Pupet Master in Konoha

Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Sharp Tools First

Once Hideki finished speaking, the entire workshop exploded with excitement.

The young ninjas couldn't sit still and rushed to get a closer look at the Buddha statue. Since this wasn't a formal class, Hideki didn't stop them. Instead, he kindly handed out magnifying glasses.

The little ninjas' perceptions were shaken further. What looked good from a distance now appeared even more intricate up close. The Buddha statue was so detailed it bordered on the absurd. Many parts were almost invisible without a careful examination, but every single detail had been crafted by Hideki's hand.

And to think, this piece of art had been completed in just a dozen seconds by their teacher!

"Master, how did you do it?" some students couldn't help but ask.

Hideki modestly replied, "Actually, the Buddha statue was already inside the block of wood. I simply removed the unnecessary parts."

This enigmatic answer left the young ninjas gasping in awe. At the same time, some students began to feel a bit embarrassed. They had initially guessed that Hideki invited them to his workshop with the intention of teaching them how to join it, but seeing this mini Buddha statue, all their thoughts vanished instantly...

Just like the name of the technique, "Chakra Workshop," Hideki himself was a walking workshop. How could they dare to ask him to teach them for their own benefit?

They realized that the reason Hideki had established this workshop wasn't to get free labor, but to teach them these magical techniques. It was another act of selflessness from a teacher who always had their best interests at heart.

And so, it wasn't that Hideki begged them to come work for him; rather, they were the ones begging him to keep the workshop open and give them a chance to learn this magical ninjutsu.

After all, even without the miraculous final form of the technique, just the series of chakra tools he had shown so far was enough to make them desperate to join the workshop. Learning this ninjutsu would not only allow them to make crafts but also help them in combat situations.

For those who had few ninjutsu and low adaptability, this technique was truly a timely gift. If they learned it, they could benefit both in their daily lives and as ninjas.

Seeing their enthusiasm, Hideki's mind eased. He knew that teaching them these techniques, especially after seeing their eagerness to learn, would eventually pay off.

However, Hideki also knew that creating this detailed mini Buddha statue hadn't been as easy as everyone might have imagined. It not only consumed a lot of chakra, but Hideki had secretly used the Shadow Clone technique to help him, with the clone aiding in brainstorming ideas behind the podium to create the perfect statue quickly.

This was not merely a show for the students. It was a way to solidify their commitment to learning and joining the workshop. Seeing their excitement made all the effort worth it.

Now that the students were eager to join the workshop, Hideki decided to teach them step by step, starting with the basic chakra carving knife.

He placed the Buddha statue on the table, clapped his hands, and said, "Alright, you've seen it all. Please return to your seats. Due to time constraints, today we will first learn how to make the basic chakra carving knife. As for the other tools, we will continue once everyone has fully mastered the carving knife technique."

All the young ninjas eagerly agreed, excited to learn this novel and useful ninjutsu. However, none of them realized the underlying problem.

They hadn't set a fixed schedule for the lessons. If they didn't want to miss the teachings, they would have to come to the workshop whenever they had time…

Next, Hideki began explaining how to use chakra to form the most basic carving blade. Unlike other teachers whose methods were more abstract or based on sudden inspiration, Hideki's teaching style was incredibly detailed and specific.

He drew a large hand on the chalkboard and marked the chakra points along the palm. At the same time, he explained precisely how much chakra should be released from each acupoint and which parts of the blade should be formed by these chakras. It was purely a matter of skill.

Of course, simply having hands wasn't enough. Hideki's method reduced the trial-and-error process, allowing his students to learn much faster. However, it also required them to have a solid degree of chakra control.

This is why Hideki's workshop was invitation-only, only allowing students with chakra control above five points.

For those with five or six points, even with detailed guidance, learning the technique was still quite challenging. After all, the technique was derived from the Chakra Scalpel, and no matter how simplified it was, the difficulty was still at least a Chunin level.

Even though many S-rank and A-rank ninjutsu techniques were lost in the world of Naruto, C-level techniques were still the real mainstream, and could be a game-changer in battle. For young ninjas who hadn't even graduated to Genin yet, this technique was far beyond their limits.

Nevertheless, Hideki had already considered this. He knew the best way to help them overcome it.

So Hideki stepped down from the podium and began teaching the students, guiding them through the technique step by step.

"By hand" here wasn't a metaphor, but a literal description. Hideki actually took each student's hand one by one and showed them exactly how to form the technique.

During this process, Hideki also used his chakra sensing technique. Countless thin strands of chakra wrapped around the young ninja's palm, gathering data in real-time, like the most advanced monitoring device.

This allowed Hideki to track the progress of each student and provide real-time corrections: "Shiranui-san, the chakra you're releasing from your Chakra points is too small. They're responsible for forming the central part of the blade, so your sword hasn't taken shape…"

"Nohara-san, you and Genma are doing the opposite. The blade has formed, but because too much chakra is released from the middle, it's become a dull blade…"

"Yuhi-san, what didn't you understand again? Wait, didn't I just teach you this? Why can't you get it right..."

For hours, Hideki taught step by step.

And the young ninjas experienced firsthand what it was like to have a teacher who could help them cheat. With Hideki's guidance, even those still struggling with the technique were able to master the chakra carving knife technique, a skill that should have been Chunin-level, at an astonishing speed.

Except for Kurenai Yuhi, who often forgot the technique and required step-by-step guidance, most of the students had progressed to the next stage and were already testing their newly made carving knives on blocks of wood.

At that moment, they finally understood what it meant to be a skilled craftsman.

The chakra carving knives they had made felt like an extension of their body, and they could use them with ease.

Some talented students were already carving the wood very well and even started challenging themselves to replicate the toys they had previously selected.

Seeing this, Hideki nodded in satisfaction.

Although it was just a first hesitant step, the toy workshop was finally starting to take shape.

Even if the efficiency was a bit unsatisfactory, Hideki didn't mind. After all, the production of simple toys like these could be easily done with machines and assembly lines.

The real reason for having them create toys was simply to provide motivation for practice. Once they learned to use chakra for basic rune drawing, that would be when they would truly become valuable ninjas.
