Pokemon: These Players are too annoying!

Chapter 61: Red vs Blue: First fight

Magikarp was trembling as it stared at Pidgeotto, who was radiating a powerful killing intent toward it.

Yes, these two Pokémon were the first ones sent out by Red and Blue.

"Red, I think it's about time you throw away that Pokémon. I might not underestimate you, but that doesn't mean I'm not confident in myself."

'RED, WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING?! TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY, YOU FOOL!'

Blue spoke confidently, but his thoughts were a little different from his words...

Red, however, didn't change anything and kept his Pokémon in play without switching.

"Red, I suggest you swap your Pokémon. You won't be able to beat me."

"..."

"Don't stay so silent; being overconfident is a deadly weakness."

"Says the guy whose pride is higher than his mansion," Leaf remarked with an exasperated look at Blue.

Despite his words, seeing that Red wasn't responding, Blue had no choice but to continue the battle.

"Well, don't regret it, RED!"

He immediately ordered Pidgeotto to use Quick Attack on Magikarp.

Magikarp, terrified, used Splash, bouncing up high and dodging the attack.

"Wing Attack!"

Pidgeotto flew up, its two wings glowing and sharp.

Just as the attack was about to hit Magikarp, Red gave the command.

Magikarp used Splash.

As Pidgeotto's wings touched Magikarp, the fish Pokémon used them to jump even higher.

"It's useless! Gust!"

Pidgeotto flapped its wings, creating several small gusts to attack Magikarp.

The attack hit Magikarp, but it accidentally sent it flying even higher.

"...Wait, what?! Move away, Pidgeotto!" Blue quickly realized Red's plan and ordered Pidgeotto to dodge.

But Red had already given his command.

Magikarp continued to use Splash.

Although Splash is extremely useless and only makes the Pokémon bounce around like an ordinary fish, it has another effect—this move requires the Pokémon to hit the ground or something to bounce off of.

But what happens if it doesn't touch the ground?

It would fall as fast as possible to reach the ground!

Magikarp fell and collided with Pidgeotto, who was trying to dodge.

Both of them crashed to the ground, causing the wooden bridge to shake (but the bridge wasn't damaged at all—completely illogical!).

When the dust cleared, both Pokémon were fainted.

"Both Pokémon are unable to battle!"

"Impressive, you really managed to make my pretty strong Pokémon lose along with your weakest one. Only you could pull that off." Blue chuckled as he returned Pidgeotto to its Poké Ball.

Red tilted his head, wondering if that was a compliment.

"It's a compliment, you idiot," Blue said as he prepared his next Pokémon.

Red returned Magikarp and also prepared to send out another Pokémon.

"...I don't really want to say this, but I'm kind of jealous of Blue for being so close to Red," Misty whispered to Leaf.

"Yeah, yeah, I get it. That's why I always bully Blue."

"Come on out, Nidorino!"

Blue threw his Poké Ball, summoning a fierce Nidorino.

Meanwhile, Red sent out his Pidgeotto.

"Fury Attack!"

Nidorino charged forward, attacking Pidgeotto relentlessly.

Pidgeotto took the hits but remained calm. Deep down, it was listening for Red's command, and soon used Twister.

A whirlwind swept everything around, forcing Nidorino to back off to dodge, but Pidgeotto didn't give it that chance. It quickly followed up with a Quick Attack, rushing toward Nidorino.

"Poison Sting!"

Pidgeotto swiftly dodged Nidorino's poisonous spike, but saw that Nidorino was recklessly charging at it.

"TAKE DOWN!"

Nidorino forcefully slammed Pidgeotto into the ground, causing Pidgeotto to struggle in pain as it tried to push Nidorino off.

"THRASH!"

Nidorino's eyes glowed red as it unleashed a brutal flurry of attacks on Pidgeotto, each strike dealing heavy damage.

"Egg move?!" Leaf exclaimed in surprise, watching Nidorino mercilessly pound Pidgeotto.

After three rounds of vicious blows, Pidgeotto couldn't lift its head anymore, while Nidorino was affected by confusion and panting heavily.

"P-Pidgeotto is unable to battle! Nidorino wins!"

"How's that? Impressed? I trained my Nidorino really well!" Blue smirked, his face full of smugness and challenge.

Red recalled Pidgeotto, then glanced at Pikachu, who was resting inside his jacket.

Pika? (Heh?)

'Fight him.'

Pikachu heard Red's thoughts and glanced over at Blue.

Blue was standing there like an idiot, while Nidorino was barely conscious. (In her pov)

...Pikapi (...nah, too lazy).

'Why?'

Pika... (just don't feel like it...).

Pikachu yawned and snuggled back into Red's jacket.

'...If you don't battle, I'll go on a date with him.' (Huh?)

Pika (I'll fight).

Pikachu immediately leaped out of Red's jacket, eyes full of determination and fury.

Anything's fine, but giving Red to someone else? Don't joke with me!!

'Rey, thanks for the advice.' (Rey: You're welcome).

"Oh? You're finally sending out your main Pokémon? Let's see what you've got!"

'Iron Tail.'

Pikachu's tail turned to iron as it dashed toward Nidorino, striking it with one hit and knocking it out instantly.

"Nidorino is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!"

"...Well, your Pikachu's stronger than I expected!"

"But let's see what your Pikachu can do against my Elekid!"

Pikachu glared at Elekid as it was summoned. Elekid raised its hand in a taunting gesture, making Pikachu even more irritated.

Pika... (Oh, so you wanna play that way? Fine...)

I'll show you just how strong Red's favorite Pokémon really is!
