Seeing their leader, Victreebel, defeated, the nearby Bellsprout and Weepinbell who were still resisting were immediately stricken with fear.

They quickly abandoned their fight and scattered into the jungle, marking the end of this large-scale battle.

Sato did not order his Pokémon to pursue them. Instead, he immediately released Miltank and had her assist Bellossom in healing the Pokémon that had participated in the battle.

Miltank's healing method was a bit embarrassing—it required the recipient to drink her healing milk directly.

Of course, the milk could be collected and given later, but its effectiveness would be somewhat reduced. The best way to consume it was straight from the source.

However, this so-called embarrassment was only a human notion. Golbat and the other Pokémon didn't think there was anything shameful about it.

In fact, Growlithe and Meowth particularly enjoyed drinking milk and happily ran over to get their share.

Miltank's milk wasn't just highly nutritious and excellent for healing—it also rapidly restored stamina. It was truly an outstanding recovery item.

The only downside was its short shelf life. Even when stored at low temperatures, it could last at most two weeks. Otherwise, it would spoil in about two days, and its healing properties would gradually weaken over time.

At her current level of 30, Miltank could produce about three liters of milk per day. This was already considered a high yield.

Sato didn't know much about Miltank as a Pokémon, but he did know that maintaining her high milk production required proper care. To that end, he provided her with high-quality Pokémon food suitable for Normal-types.

However, seeing how Miltank was happily munching on the lush, juicy wild grass in the forest, Sato realized that providing her with premium pasture grass in the future might be the better approach.

Victreebel was a level 40 Pokémon who commanded a large number of Bellsprout and Weepinbell, making it a small "boss" in this area.

Now that Sato had put in the effort to defeat this boss, it was only natural that he would reap some spoils.

As an intruder, Sato had no intention of wiping out Victreebel entirely—he merely left it gravely injured. Whether it survived or not was up to fate.

However, as punishment for trying to take his life—and as a victor's right—Victreebel's belongings now belonged to him.

With Growlithe's keen nose leading the way, Sato soon found Victreebel's lair hidden in a small cave covered in thick vines.

But as soon as they approached the entrance, a foul, rotting stench wafted out from inside.

Growlithe, Shiny Beautifly, and Meowth, all possessing sensitive noses, immediately recoiled in discomfort. Growlithe even tucked its tail between its legs and ran back to Sato, looking pitifully at him.

"You've worked hard. Leave the rest to the others. Come back, Growlithe, Beautifly, Meowth," Sato said with a chuckle as he retrieved the three Pokémon into their PokéBalls.

Then, he took out a flashlight and entered the pitch-black cave with Golbat and Bellossom.

This dark cave was indeed Victreebel's nest. At the same time, it served as a nursery for the Bellsprout clan it led.

Not long after entering, Sato saw several animals and Pokémon hanging upside down from the ceiling, bound by vines.

The ordinary animals had already perished, their bodies shriveled and bearing small puncture wounds.

Nearby, a few young Bellsprout, around level 7 or 8, stared at him with expressions of either hostility or fear.

Behind them were several Pokémon eggs, covered in purplish-green spots.

Sato felt a pang of discomfort at the sight of this grim scene, but he harbored no particular animosity toward the Bellsprout clan led by Victreebel.

After all, every creature in nature followed its own survival rules. It wasn't his place as an outsider to interfere. Even if he did, he wouldn't be able to change anything.

As he ventured deeper into the cave, he encountered more and more lifeless creatures hanging from the ceiling. Before long, he also ran into a few Bellsprout guards left behind to protect the nest.

Of course, if even Victreebel had been defeated, these remaining guards posed no real threat.

Under Golbat's relentless ambushes—especially in the darkness where it thrived—not a single one of them remained standing.

Sato and his Pokémon pressed forward, cutting through all obstacles, until they finally reached the chamber at the very back of the cave—Victreebel's living quarters.

To his surprise, there was another Victreebel inside, this one at level 38. Judging by its appearance, it was likely the mate of the male Victreebel outside.

Just like all other Victreebel, she was ferocious. She had already gathered numerous Bellsprout guards, waiting in ambush at the cave's deepest chamber.

Now that she had spotted Sato and his Pokémon, she immediately launched a furious assault alongside her forces.

Unfortunately for her, Sato had already anticipated this thanks to Golbat's echolocation ability. With a brief probe, he had lured all of them out of hiding.

"Hmph, futile struggle. Golbat, Air Cutter! Growlithe, Flamethrower!"

Taking advantage of their position at the only entrance to the chamber, Sato commanded his Pokémon to unleash a barrage of attacks, trapping the enemy within the confined space.

With Golbat's cutting winds and Growlithe's raging flames working in tandem, the female Victreebel and her Bellsprout guards were swiftly overwhelmed.

The battle lasted less than ten minutes before the opposition was completely defeated, all of them collapsing onto the cave floor.

.....

The chamber at the cave's end was spacious, its ceiling lined with more captured creatures. Most had already perished.

However, a few were still alive—evidently freshly brought in.

To Sato's shock, among the survivors, he spotted three human trainers.

Judging by their cheap clothing, they were likely civilian trainers who had mistakenly wandered into Victreebel's territory and been captured by the male Victreebel.

These three were currently in a deep coma, having inhaled the Bellsprout clan's seductive Sweet Scent combined with an excessive dose of Sleep Powder.

"What a lucky find… A Kricketune, huh?"

Besides the trainers, Sato also discovered a Pokémon among the living captives that didn't belong to the Kanto region—a Kricketune.

His heart leaped with excitement.

This male Kricketune was level 37—a strong Pokémon. Yet, for some reason, it had been captured by the Victreebel clan.

It seemed that Kricketune was considered an exceptionally high-value prey. There were no signs that its nutrients had been drained, meaning it had been kept untouched.

Most likely, the male Victreebel had planned to feast on it personally, not even allowing the female Victreebel to touch it.

This fortunate turn of events let Sato claim the prize instead.

Without hesitation, he pulled out a specialized black PokéBall for the mission and easily captured the still-unconscious Kricketune.

According to the mission requirements, all he had to do was place this PokéBall into the slot on the back of his communicator, and the bug-catching task would be complete.

However, Sato wasn't satisfied with just earning 5,000 points.

Instead of transmitting the PokéBall immediately, he tucked it into his pocket. He planned to capture a few more mission-target Bug-type Pokémon before sending them all at once.
