Pokemon: These Players are too annoying!

Chapter 24: Run!!

This scientist was working for Team Rocket, operating secretly under the orders of Archer.

His current mission was to experiment with adding different types to Pokémon.

The reason? Archer had recently become fascinated with Terastallization, a phenomenon from the distant Paldea region.

Adding a type to a Pokémon could be incredibly advantageous in battles, potentially eliminating any weaknesses.

Moreover, their boss Giovanni, who favored Ground and Rock-type Pokémon, often found his team hindered by the many weaknesses of the Rock-type.

Damn that Rock-type!

So while Archer claimed his work was for the benefit of Team Rocket, his true intention was to please Giovanni.

If the boss was happy, Archer was happy!

Unfortunately, this experiment wasn't leading anywhere, so Archer eventually abandoned this mad scientist altogether. But the scientist, unaware of this, continued to obsessively pursue his research.

One day, while passing through the black market, the scientist spotted a Gible up for sale.

Team Rocket, in their quest for world domination, had been gathering information on Pokémon and phenomena from various regions, including Mega Evolution, Dynamax, Z-Moves, and the newly discovered Terastallization.

Garchomp, the final evolution of Gible, had the potential to Mega Evolve and was one of the strongest Pokémon in the Sinnoh region.

Luckily for the scientist, the Pokémon thieves who captured Gible didn't know much about it, considering it just a rare Pokémon from Sinnoh.

They bundled it with other Pokémon for a mere 100,000 Pokedollars, not knowing that Gible was a Pokémon with power comparable to a legendary Pokémon, the scientist immediately purchased it.

"And now, it's in my hands! Wonderful! I'll hand this over to Boss Archer to prove my loyalty! Archer will definitely reward me!"

As the scientist was lost in his thoughts, he suddenly remembered something and stepped out of the room.

"Phew!" Lukas, who had been hiding behind the door, wiped the sweat from his brow.

"Stealth level 100! Stealing my sister's snacks really honed my sneaking skills!"

He then entered the room, noticing the Pokémon inside, all of whom were wary of him except for Gible.

However, before rescuing them, Lukas decided to swipe the items on the table first.

A true thief leaves nothing behind! That's the golden rule.

"Totodile! Take care of those metal cages!" he commanded while stuffing his pockets with the remaining items.

Gah! (Leave it to me!)

Totodile approached the metal cages, reassuring the Pokémon inside before attempting to bite through the locks. Unfortunately, instead of breaking the lock, Totodile ended up chipping his teeth.

GAHHHH!!

Totodile's scream echoed through the basement.

"YOU USELESS CROCODILE!!!" Lukas smacked Totodile on the head.

The scientist, hearing the scream, turned back towards the room.

Lukas, realizing the scientist was coming, quickly grabbed the remaining items and hid behind the door, preparing to ambush him.

But something went wrong.

As Lukas swung his fist, it was stopped mid-air by the scientist's hand.

???

Lukas was shocked as he stared at the scientist, who was now glaring at him.

What the heck? This scrawny guy blocked my punch?

"You little brat, what did you steal?"

The scientist punched Lukas in the face, causing his nose to bleed.

This guy knows how to fight!

Oh, right... and I'm still in a kid's body, so being weak makes sense...

"Totodile! Bite his leg!!" Lukas shouted.

Totodile lunged at the scientist, biting his leg, which startled him.

"What?! You've got a Johto starter Pokémon?!"

Wait, why isn't he in pain?

Totodile quickly let go, realizing his teeth had fallen out again.

Seeing the shocked expression on both Totodile and Lukas' faces, the scientist decided to explain.

After all, mad scientists always love to show off their knowledge.

"You fool! This is a pair of pants tougher than steel, specially made for Team Rocket! Even your Totodile's strong jaws are no match for them!"

But by the time he finished his explanation, both the thief and his Pokémon were gone.

And so was the metal cage...

Wait a minute, the metal cage?!

"YOU GODDAMN BRAT!!" The scientist quickly grabbed a Poké Ball and threw it out in anger.

That was Victreebel.

The scientist looked outside and saw Lukas holding a metal cage while Totodile followed behind.

He then ordered Victreebel

"Use Acid! Fire as far as you can!!"

Victreebel's mouth shot out a purple liquid aimed at Lukas.

Lukas quickly dodged, and the acid hit the ground, corroding everything it touched.

"Wait, acid?"

Lukas glanced at the metal cage, and the Pokémon inside suddenly felt a chill.

This human… he's not really going to use the cage to protect him, is he?

Even though there are Poison-type Pokémon like Nidoran, that Victreebel looks really strong—how could they resist its poison?

Just as Victreebel continued to shoot more acid, Lukas used the metal cage to block it.

HE ACTUALLY DID IT!!!

However, the acid had no effect. Or rather, it had no effect on the metal cage at all.

"Huh?" Lukas was confused, looking at the metal cage still intact, even though the Pokémon were so terrified they fainted. It didn't really do much.

"That Pokémon is completely useless! It looks huge but is actually good for nothing!"

Hearing the thief insult it, Victreebel got angry and chased after them, continuously firing acid.

Lukas and Totodile ran towards the exit of the basement, with Lukas frantically pressing the button to open it.

"Faster, faster, FASTER, FASTER, FASTER!!"

GAHH!! (They're getting closer!!)

Lukas turned around and saw the scientist and Victreebel approaching. They were only a few meters away!

"Use Water Gun, Totodile!!"

Totodile opened its mouth and sprayed water, which splashed onto Victreebel's face but didn't do much.

"I didn't tell you to shoot the Pokémon!! Aim for the scientist!!"

Gah?! (How was I supposed to know?!)

"I've got you now, you scoundrels!! Victreebel, use Razor Leaf!!"

Victreebel shot out two sharp leaves towards both Totodile and Lukas.

Fortunately, the bookshelf opened just in time, allowing them to escape and avoid the attack.

"You scoundrels! Don't think you can escape!!" The scientist, along with Victreebel, gave chase.

The two were pursued all around the house. Victreebel kept attacking relentlessly, giving Lukas no chance to catch his breath.

While running, Lukas remembered the kitchen.

'Wait a minute?! Why didn't I think of this plan sooner!'

'That guy's Pokémon is a Grass-type too!'

Eyeing the scientist and his Victreebel, Lukas decided to head upstairs.

The kitchen would be the key to deciding this battle!
