Protagonist! Please Stay Away from Me!

Chapter 2: Reincarnated as Sharon Charatshore

A woman was thrashing in her bed as if, she was experiencing a nightmare. She had silver hair and was wearing a simple sleeping gown. Suddenly, she opened her eyes. Her eyes were red in colour. Clutching her neck, she was coughing heavily. It was the protagonist of this novel, Alex, who was now in the body of Sharon Charatshore.

"I died... Sharon killed me. But how am I alive?" whispered Alex. Suddenly, he now, she noticed that her voice was similar to that of a woman.

'A woman's voice?'

She touched her chest to find two soft mounds resting as if, they own the whole word? Terrified by her thoughts, she touched her nether regions to find there was nothing. Her little brother was absent.

'Impossible!'

She moved her eyes across the room and found a mirror. Practically jumping from her bed, she rushed towards the mirror. Upon looking in the mirror, she saw her killer... Sharon Charatshore to be looking back at her. Alex understood Sharon's words. The words that she told her before she died.

'She meant that I would be the new her. I...'

Alex was at loss for words. She still couldn't comprehend her situation but, she had somehow stabilised her feelings. Being worried wouldn't do anything. It would only make her situation worse.

[You are right, Host. It seems you have a brain in you.]

'What?' Did someone talk to her? Alex's eyes widened in surprise. At that moment, she realised that the thing that said those words was a system.

'You are system, aren't you?' Within a second, the same mechanical voice, which Alex deduced as a system, was heard by her again.

[Yes... I am not surprised that you recognized me so soon. You are or, were an author before your death.]

Death. Yeah, she was brutally killed by Sharon. But why?

[Resentment, Host. She held a considerate amount of hatred towards you.]

'But why? I didn't do anything.'

[It's very simple. You are the author of this world, aren't you?]

'Yes.'

[You made her, 'a cream bun.' I don't think I need to explain that term, right? The novel that you wrote had manifested by itself, with her as the villainess. Although, in future she did became the protagonist's harem member.]

Alex was shocked to hear those words. According to the system, the world novel she wrote has manifested itself as a real world. If that was true, it could explain Sharon's actions.

'She awakened herself and when she found that I was responsible for her suffering... she used all her power to get her revenge.'

[Correct. Sharon wasn't satisfied with just killing you. She used of all her strength to send you to her body. She wanted you to feel her helplessness, and her humiliation.]

It was true that Alex was the author but, she didn't create a world just by her own.

'How did this world manifest by itself?'

[Your readers, the perverted readers. Your novel fuelled their hidden desires in a very twisted way. They wanted... no, they believed that the world you created was real. They craved for that world. And due to some weird fate, their wishes created a whole new world altogether.]

Alex sighed at its words. Of course, her readers would want that her novel to be real.

'I remember that there was no system in my novel then, where did you come from?'

[Systems arise when the natural order of the world gets disrupted. They are designed either to help the world to be back in its track or, to disrupt the world. And for your information, I could help you in both the cases.]

'Fine. Then, let me make some things clear. I will tell you what I think of this situation and you would tell me in— Yes or No. Understood?'

[Yes.]

'Are you, my system?'

[Yes.]

'Can I return back to my world?'

[No.]

'Do I have to stay in Sharon's body forever?'

[... Yes]

Alex sighed heavily. So, she would have to not only stay in this world but also, would have to stay in Sharon's body forever.

It wasn't she hated being a woman. She didn't really care what her gender was. Man or woman, it didn't matter to her. So, if she had to accept Sharon's identity then, so be it. Her male name wasn't any significant for her. 'Alex' was the symbol of her loneliness. She wasn't very much attached to that name. If a choice was given then, she would change it. Then again, she was an author. So, adapting for her was very easy in this situation of hers.

'I have decided. From now on, my name is Sharon.'
