Chapter 7: The Road to Pewter City
Doom walked away from the battle, feeling proud and confident. He had defeated Jessie and her Pokémon, and he had proven to himself that he was a capable trainer.
As he walked, Doom noticed a fork in the road ahead. The left path led to Viridian City, while the right path led to Pewter City.
Doom thought for a moment, considering his options. He could go back to Viridian City and challenge the Gym Leader, or he could head to Pewter City and explore the surrounding area.
In the end, Doom decided to head to Pewter City. He had heard that the city was home to a Pokémon Gym, and he was eager to challenge the Gym Leader and earn his first Gym Badge.
As he walked, Doom noticed that the landscape was changing. The trees were becoming more sparse, and the air was growing cooler.
After a few hours of walking, Doom finally arrived in Pewter City. The city was bustling with activity, and Doom could see the Pokémon Gym in the distance.
Doom's heart was racing with excitement. He was finally here, and he was ready to challenge the Gym Leader.
But as he approached the Gym, Doom noticed that something was off. The building seemed to be surrounded by a group of rough-looking men, and they were all staring at Doom with a mixture of curiosity and hostility.
Doom's eyes narrowed, his instincts telling him that something was wrong.
"Who are you?" one of the men growled, stepping forward.
Doom stood tall, his confidence unwavering. "I'm Doom, a Pokémon trainer," he said. "And I'm here to challenge the Gym Leader."
The men looked at each other, seemingly unsure of what to do.
Finally, one of them spoke up. "The Gym Leader is not available right now," he said. "But if you want to challenge him, you'll have to go through us first."
Doom's eyes narrowed, his determination growing. "I'm not afraid of you," he said. "Bring it on."
The men sneered, but Doom could see a glimmer of respect in their eyes.
"Alright, kid," one of them said. "Let's see what you're made of."
And with that, the battle began.
To be continued...
