Noir approached him. "What happened to him?" he asked the servant who was helping the inn owner.
"The inn was his everything, and now that it's destroyed like this, he can't help but be afraid," the servant explained. "He can't ask for compensation from immortals."
The inn owner was simply in shock. His inn was destroyed, he didn't have much in savings to repair it, and he certainly didn't have the courage to ask Noir for compensation.
With a smile Noir placed his hand on the inn owner's shoulder. "You don't have to ask as I'll help you repair this place; seems I need a place to stay for a while until I decide my next destination."
The inn owner finally sighed in relief, feeling immensely grateful. He bowed towards Noir. "Thank you..."
The villagers also bowed to Noir and began to leave, not wanting to attract the immortals' attention. Slowly, the place became deserted as people shut themselves in their home, driven by fear.
