Chapter 4- Chunin Exam

6 months have passed since the bandit mission, and the chunin exams are upon us. With the chunin exam approaching we have been off missions for a while and been training relentlessly and sparing more. The exam is in Konoha luckily. The first exam will be a written test, the second will be a survival exercise, and the third will be 1v1 until the end. 

I start to try and come up with my own jutsu but it's quite hard. I already can perform the Rasengan with my chakra control being really high, but I haven't tried to add Earth Release into it. Couldn't really rely on it anyways with it being a jutsu that only few people know. I've also been trying to mold metal with Earth Flow. I've made little progress there only enough for a small senbon. 

Thinking of a great idea I shoot up and go near a tree that has been cut down leaving only a trunk. Making a dome around it, I then try to have weapons shoot from the walls of the dome and hit the trunk. Hearing *thunks* inside of the dome I open it back up only to see small marks on the tree. With initial success I make the weapons harder and sharper. Trying again I hear more of a *schlink* sound. I open the dome and see the tree riddled with holes from the weapons. With greater success I spend my time trying to speed up the time for the dome to appear and the weapons to fire. 

Days later the chunin exams start and my team ace the written test. The second test is survival in the Forest of Death. We are to spend 7 days in there and collect the scroll we don't have while heading to the center where a tower is. We had to sign a waiver in case we died, and after we were given the Heaven scroll, so we had to collect the Earth scroll. With everyone ready they set off an alarm for us to go in. The first day wasn't bad, we had to hunt our food and find water but we haven't come across anyone. Same with the second day, but with the third day we found our first group. 

They were getting water at a river and we came from behind. My team crouched in the brush and came up with a plan. 

"Alright, they seem unaware that we are here. We will pincer them against the river. Ryohei, you send a shadow clone alone while Tomomi and I get into our positions. Anything to add?" Takashi says after looking at the other team. 

"I could use my Fire Release and hit the river to create a smoke screen for us after the shadow clone gets close enough and draws attention away from my side." Tomomi said after staying silent and observing where her position would be. 

"Anything from you Ryohei?" Takashi asks. 

"No, it sounds like a good plan, but I could use my Earth Release to block any exits we may have." I say because we have no idea how fast they are or could be. Better be safe then sorry. 

"Sounds good. When your shadow clone is close enough Tomomi will send a Fire Release jutsu to the river while you create walls around the area and have your shadow clone engage in combat with me." 

With the plan settled I create a shadow clone and send it to the group while Tomomi and Takashi get into position. 

"Hey! What scroll do you guys have." My clone shouts at them while getting closer to them. 

The group jump a little startled, not good considering they are taking the chunin exam, and get into a combat ready formation. After they see its only my clone, not realizing how close my clone is getting, they relax a little with one of them getting angry and screaming at my clone. 

"You little bastard. Who told you to scream at us and sca-" Before he could finish a boom is heard and the place is covered in mist from Tomomi. 

With that, the clone starts to fight the guy who was mad while his other two teammates back up a little looking for an escape. One is intercepted by Takashi and the other is hit by a fire bullet while looking for a way out. After everything is settled, we search their things and find both scrolls, one Earth and one Heaven. 

We take both and head for the tower in the center only encountering one other team who left us alone. After a couple more days the second exam was done and the third would start in a week after they have the arena set up. 

A week later we arrived at the arena where the tournament will be held. There are only 8 people left. With 8 people there will only be 3 total rounds. We draw straw and I fight second. The first was Tomomi and she won with her Fire Release. You would think she is an Uchiha if you didn't know her last name. The second fight was mine, I congratulated Tomomi and went down to fight. 

My opponent was a broad man, spikey green hair and face with markings. With the beginning sound he dashed at me and used [Earth Release: Earth Wave] to disrupt my footing and the threw a right hook. Not giving the jutsu a chance I harden the ground around me and dodge his hand. His eyes open wide at the display of me negating his attack and dodging. He jumps back after my dodge and before he could do anything I encase him in my new jutsu [Earth Release: Disaster Dome]. Seeing me use a jutsu with no hand signs and how fast it appeared the crowd is quite with only the sound of flesh being cut and stabbed. The ref called the match in my win and asked me to stop the jutsu. 

Stopping the jutsu you can see the big guy slump over and hit the dirt not moving. Medic-nin rush to him and breathe a sigh of relief that he isn't dead. With the match over I go to where my team is sitting and wait for the third match to start.

Maybe help with a name for the earth jutsu. I couldn't come up with anything better.

How'd you like it? I tried with the fight but it didn't make sense to drag his fight out.
