related to your desires, which don’t require direct combat, I can offer my assistance to help you two complete them more perfectly.”

“So, personally, I believe this plan is feasible… Of course, whether or not you choose to accept it is entirely up to you.”

“Yes, yes! No problem at all!”

As soon as YouYu finished speaking, WuYue eagerly raised her hand in agreement.

“Alright, WuYue agrees.”

Hearing WuYue’s response, YouYu nodded. This outcome wasn’t surprising; as long as his proposal wasn’t too far-fetched, WuYue was likely to agree.

Now… there was Bai Yu left.

It was time to see what she thought.

“…”

After thinking for a moment, Bai Yu slowly spoke up:

“Actually, instead of this, we could use a simpler method to enhance ourselves.”

“How so?”

“By practicing combat, if WuYue and I coordinate our strategies, tactics, and techniques, our chances of winning against certain enemies will improve.”

“Hmm… I see. But this doesn’t conflict with ‘doing things related to your desires,’ does it? As long as we manage our time well, we can accomplish both in a single day.”

After thinking for a moment, YouYu responded.

“Although adjusting the schedule might be challenging, I’ll do my best to assist you, whether it’s finding a venue or covering other expenses. My work’s daily earnings are still sufficient.”

“Yeah, yeah! Bai Yu, come on, say yes! If you do, maybe—”

“We can’t force her, okay, WuYue? Let’s wait quietly for her answer.”

“Okay…”

Calming the rowdy WuYue, YouYu turned his attention back to Bai Yu on the opposite sofa, waiting for her response.

He had already anticipated two possible outcomes and had solutions ready for either refusal or agreement.

So now… let’s see what Bai Yu’s answer is.

“…”

“‘Doing things related to your desires’, I don’t need it .”

After some thought, Bai Yu responded.

“However… I’m open to combat training.”

“What do you think, YouYu?”

“…”

“Ultimately, it’s your decision. My opinion doesn’t matter much.”

“Still, may I ask why you’re opposed to the other suggestion?”

“…”

“No reason.”

When asked, Bai Yu’s impatience was evident.

Seeing her reaction, YouYu guessed that her “heart’s wall” was likely connected to her desires.

Then…this seemed like a good place to stop.

“…Alright, I won’t ask any more questions.”

“Nothing else for now.”

“Then I’ll be going.”

With that, Bai Yu quickly picked up her things, opened the door, and left.

“Eh, eh?”

WuYue, puzzled by the sudden departure, wanted to go after her, but YouYu stopped her.

“Let’s give her time to calm down.”
