Chapter 19: Great Income!
The woman ignored the raging men and women at the counter before speaking to Leon. She was one of the adults who came in earlier and left silently to retrieve some money.
"Of course, Poochyena is ₱2,000 and Electrike is ₱2,500; this will also include 3 Pokéballs, just so you know." Leon nodded and confirmed with her.
"I understand, I already went to retrieve the money and Pokéballs." The woman pulled out the money and Pokéballs before placing them on the counter. Though she was confused about the request for Pokéballs, she complied nonetheless.
Leona counted the money before confirming that it was ₱4,500. This was an astronomical figure to the siblings.
"Alright, here are the confirmation papers for the said Pokémon. I have a scanner here to evaluate the Pokémon on the spot, would like to confirm this?" Leon placed the paper on the counter and asked.
"Yes." The woman nodded in surprise before speaking.
Both Poochyena and Electrike were summoned before Leon evaluated them. The adults around were stunned at the turn of events. This made for a solid and clean sale without leaving any loopholes.
Indeed, the Pokémon had the Gray grade aptitude as it appeared on the scanner in gray. Leon recalled the two Pokémon before handing the Pokéballs and papers to the woman.
The middle-aged woman thanked Leon and his siblings with sincerity and left with the brightest smile. She couldn't wait to surprise her sons with these Pokémon.
"Damn it!" This youngster didn't leave any loopholes for them to exploit; they couldn't even claim they were being scammed.
Afterward, more parents and children their age arrived on the scene to buy some Pokémon. A middle-aged man quickly wanted to buy the Taillow with the highest aptitude for his daughter.
Leon sold it for ₱5,000, which was equivalent to 5,000 dollars. These people had been saving up for years, so they were okay with spending this much money. Not to mention, this was among the highest aptitudes you could find in the wild.
This was equivalent to giving his daughter a strong start in her journey. Leon didn't bond with these Pokémon because he was going to sell them. The man also handed Leon 5 Pokéballs at the end of the transaction.
Leona and Lars also started dancing seeing such an amount of money come in. They had never seen so much money at once before.
Leon kept selling Pokémon as adults and children his age appeared. He sold the three F+ Taillows for ₱1,800 each since it was a flying Pokémon and not so easy to capture. He received two Pokeballs for each of them as well.
Sales continued for an hour before almost all of these Pokémon were sold. Leon and his siblings had made ₱34,400 and accumulated 37 extra Pokéballs.
In total, they had ₱35,302 and 47 Pokéballs.
The adult from before could only watch on as every Pokémon was sold. However, there were still two Pokémon that weren't sold.
Barboach and Wrumple.
After a time, Leon found that there wasn't anyone interested in the two Pokémon. They could only pack up and leave the market. Well, there wasn't much to pack up; they just simply left after returning the scanner.
The adults from before were glaring at Leon and his family with resentment. They really thought they could get one over these youths, but failed. They even had the 'honor' of watching them make a killing.
The message was clear from Leon's gaze, if they didn't want to buy it someone else would.
"What? I heard that someone was selling Pokémon at Merchant's Ally, where are they?" An old man asked anxiously.
They were selling Pokémon for a time, but unfortunately, they're gone." A middle-aged man sighed and said.
"What? Damn it! Why am I always too late on the uptake?" The old man was seething with annoyance.
"Maybe because you're too old, this is likely it." An old woman selling meat at a stall said somewhat mockingly.
"Lian, you old thing, who are you calling old?" The old man approached the stall and argued with the old woman.
"I need to keep an eye on Merchant Ally just in case they come back." Someone said within the crowd of people.
This was many people's thoughts, they only just heard about someone selling Pokémon. They had some keep an eye on merchant ally just in case this salesman appeared again.
Leon and his siblings didn't head straight home; they were also clueless about what was happening at the market.
Their destination was the food market, they even targeted a few stalls that were selling meat.
Leona was the main culprit, she bought Tauros meat, vegetables, and berries. Leon and Lars only watched on until she was finished.
"We've really made a killing, should we head out into the wild to collect more Pokémon?" Lars rubbed his chin and said with a smile.
"We can't do it now, let's wait a while before going back into the wild." Leon and his siblings had already attracted attention, so Leon wanted to lay low for a while.
He didn't think anyone would try anything funny, but who could say it wasn't possible?
Lars realized they had a few enemies and couldn't attract too much attention. Additionally, Leon had just assaulted the son of the Pokémart family.
After grocery shopping for a bit, they went home.

Suddenly, a middle-aged with a Pringle mustache fist smashed on a table.
"Are you saying this is going to go on my son's record?! Can't you see with your eyes that my son is the one that was beaten?!" The middle-aged man was Jacob's father, and he was burning with fury.
"Calm down, sir. The tape had evidence that your son initiated the fight. That youngster was simply defending himself against his attacker. Not to mention, your son called him many derogatory names before going on the assault."
