Pokemon: These Players are too annoying!

Chapter 88: Block the way

"Is this the right way?"

"Not sure. Damn it, why is every path blocked?!" Misty scratched her head in frustration.

To make matters worse, their Pokémon were starting to tire out.

Even though they had smashed through many obstacles, Pokémon strength wasn't infinite.

This made Misty think about calling out Gyarados.

Of course, that was out of the question. There was still electricity around here, and just a small amount could cause Gyarados a lot of trouble.

"Pika pika..." (When are we getting out of here...)

Hearing that, Red patted Pikachu's head to comfort it, which made Charmander a bit jealous.

Even though Red had a system, honestly, he had no idea how to use it properly.

Like call system to displaying entire route ahead or borrowing money from others to buy things...

...

Wait a minute...

DAMN IT!!! THE AUTHOR FORGOT AGAIN!!!

Red immediately called for the system.

[Hah?! W-What is it now?!]

The system appeared, looking like it had been busy hanging out with its two "big brothers."

"..."

[Huh? Oh, great! Finally, I'm not useless anymore!!]

With that, the system pulled up a video, displaying the entire route ahead for Red.

After analyzing the footage, Red finally figured out the way out.

However, some paths were blocked. What should they do now?

Well...

Red turned to look at Zero2hero.

"Huh? Why are you staring at me like that?"

Suddenly, a mission screen popped up in front of Zero2hero.

[Mission]

Hand over all your money, right now.

Reward: Red's favorability + (Current: 5/100)

???

How was this not just straight-up robbery?!

And what use was favorability anyway?!

But a mission was a mission. With a pained expression, Zero2hero reluctantly handed all their money to Red—6,000 Pokédollars.

Red then opened the shop and browsed through the items.

TM Tailwind and... bombs!

It seemed other players had also used these things to save Red's group, right?

Well, now it was his turn to use them to save others!

Red called out Pidgeotto and used the TM on it.

Ding! Pidgeotto has learned Tailwind!

After learning the move, Red immediately ordered Pidgeotto to use Tailwind.

Pidgeotto flapped its wings, creating a strong gust of wind that surged from behind everyone.

"Huh? What is this?!" Surge exclaimed in surprise.

Wasn't this the move Tailwind?!

Tailwind was a support move that doubled the speed of all Pokémon on the user's team. And, if applied to humans, they could benefit from it as well. After all, Pokémon were truly magical creatures~

"Red?! When did you teach Pidgeotto Tailwind? And if your Pidgeotto already had it, why didn't you use it earlier?!" Misty questioned him, while Leaf and Zero2hero were completely clueless about what was being discussed.

"..."

"...Why do I feel like I can't understand a word you're saying right now?"

But as everything around them began to tremble and shake, they decided to set their questions aside and run.

Thanks to Tailwind, their speed was now faster than ever.

"At this rate, we'll be out in no time!" someone shouted excitedly.

As they dashed forward, a strange feeling crept up behind them. The sound of footsteps grew louder and faster.

"...Hey, why do I feel like something's wrong?" Leaf nervously asked Misty.

"You're probably imagining things, I guess—"

"AGHHHHHH!!! IT'S A MACHAMP!!!" someone screamed, startling the group.

They turned around to see a muscular Machamp chasing after them. Despite its injuries, it was running incredibly fast.

What the hell?! Machamp was supposed to be slow, wasn't it?!

Its glowing red eyes filled everyone with fear, forcing them to run even faster. Taking a punch from Machamp would surely be hell!

The group pushed their limits, sprinting as fast as they could while the Machamp closed the distance.

When they encountered a large rock blocking the path, a few people reached for their Pokémon, but Red stopped them and used the bomb instead.

"...Red, why didn't you tell us you had bombs earlier?" Leaf asked suspiciously, making Red avert his gaze.

Charmander promptly spat fire at the bomb, detonating it and blasting the rocks aside.

"OH CRAP, MACHAMP'S ABOUT TO CATCH UP!!!" Zero2hero yelled in panic, causing everyone to break out in a cold sweat.

One of the group members glanced back at the approaching Machamp, only to turn forward and see a massive fist flying straight at him.

"Huh?"

The punch sent him flying into a wall, knocking him unconscious.

"W-What?!" Surge stammered as he turned to see another Pokémon stepping forward.

It emerged from the dust and revealed itself as a drilling Pokémon

Rhyperior!

"What the hell?! Why is that thing here?!"

Suddenly, a man walked out from behind Rhyperior.

"Good question," he said with a sinister grin. "But why don't you ask yourselves why you're still alive?"

Zero2hero froze upon hearing the voice. It was the Team Rocket Captain!

The Team Rocket Captain turned to Zero2hero with a murderous hatred burning in his eyes.

It seemed that Surge's group had left behind the unconscious enemies without finishing them off, unknowingly giving the captain a chance to recover.

"This will be your final stop, even if I have to die to make it happen," the captain said with a chilling laugh.

Oh, fantastic. He was going all out now.

"Rhyperior! EARTHQUAKE!"

DAMN IT! HE JUST WENT STRAIGHT FOR THE STRONGEST GROUND-TYPE MOVE?!

The ground trembled violently, sending many people tumbling down.

Red froze, unsure of what to do, but then noticed Zero2hero getting ready to act.

Wait a second—don't tell me they were about to try punching that Pokémon?! Seriously?! That's beyond stupid!

As Zero2hero prepared to charge at Rhyperior to stop it, a screen suddenly appeared in front of them.

[Warning!

If you keep dying, you will be permanently banned!

Please value your life more!]

Huh?!

Seeing the warning, Zero2hero hesitated, glancing back and forth between the advancing Machamp and the rampaging Rhyperior.

If I don't do something, who will?!

Machamp caught up to the group, grinning as it raised a fist to strike the nearest person. But just before the punch landed, a Pokémon dashed forward, throwing its own fist to meet Machamp's.

The two punches collided with immense force, generating a powerful shockwave.

Machamp looked at the Pokémon that dared to block its attack in surprise.

It was none other than Hitmonchan!

Seeing this, Machamp's grin widened in excitement. It raised three of its arms, swinging them simultaneously.

Hitmonchan braced itself, blocking all three punches, but the sheer force sent it skidding far back.

Smoke rose from Hitmonchan's hands, but its determined gaze never wavered.

Inspired by Hitmonchan's bravery, everyone had no choice but to summon their Pokémon.

Leaf called out both Ivysaur and Nidorina, while Misty sent out Starmie.

Charmander and Pikachu stepped forward, standing protectively in front of Red, ready to face Rhyperior head-on.

The battle resumed with an intensity that shook the cavern.
