post-apocalypse I can turn anything in to a weapon

Chapter 2: Chapter 2 - The First Step

Ren took a shaky breath, eyes locked on the glowing blue screen in front of him. The words [Class Acquired: ITEMLESS CHAMPION] still hovered midair, floating like a game notification.

He rubbed his temples. This is just like an RPG... A system window, skills, class selection... But it's real.

The distant roar of monsters snapped him back to reality. He had no time to panic. Think, Ren. If this really was a game, then—

"Open Status Window."

With a soft ping, another screen appeared.

> [Status Window]

Name: Ren Kisaragi

Class: Itemless Champion (Unique)

Level: 1

HP: 100/100

MP: 50/50

Strength: 10

Agility: 12

Intelligence: 14

Skills:

Weaponization (Lv.1) – Convert objects into weapons for a short time. Costs 10 MP per transformation. Cooldown: 1 minute.

Durability Boost (Passive) – Transformed weapons last twice as long as normal objects.

Ren's eyes widened as he scrolled down.

> Class Description: A warrior who fights with no set weapons, turning the world itself into his arsenal. Creativity is his greatest strength.

He exhaled slowly. "So... I can turn anything into a weapon, but it costs mana. And after the cooldown, the object turns back to normal?"

This is insane.

But at the same time—

It was exactly like a game.

Ren grinned. I can work with this.

---

First Experiment

He scanned his messy apartment. He needed a weapon.

His eyes landed on an empty soda can on his desk. Hesitating for only a second, he grabbed it.

"Alright... Let's test this."

"Activate Weaponization!"

The can glowed blue, its shape distorting and shifting in his hand. Within seconds, the flimsy aluminum hardened into a solid spiked knuckle weapon. The system window updated:

> [Soda Can → Brass Knuckles]

Attack Power: 15

Durability: Medium

Effect: Increased Impact Strength

Ren let out a short laugh. This is actually working!

But then—

> [Mana: 40/50]

Right. Using skills drained MP, and he only had 50 right now. He needed to be careful.

Before he could analyze further, a sudden crash echoed from outside.

A monster had entered his building.

---

The First Battle

Ren's breath hitched. He rushed to the window.

Down below, a humanoid figure was crawling up the walls, its limbs twisted and elongated unnaturally. Its skin was charred black, its mouth split open in an ear-to-ear grin, revealing rows of jagged teeth.

> [Mutant Ghoul - Lv.2]

Ren swallowed hard. This is a low-level monster… but I'm only Level 1.

The ghoul's head suddenly snapped in his direction. It saw him.

Ren backed away as the creature lunged, smashing through his apartment window with an ear-piercing screech.

Glass shattered around him.

It's fast. Too fast.

But Ren didn't hesitate. He clenched his brass-knuckled fist and swung.

CRACK!

His enhanced punch connected with the ghoul's jaw, sending it skidding backward.

The creature let out a screech, shaking its head. The brass knuckles worked—but Ren could already feel them losing power.

> [Weaponization Effect Fading…]

[Returning to Normal Object in 5 Seconds]

Ren's eyes widened. Crap. The cooldown is kicking in!

The ghoul recovered, its clawed hands slashing forward.

Ren jumped back, his mind racing. Think! Think!

His gaze darted around the room—

His eyes locked onto his metal desk lamp.

Perfect.

He grabbed the lamp and yelled—

"Weaponization!"

The lamp glowed, morphing in his hands. The base extended into a steel club, the wires twisting into spiked reinforcements.

> [Lamp → Reinforced Club]

Attack Power: 20

Effect: Stuns on Critical Hits

The ghoul lunged again.

Ren swung with all his strength.

BAM!

The club smashed into the monster's head, sending it crashing through the broken window. The ghoul let out one last shriek—

And plummeted six stories down to the streets below.

SPLAT.

Ren stood there, panting, gripping his weapon.

Then—

> [You Have Defeated Mutant Ghoul - Lv.2!]

[You Have Gained 30 EXP!]

[Level Up!]

A golden light surged through his body.

Ren blinked. Then—

He grinned.
