Chapter 290: Sasuke: The Art of Showing Off, Mastered Instantly!

"Wow! Hokage-sama!!!"

With just a cool turn of his back, Haneda had already drawn gasps of admiration from the entire crowd.

Retrieving the kunai in his hand, Haneda glanced at Naruto and Sasuke.

Naruto had an expression that screamed, "As expected." Sasuke thought it was impressive but also felt that something about it was… off.

Moments later, Haneda found himself surrounded by a throng of students.

A girl tugged at his sleeve and asked, "Hokage-sama! I heard you used to skip classes and were often late. Is that true?"

"Yeah, yeah! A lot of students are planning to follow your example!" another girl chimed in.

Hearing their chatter about such rumors—and that they even wanted to imitate him—Haneda shot a glance at Naruto and firmly denied it:

"Completely false, all of it!"

"I, Uchiha Haneda, have never skipped class or left early. I studied seriously every day, worked hard, and achieved outstanding results."

"Back then, only Kakashi could compare to me!"

Haneda was convinced that sending shadow clones to class didn't count as skipping.

The surrounding girls immediately believed his words and began praising his diligence and persistence.

Only Naruto and Sasuke twitched at the corners of their mouths.

Just last month, Haneda had said something entirely different...

Nearby, several teachers stepped in to pull away the starstruck students and formed a barrier to keep the crowd from overwhelming Haneda.

Haneda's former teacher, Takakura Bunta, approached.

After decades of teaching, Takakura had become the school's director of education.

Seeing Haneda standing tall and admired by all, Takakura felt a mix of pride and regret.

After all, Haneda was one of the three students he considered his greatest failures.

"Teacher, you're still teaching here?" Haneda greeted warmly, noticing Takakura Bunta.

"Yes, all these years. And now you're Hokage. I still remember you saying you weren't interested in being Hokage back then," Takakura replied.

Haneda gave an awkward chuckle. Being around his old teacher always made him feel a bit uneasy.

After exchanging pleasantries, Haneda quickly found an excuse to leave and arrived at Naruto and Sasuke's classroom.

Iruka stepped forward respectfully.

"Hokage-sama, are you planning to teach now?"

Haneda glanced at the students who had surrounded him once again, feeling a headache coming on.

Should he just half-heartedly go through the motions, like Naruto would in the future, and perform a set of military-style exercises?

Just then, Sasuke spoke up.

"Uncle Haneda, can you demonstrate a ninjutsu? The ones taught at school are too basic."

At Sasuke's suggestion, the surrounding students grew excited.

They wanted to see the legendary God of Ninja perform a jutsu far more than they cared about a lecture.

"Alright, I'll show you."

Haneda nodded slightly, drawing the blade at his waist. Lightning began crackling along the silver blade, as if a thousand birds were chirping.

"Chidori! That's Chidori! Hokage-sama's signature jutsu! He created this A-rank Lightning Release technique at the age of five!!"

Someone recognized the jutsu and exclaimed in awe.

Haneda felt a familiar gaze on him. Looking up, he spotted Kakashi standing on the rooftop of the school building.

Originally planning to go through the motions, Haneda smiled faintly and decided to step it up.

In an instant, both Lightning Release Chakra Mode and Wind Release Chakra Mode were activated!

Lightning and wind—both attributes known for their speed—transformed Haneda into a streak of light as he vanished from sight.

In a flash, Haneda reappeared in front of the rows of wooden training posts.

In another blink, a figure streaked like lightning between the posts.

One after another, the posts were sliced cleanly and fell to the ground simultaneously.

The entire demonstration lasted less than half a second.

Everyone, students and teachers alike, was left speechless.

"So fast!"

Haneda calmly explained, "Wind represents cutting, and lightning represents diffusion. Both symbolize speed."

"If you can master the nature and shape transformation of Wind and Lightning Chakra like I have, you can achieve this as well."

Sasuke's eyes sparkled with admiration as he watched Haneda show off.

At that moment, something deep within his soul awakened.

The art of showing off—mastered instantly!

Unlike Sasuke's excitement, Naruto seemed unimpressed.

Haneda had often taken Naruto flying through the sky, showing him both Wind Release and Lightning Release Chakra Modes in the process.

Just as the crowd buzzed with excitement, a furious voice broke through the commotion.

"Haneda! What have you done? Without training equipment, how are the students supposed to practice?!"

Hearing the familiar scolding tone, Haneda instinctively felt a bit guilty.

When he saw his old teacher, Takakura Bunta, storming over angrily, Haneda gave an embarrassed laugh.

"It's simple—I'll just fix it."

With a clap of his hands, Haneda used Wood Release to regrow the wooden posts, which now stood brand new.

The surrounding students and teachers were stunned. It was the legendary Wood Release!

Seeing the freshly restored equipment, Takakura's anger instantly dissipated.

He chuckled and rubbed his hands together.

"Hokage-sama, the targets used for shuriken practice are also in poor condition. Could you take a look?"

Following Takakura's gaze, Haneda noticed the worn and damaged targets.

With another clap of his hands, a set of brand-new targets appeared.

"When did you become so frugal, Teacher?" Haneda remarked, noticing the change in Takakura.

Takakura sighed and complained, "Isn't it because you increased the enrollment by five or six times this year?"

"We were already short on equipment, and now it's even worse with so many new students."

The mention of enrollment reminded Haneda of how he had originally planned to triple the intake but impulsively increased it to five times.

This was his fault...

Haneda coughed awkwardly and said, "Go find Shikaku for funds later. Tell him it's on my orders."

After sending his old teacher away, Haneda lost interest in showing off.

He spent a few minutes promoting the Will of Fire and a few more encouraging the students.

Naruto, already half-asleep, nearly passed out from boredom.

With the lesson over, Haneda teleported to the rooftop of the school building and stood next to Kakashi.

Looking out over the school, he mused:

"Takakura-sensei has really changed. After becoming the education director, he's become so particular about public resources."

"Back in the day, when Obito broke a few kunai and shuriken, Sensei didn't even bat an eye."

"But he's still just as dedicated to his students."

Haneda chuckled, recalling something.

"Ha! At least it seems like Sensei didn't tell anyone about us skipping classes and being late, or the times we snuck off with Obito."

Kakashi corrected him, "Skipping class? Don't twist the truth, Haneda."

"We sent shadow clones to class. That's not skipping!"

Haneda laughed, "Right, right. We were hardworking and diligent, with our real bodies out training hard."
