The person who ultimately raised their hand was none other than Sato.

At that moment, he was under the intense scrutiny of many eyes from the auction hall.

However, with his face hidden behind a white mask formed by his Ditto, no one could discern the identity of the individual who had purchased the Shiny Wurmple.

Unfortunately for Sato, most people's gazes were filled with disdain or saw him as an easy target. After the auction ended, many approached him to pitch their "high-quality" products, clearly viewing him as a gullible spender.

Following the auction of the Shiny Wurmple, the nearly hour-and-a-half-long mini-auction session also concluded.

Guests gradually left the venue, while those who won their bids were escorted backstage to complete payments and collect their items.

Of the four mini-auction sessions held that morning, two featured Sato's high-quality Water Stones. One was sold for 10.2 million PokeDollars at this auction, while the other fetched 9.2 million PokeDollars at a separate session.

Combining these proceeds with the nearly 6 million PokeDollars already in his account, Sato could comfortably pay for both the Icy Wind TM and the Shiny Wurmple.

He now had over 6.3 million PokeDollars remaining in his Alliance bank account.

At 1:10 p.m., a famished Sato sat in a private dining room of a small restaurant near the Metagross Auction House, enjoying lunch with his Pokémon.

Notably absent from the group, however, was the Shiny Wurmple, who currently rested in a Friend Ball in Sato's hand—a Pokémon worth 15.1 million PokeDollars.

"Too bad the system can't detect Nature values. There's definitely some risk here… I just hope she evolves into a beautiful Beautifly. Otherwise, I might have overpaid a bit," Sato thought as he methodically ate his beef curry rice, his gaze fixed on the Friend Ball in his hand.

His decision to bid at the last moment wasn't out of a desire to help the beautiful auctioneer but because he saw massive potential in the Shiny Wurmple.

Through the system's scanning ability, Sato discovered the Shiny Wurmple's exceptional rating. This was only the second Pokémon he had encountered with a golden-grade rating, the first being his Bellossom.

Each Pokémon born with a golden-grade rating was almost like a gift from the heavens, possessing extraordinary qualities. Like his Bellossom, who has a top-tier talent for mastering Grass-type energy, the Shiny Wurmple stood out for her unique abilities.

In addition to her golden-grade rating, Sato noticed the Shiny Wurmple had a special talent.

Perhaps this was what people referred to as the "shiny ability." Although it didn't have dual abilities like that of the Shiny Wingull, this Wurmple's shiny ability was equally impressive.

....

Special Talent: Bug Monarch

(Nature's blessed ruler of Bug-types, she is blessed with extraordinary longevity and gains a 50% increase to her base stats.)

....

When Sato first saw these stats, he was utterly dumbfounded.

Initially, he believed his limited funds would prevent him from acquiring such a top-tier Pokémon. However, to his surprise, representatives of various factions chose to forgo the risk, allowing him to secure this remarkable deal.

Even setting aside the Wurmple's golden-grade IV ratings, the Bug Monarch ability alone was enough to make her irresistible. A 50% boost to her base stats?

That was nothing short of a divine talent!

This ability not only addressed the typically short lifespans of Bug-types but also transformed Wurmple's evolutionary line—usually considered subpar in combat—into something extraordinary.

One of the final forms of Wurmple, Beautifly has a base stat total of 395. With a 50% boost, this total skyrockets to 592.5, just 7.5 shy of the 600 base stat total of pseudo-legendary Pokémon!

Moreover, with a staggering individual value total of 184 and a 592.5 base stat potential, this Wurmple was destined for greatness.

Sato's only concern was whether she would evolve into Beautifly as he hoped. Between Beautifly and Dustox, Sato, with his normal sense of aesthetics, far preferred the elegant and adorable Beautifly.

Additionally, with Bellossom and the capability to craft top-tier PokéBlocks at his disposal, Sato could even consider dabbling as a Coordinator—a career with immense promise (and profit).

The earning potential of Coordinators was well-documented. Whether endorsing brands or serving as a special guest for events, the financial rewards were staggering.

On top of that, becoming a celebrity sounded pretty appealing to Sato. (Pokémon Coordinator - Sato Kaede?)

"Come out, Wurmple, and say hello to everyone!"

After briefly daydreaming about his future stardom, Sato snapped back to reality. He pressed the button on the Friend Ball, releasing the Shiny Wurmple.

Perhaps due to the effects of the Friend Ball, the Shiny Wurmple appeared to have some affection for her new Trainer. However, as a Bug Monarch, she carried herself with a natural arrogance.

She merely nodded at Sato and ignored his other Pokémon. With her head held high and her eyes closed, she exuded an air of aloofness.

But her aloof demeanor didn't last long.

Surrounded by Pokémon much larger and stronger than her—such as Golbat and Marshtomp—she quickly softened, displaying an admirable sense of adaptability.

Fortunately, with Bellossom and Ditto playing the role of mediators, the initially distant Shiny Wurmple gradually integrated into Sato's quirky post-lunch group.

Perhaps due to their shared shiny status, the Shiny Wingull and Shiny Wurmple got along exceptionally well.

Before long, the Shiny Wingull was carrying the Shiny Wurmple around the room in a joyful aerial display.

While Golbat remained upside down on the ceiling with his eyes closed, the rest of the Pokémon began a lively post-meal ball game. Marshtomp, with his immense strength, accidentally sent the ball hurtling across the room, striking Sato squarely as he ate his curry rice.

For a moment, chaos reigned in the private dining room.