The officer couldn't and wouldn't be biased here. This could threaten his easy working high paid job. The officer didn't give the middle-aged man a chance to reply and left the room.
"These useless cops, they don't know what's good for them." The Pringles mustache man clenched his fist, his veins visible on his face, arms, and fist.
"Boss, we've done some digging and found that it was one of the siblings at the Iron factory. He was beaten up by the second twin, the one who called your business out as a scam." A skinny man who looked to be in his mid-twenties said.
"What? Was it those useless poor bastards from the factory? He was even beaten into a pulp by the second child, wasn't he beaten into an unconscious state back then?"
The Pringled mustache man found it hard to believe. His son had his nose broken, and his ribs had several fractures so he wasn't getting out of bed anytime soon. He had to undergo urgent surgery to deal with this problem.
"So he was probably doing this out of revenge! Those little fu**ers! I want you to deal with them cleanly, don't leave any evidence behind!"
These bastards had harmed his business before from their wording last time. People began doing some research and found that he was overpricing the Pokéballs. These families had opted to order Pokéballs online and have them delivered instead.
The Pokémon Alliance would carry out quick airdrops to the local mail station.
People could get a good deal if you bought them in bulk online. Depending on the order, they could usually send Pelipper to deliver the goods.
"Boss, we can't do that, at least not now. This small case is still too hot, so if something were to happen, we would be the prime suspects." A fat man standing next to him warned.
"What the f**k, do you think I'm supposed to take this lying down?!" The Pringled mustache man's rage was reaching its peak and he roared.
"Boss, soothe your rage, we've also got a plan to deal with them cleanly. We just hope that it will work but it will also depend on them."
The skinny man laughed and continued. "Those brats have left the town and have caught Pokémon recently. Most of them seem to have been sold to the locals at Merchant Ally."
"And...continue."
"I think they're going to leave town again to capture more Pokémon. This is our opportunity to get rid of them. They've also been asking for Pokéballs in return for Pokémon."
The skinny man was certain that they would use those Pokéballs to catch more Pokémon later.
"Make sure to keep an eye on all the town's exits. Let me know if any of them leave town." The Middle-aged man gritted his teeth and said.
"Will do sir, will do." The man nodded and left the room with his fat companion.
"You little bastards, you can't blame for what's to come." The Pringled mustache man's eyes glinted with a cold light.

Leon and his siblings were once again gathered around the table. They checked the earnings and once again felt an excited sensation.
"We've earned a lot from selling Pokémon, but being a trainer is expensive. I want to get us into something that will give us a steady flow of income."
Leon wanted to do business somehow, but what type of business could he get himself into?
"A business? We'd need a really good idea or product for something like that." Lars sighed and shook his head. The world has many wonders. What could they come up with that could constantly bring in steady income?
"I might figure out something in the future, but for now, we can only make money this way." Leon had a system, perhaps he could come up with something later.
"You guys are smart, I'm sure you will figure something out in time," Leona stood up and released her Swablu, before going to watch her hands. She was preparing to make lunch for everyone.
"As for going into the wild, we may go next week or in two weeks. We'll have to be extra careful this time since we've probably garnered some attention." Leon theorized that others might follow in their food steps, or cause trouble later.
"That makes sense, I think we should wait a bit. I also believe some people may try their chances in the wild with those new Pokémon."
"That's none of our concern, let them try what they want to try. At some point, they'll have to go out into the wild anyway once they become official trainers."
Leon wasn't concerned about people trying to capture and sell Pokémon.
"I'm going to the manufacturing area to feed my Pokémon, let me know when lunch is ready," Leon told them that he planned to distribute their money evenly before their departure.
"Come out Aron, Beldum, Nosepass, Shroomish, Taillow, and Poochyena." Leon summoned his Pokémon, at least the ones he currently valued.
"Alright guys, it's time to eat." When Nosepass and Aron heard these words, they danced in joy.
Leon could still see the sharpness in Taillow's gaze; it still held a grudge from the previous trap he and his siblings set.
Leon was speechless; a scheme was also a strength, right? No other Pokémon seemed to have any qualms with being captured.
He quickly took some pure iron and fed them to Nosepass, Beldum, and Aron. Leon fed Poochyena cooked meat and Taillow was given berries.
As for Shroomish, it highly favored vegetables. Taillow harrumphed and began to eat the berries Leon provided for it.
"This little guy is funny, being so narrow-minded. I guess every Pokémon has their personality." Leon smiled, this bird had quite the attitude for such a little guy.
"Eat well, Aron and Beldum, you guys will be needed in the future for gym battles." Indeed, these two were key Pokémon for countering and defeating Roxanne later on.
'Yes, yes, my little friends, eat well.' Leon grinned as he watched them eat without restraint.
