Chapter 585: Isla Moore versus a man with 150,000 power (2)
Not even he remembers the exact moment when the rumors about the Missing Link began to spread, so he was never able to find the records that mentioned it. And why would they call it Link, of all words?
To date, he still doesn't know.
The only thing he knows right now is that his wounds inflicted by that woman are not healing and that... She could have regenerated an arm in the last few minutes.
Soon, he sighed. He realized that he was returning to the moment when he was stupid and continually thought about many things but never acted.
'It doesn't matter. She is an enemy and has even tried to open that door just now. I was sent as the guardian of that door, so I must kill her, whatever the cost. Or at least buy some time...'
Decided, he took his sword once more and pointed it at Isla.
"I don't have much to tell you. But you can call me Guardian of the Third Gate, GK3. Because of the danger you represent for our people, it is time for you to meet your end."
He turned his sword slightly, and in an instant, numerous curse spells shone upon him. At the same time, his Vampiric Mark appeared on his face, which increased his power considerably. His body flickered, and he attacked her ferociously.
It was so fast that Isla could not respond in time before her body was struck fiercely.
She tried to defend herself as best she could, but both attacks launched by him in an instant were cruelly aimed at breaking both her arms, and he succeeded.
Isla was forced to jump back and attack forward with several attacks from the Path of Control to distance herself from him for a moment, as the pain in her body was unbearable.
Although she was immortal, the pain of having an arm torn off was not going to go away. But she gritted her teeth and endured the pain with determination.
"Hehe, it seems that your resistance is too low to be worthy of standing up to me. You have barely 110,000 power. How do you think you can oppose me? You're deluded." GK3's voice began to lower as he spoke, and he began to see something amazing.
Isla's arm recovered at an abnormally fast speed.
'Immortality? Is she really immortal?' His heart skipped a beat as his blood briefly began to run in the opposite direction.
He almost died of fright in that instant.
"Impossible!"
Isla stared at him. "Would you shut up a little? Your vocal noises are really annoying."
Then she summoned the daggers in her hand again, which flew from where they had fallen to her hands with great speed.
She immediately darted towards him and attacked.
Her first attack hit the great sword.
"Shit, so what if you're immortal?! There's no way I can't beat you if you have so little power, you unbearable cockroach!"
Then, they both plunged into a bloody battle in an instant.
Isla's attacks never seemed to land because they were furiously blocked by a long sword that was difficult to move, but the man in front of her was very agile.
His fighting style was different from Emma's. It was more deadly and direct, relying more on his own strength and power, while Emma was more methodical. She needed to rely on her ears and her skill, which gave her touches of elegance and sensibility.
In this case, the guy's battle style gave him touches of rudeness and a high animal sense.
In both styles of fighting, they had a good mastery of the sword, but the latter was more complicated to confront.
And even more so when Isla's core abilities are mental disorders, but the difference right now was so significant that even enhancing her abilities with immortality couldn't affect him.
That's why she could see how her attacks failed to hit the right spot, and she soon began to suffer a brutal counterattack.
Her right arm was brutally knocked backward and shattered in an instant by that tremendous power.
Isla frowned, and as she tried to avoid the attack on her legs, she had an idea.
She immediately focused on regenerating her arm as quickly as possible, managing to do so in record time. The man before her did not expect it, which is why he was hit in the stomach from a weak point.
He arched his body slightly in pain, which was the perfect opportunity for Isla to attack him with all her strength.
"Now, Aline!"
Aline had arrived a while ago, but she was eagerly hiding around the room, looking for the perfect moment, as she knew how dangerous this guy was.
The moment she heard Isla's scream, she immediately jumped towards him and attacked him with all her strength.
This was no longer just vampiric power, this was a brutal attack from a woman created to be an incredibly resistant tank with astonishing attack power.
Although he was powerful, Aline's attack, combined with Isla's, still wound him and sent him crashing into one of the room's walls.
Both girls couldn't miss such a good opportunity; they both jumped at him and hit him from different angles.
Despite this, they were forced to defend themselves because, as soon as he fell, the guy took it upon himself to launch a series of brutal attacks different from the ones they had seen before.
'Did his fighting style change?' Isla thought and tried to destabilize her rival's mind, but she couldn't find him when she launched her attack.
"Did he disappear?" She looked quickly across the room and frowned.
Aline remained alert, but nothing happened for the next three minutes.
"Did he leave?" Aline asked strangely when all the dust had settled, and they could no longer see any trace of the guy.
Isla kept her guard up, finding that suspicious.
But despite waiting for more than 15 minutes, the person did not appear.
Then she frowned and looked towards the door...
'I see.' She sighed.
"He just wanted to distract us, somehow. The door has disappeared, and he doesn't seem to be here."
Finally, Aline noticed it.
"Oh, right. I saw it when I came in... Did he take it? The girls told me it was part of the altar. Did he take the altar, too?"
"It's possible." Isla nodded. "He must have felt that staying here wouldn't bear fruit. Hm... Or maybe he just disappeared to reappear?"
"Does that mean he's still nearby, too?"
Isla frowned. Her mental attacks were not reaching anyone at the moment, so technically, he shouldn't be close, but...
'It's not impossible, considering his power.' She checked the basement one more time before starting to walk.
"We need Matt to come and check it. I don't have enough power to kill that guy yet."
Finally, they both left the basement, leaving it silent once again, just as it had been at the beginning.
...
