In a critical moment, Nidoran's eyes flashed blue, and his entire body was instantly enveloped in a layer of blue psychic energy, pausing his fall mid-air for a half-second.

This brief moment allowed Nidorino's Take Down, which would have been a direct hit, to narrowly miss Nidoran.

Nidoran, his eyes glowing intensely, powered up his sturdy hind legs, which shone with a white light, and quickly delivered a double-kick to Nidorino's head, striking a critical point.

With a loud "thud," Nidorino's head was hit hard, his jaw slamming onto the ground, causing slight cracks to appear on the surface.

At the same time, Nidoran used the momentum from kicking Nidorino's head to leap into the air again. Without waiting for a command from Sato, he swiftly formed a blue energy sphere.

"Look out, Nidorino! Get up!! Use Double Kick to jump and then go for a Take Down!" Fujita shouted, his face changing drastically.

Unfortunately, although Nidorino was a Poison-type, a hit to his head—a weak point—by a Double Kick from the Vitality-enhanced Nidoran was no small matter.

The severe head injury left Nidorino dazed, unable to hear Fujita's commands.

Moments later, Nidoran's Water Pulse came crashing down from above, hitting the defenseless Nidorino squarely in the soft abdomen—another critical hit.

When the splashes from the Water Pulse settled, Nidorino was entirely knocked out, no longer able to fight.

"Nidorino is unable to battle. The winner is Nidoran," the temporary referee announced after counting down for ten seconds, confirming Nidorino still couldn't stand.

In the next second, applause broke out from the other spectators around the battlefield for the victor.

From start to finish, the battle lasted barely two minutes, a rapid-fire confrontation with a decisive outcome—a true blitz match.

To most of the audience, Nidoran had seemed at a disadvantage initially. Yet, thanks to Nidoran's own abilities and his trainer's skillful commands, the match took an unexpected turn.

For those with a discerning eye, however, the gap between Nidoran and Nidorino wasn't significant.

Despite Nidorino's higher level, his limited move set compared to Nidoran's mastery of moves diminished that advantage considerably.

If Nidorino had a few more moves in his arsenal, the battle outcome might have been different.

Nidoran's victory largely stemmed from the disparity in training resources each trainer invested in their Pokémon.

"Well done, Nidoran! Your hard work has paid off—both Double Kick and Water Pulse were spot-on," Sato praised, patting the happily returning Nidoran on the head.

"Return, Nidorino," Fujita muttered, his face dark with displeasure as he recalled his defeated Nidorino. "Don't get too smug. This match isn't over yet. I'll make sure my next one takes down your remaining two Pokémon. Go, my ace!"

Fujita drew another PokéBall from his belt, releasing a powerful-looking Scyther from a Great Ball.

"Scyther!" A flash of white light burst forth, and once it faded, a muscular Scyther appeared on the battlefield. Immediately raising his scythes, he let out a fierce cry.

His wings beat furiously, allowing him to hover briefly before landing steadily on the ground.

This Scyther was Fujita's pride and joy. Fujita had poured most of his resources into training him, making him the most well-developed Pokémon in his roster.

In addition, he'd spent his savings on several TMs to optimize Scyther's abilities. Fujita was confident that his Scyther could hold its own against Pokémon raised by elite trainers.

And indeed, Sato could tell that Fujita's Scyther was no ordinary opponent.

Scyther's stats are as follows:

Pokémon: Scyther

Level: 21

Type: Bug/Flying

Ability: Technician

Gender: Male

Known Moves: Vacuum Wave, Quick Attack, Leer, Focus Energy, Pursuit, False Swipe, Agility, Wing Attack, Bug Buzz (Egg Move), Double Team (TM), Aerial Ace (TM), Protect (TM), X-Scissor (TM)

"What a formidable Scyther, with the Technician ability too," Sato thought, his gaze sharpening as he reviewed the data. "If I don't use Golbat and Bellossom, it'll be tough to handle him with just Nidoran and Growlithe."

"Can you still keep going, Nidoran?"

Despite the challenge, Sato wasn't about to back down. He addressed Nidoran, who had just leveled up to 16 after defeating the level 20 Nidorino.

"Nido! Nido!" Nidoran nodded eagerly, his fighting spirit even more intense than before. His recent battle had fired him up, awakening a warrior spirit in his blood.

Once both sides were ready, the referee announced the start of the match.

Scyther, unlike Fujita's other Pokémon, had a highly developed battle instinct. The instant the referee gave the signal, he pushed off with his wings and feet, leaving fleeting afterimages and covering half the battlefield in a flash, closing in on Nidoran.

"Use X-Scissor!"

As Scyther's Trainer, Fujita knew his rhythm well. The moment Scyther made his move, he issued the attack command.

Moving at high speed, Scyther's scythes glowed with a white light, slashing down on Nidoran from two tricky angles aimed at his head with ruthless precision.

"Double Kick to speed up! Then use Poison Jab head-on!" Sato called.

Despite Scyther's incredible speed, Sato's keen eyesight made the ambush ineffective. He quickly issued his counter command just as Scyther was closing in on Nidoran.

Having used Focus Energy, Nidoran's mind was razor-focused.

Upon hearing Sato's orders, he immediately sprang into action, his powerful hind legs wrapped in Fighting-type energy as he launched forward.

As he flew toward Scyther, the tip of his horn glowed an eerie purple, aimed right at Scyther's torso.

Seeing the sudden burst from Nidoran, Scyther's eyes flashed with a battle-hardened glint. He swiftly retracted his extended right scythe, crossing it defensively over his chest, while his wings beat hard, lifting him just slightly off the ground.

In the next moment, they clashed with a sharp "clang!"

Nidoran's Poison Jab was blocked by Scyther's hardened right scythe, while Scyther's left scythe slashed down mercilessly, leaving a harsh cut on Nidoran's side.

At the same time, the force of Nidoran's lunge sent Scyther flying backward, but with a few beats of his wings, Scyther managed to dissipate the impact, landing gracefully back on the ground.

In this initial clash, it was clear that Scyther held the upper hand.
